  1. That's just not what happened at all. From laps 13 to 30 Leclerc lost 16.5 seconds to Perez and 15.5 seconds to Verstappen. From 30 to 50, he only lost 2-3 seconds, even though RB has way better tyre life and Leclerc was falling back to Alonso by the end of the race due to deg. From 36 - 50, Leclerc was always between 19.5 and 20.5 seconds back from Perez. They were absolutely managing the gap right at about 20 seconds for basically half the laps after the Safety Car restart.
  2. I think I heard Max was asking to come in because he had worse tyre deg than Checo and didn’t want to give him DRS and then be susceptible to the overcut, but yeah they should’ve waited a lap. I think it all happened in like less than 20 seconds though, so hard to think it through and react.
  3. Is he saying Morris wanted to pick DePaul over KU?
  4. It’s not as binary as you’re making it out to be. The hit rate on high school one and dones is much lower than proven transfers and a lot of the one and dones are super expensive to secure. So it’s generally a more efficient use of money to go after transfers and you also have a better shot of keeping them for multiple years. The majority of HS 5 stars declare for the draft or transfer after Year 1. Im not saying we should completely forego one and dones, but we should definitely focus way more of our resources on transfers and program guys out of HS.
  5. The most important number is the guaranteed amount. Bijan will get the full amount of his contract, but all the other guys will need to make the roster this year and stay on, otherwise they’ll only get the signing bonus plus a little extra. DMO and RoJo are safe to make the roster in Year 1, at least, but Coburn and Ojomo could only get their signing bonus and then be fighting to make a practice squad for $277k per year.
  6. Are you under the impression TexAgs writes the dates of its posts in the European format? 98% of their posters couldn’t even locate Europe on a map.
  7. And he’s also from the Northeast and just transferred to a school back there. So yeah, he was never going to stay once Beard was fired, and he still may not have stayed. It’s not like he was playing under Beard.
  8. This some good race pace data from Reddit. Also so and Leclerc we’re extremely similar. It goes to show what a difference a driver can make. They were both about half a second per lap faster than their teammates, and Leclerc being 8 tenths faster than Sainz in qualifying was just absurd. He seems to pull about half a second more out of his car in S2 of Baku than anyone else can manage. Ferrari’s race pace just emphasizes how other-worldly his qualifying performances were. Sadly, all that brilliance probably only gained him one extra point over the whole weekend than if he had just been solid and qualified P3. We could have a really fun battle between Leclerc and Alonso for P3 this year, if Ferrari can stop blowing up engines and fucking up strategy. But that’s about as likely as Alpine scoring points during a race weekend. Speaking of, Alpine have only scored points in 2 out of 4 races this year and their highest single finish is 8th. That’s so pathetic for a works team better resources than over half the grid.
  9. Yeah. The best we can hope for is Checo staying within striking distance k year, but I doubt even that happens. Max learns his car over the course of the year and adjusts to it. Checo is much more limited in how much he can adapt to a car. Plus, a lot of Checo’s best tracks seem to come early in the season, like Jeddah and Baku. I don’t think it was a dumb quick trigger. They had been planning for Max to box that lap, so it was a snap judgment call on whether De Vries would cause a safety car, and it was clear at that moment if he had just locked up or it was something more serious like his broken suspension. Stroll was also insanely lucky that race. He hit the exact same corner as De Vries in a similar manner and got no damage. He continues to show he’s worthy of being in F1, but he’s capped at below average, and that’s with receiving every advantage a driver could imagine his entire way coming up.
  10. Nothing changed. He was always going to be part of the draft process after his first year. Congratulations. You just listed the dumbest possible main concern anyone could’ve had for RT getting the job, and you managed to pay yourself in the back for it at the same time . One and dones, and freshmen in general, have never been less important than right now.
  11. Wasn’t that against tOSU? But yeah, he was awesome pre-injury. It’s a shame. Man, the Eagles have absolutely killed it this draft. Ojomo is a great value in the 7th.
  12. He has a terrible injury history and didn’t recover well from his last injury.
  13. I think you might be the one on crack. Not only did they not draft Bennett, but They drafted “weapons” with 3 of their top 4 picks.
  14. George is fast, but he’s terrible at wheel to wheel racing.
  15. Follow up to my follow up: Ocon has now boxed twice during a 17 lap sprint race.
  16. As a follow up to this post, Alpine made changes to Ocon’s car under parc ferme so they will now be starting P18 and P20 for the race. These guys make Ferrari look like geniuses.
  17. So who’s staying up til 4 AM to watch the Sprint Shootout or whatever the fuck it’s called?
  18. Yeah, we’ll be better next year if we use the money we had earmarked for Holland on a transfer. 5 star freshman rarely help their teams win that much.
  19. Alpine talked all week about how they could be the second or third fastest car by the end of the season, the next time they hit the track they qualify P19 and P12. What a bunch of clowns.
  20. Some team will probably trade back up to the end of the first so they can have the 5th year option.
  21. I was talking about the teams who had a shot at him. Bijan was never going to fall anywhere near their pick or even in their trade range. But yeah, Chiefs would’ve been amazing.
  22. If we’re talking only about what’s best for Bijan, it would have been Philly by a mile.
  23. That’s a good deal for the Lions.
