  1. It’s crazy how bad De Vries has been this year. I didn’t think he deserved an F1 seat, but I also didn’t think he would be this bad. He took Lando out in T1 this race, took Yuki out last race and has been pretty much the slowest driver on the grid. He’s basically Latifi 2.0, which is funny because the reason people said he deserved a seat was because he won F2…in his 4th year when Latifi finished second in probably the worst F2 lineup ever.
  2. This might even be a more ridiculous conspiracy theory than the one you started about DJ Campbell.
  3. Yeah, his best hope was Max struggling more in traffic in hards trying to overtake medium runners, but the RB is so dominant that it doesn’t matter. I look forward to 5 years from now when we get to learn what ingeniousl trick Newey figured out that literally no one else did.
  4. Not just anyone can go into Northern California and steal Fresno State’s backup QB. That’s what we call Real. Recruiting. Power. Move.
  5. It wouldn’t have mattered. Max was just way faster.
  6. The entire outstanding signing bonus total jumps to the year he’s cut or traded. It doesn’t stay on as dead cap for each successive year.
  7. Stroll out in Q1 in the third fastest car. What a clown.
  8. Except the Ravens have no way of acquiring those better QBs so it’s not comparing Lamar to Burrow. It’s Lamar compared to a guy like Derek Carr or Will Levis. And they can move on from him after Year 3 so they’re only really committing to him for 3 years. If he’s declining, then they can move on then.
  9. Oh yeah, I forgot the other thing making this thread shitty. Derka taking every post, most of which aren’t even talking about him, as a personal attack and Derka’ing the ever loving shot out of this thread.
  10. I got lost in all the different scenarios being discussed. You’re saying Manning staying if Murphy is the starter for 2024 is impossible?
  11. No, it really doesn’t. He was either a good choice as a basketball coach or not. Like I said, I understand the pressure that was on them and going with someone other than RT would’ve been very difficult for the decision maker, but the optics and outside pressure surrounding the decision don’t change it from a bad hire to a good hire.
  12. This is a pretty fucking stupid response. I understand the pressure that was on the admin to hire him and expected that to happen unless we could land a Jay Wright or Billy Donovan type, but that doesn’t mean it was a good coaching hire decision.
  13. Yeah, this group 1, group 2 thing is fucking stupid. This thread has been a beating to read because people got so entrenched in their positions in the should we hire RT thread that they can’t even interpret individual events reasonably. Hopefully this will stop so this thread can become readable again, but continuing to lump everyone into two separate factions won’t allow that to happen. I don’t think RT was a good hire, but he’s our coach now so I’m going to root for him (and thereby the team) to succeed until I know he’s not the guy, a la Shaka year 3. The silver lining to this situation is that we actually have an AD now, and he won’t let RT stay for 7 got dam years if it’s not working.
  14. Lulz. You’ve had a hate boner for Lamar all offseason, writing unprompted critical posts about him all offseason, saying he and his mom screwed up the situation horribly and then he signs one of the biggest deals in history with no agent and rather than admitting you had no clue what you’re talking about you’ve now shifted to what a mistake it was by the Ravens. Signing Lamar may not get them to a title, but it’s a much better option than losing him this year or next and wandering without a QB while they have a playoff roster everywhere else. The Ravens can also get out of this deal in 3 years without too much trouble. The odds they find a QB better than Lamar in the next 3 years if they let him go are extremely low.
  15. You keep saying this, but he wasn’t running with the ones and spring and it sounds like the staff would rather try to find a way to get Williams on the field at G over Neto. I hope he develops and it would be great if won the starting job, but there’s been nothing to show so far to support him winning it by fall camp. I also think guard’s his worst position. He’s a better athlete than mauler/anchor, so T or C would be better fits for him. You’re stupid and wrong. STFU.
  16. I can’t think of many names that fit in better at Oklahoma than Konnor. He must’ve been named by an illiterate meth head.
  17. Fuck yes! This is a huge get! He’ll be our third guard this year and could stay at UT for 2-3 years.
  18. Doubt this is how it goes. If Murphy isn’t named the starter by the end of spring 2024 he’s probably transferring. The writing would be on the wall at that point.
  19. Whoa. Looks like Kansas is dropping major bags this cycle.
  20. Now we’re fucked. Ian Boyd publishing that article guarantees OU’s defense will be good next year.
  21. Congratulations, sir! You have just hit one of our recruiting bingo squares: “Olds on Surly try to interpret social media activity when they have no fucking clue what they’re talking about.”
  22. No. You're confusing the minimum roster salary with guaranteed money. If it's actually guaranteed money, then there's no requirements, you are guaranteed to get it once the contract's signed, and teams can guarantee more than just the signing bonus. There's other things like roster bonuses if you're on the 53 at a certain time, but those aren't counted as guaranteed money. Teams can guarantee more money to UDFAs than what the 7th round contract slot will guarantee.
  23. It’s irrelevant whether the guarantee comes from salary or signing bonus. Guaranteed money is guaranteed money. 7th round players don’t get any guaranteed money past their signing bonus, so teams can still give UDFAs better contracts than a 7th round pick.
