  1. Well yeah, that’s kind of 6th Street’s whole thing. We’re talking about a guy who wanted Sam to be benched for a redshirt freshman Casey Thompson.
  2. He got kicked from a Jimbo program in year one. That’s a massive red flag. Jimbo will overlook all kinds of shit, sexual assault, drug charges, etc. So he was either a massive character problem that’s not likely to fix itself or he’s nowhere near as good as advertised.
  3. Exactly. If he doesn’t cancel practice and throw a pizza party, then he has no clue how to be a head coach in today’s game.
  4. They have a massive depth issue already and it will only worsen as more guys transfer. they processed a ton of bad evals from previous classes last year, but are now seeing huge attrition in the 21 and 22 classes this year. Combine that with most of the guys Jimbo hit on in 19 and 20 leaving early, and they’re not going to have many upperclassmen who can contribute. On top of that, their 23 class is extremely small, so they’re not getting a ton of contributors from there. So they’ll have to bring a ton of guys in form the portal, but they’re currently spending a shit ton just to retain their current guys from the 22 class. So even if they keep a lot of the 22 guys they want, their depth will be absolutely horrible and they’ll fall apart as soon as injuries hit. They’d have to have extremely good injury luck next year to keep it together. Im sure someone can post it, but if you look at a depth chart or scholarship distribution for A&M this season and then subtract guys graduating/leaving early and all the portal guys, the chart starts to look very thin real fast.
  5. I think it will. The antitrust issues that have led to the all the other NCAA cases being a complete beat down of the NCAA still apply even if they allow a one-time transfer. It’s still a restriction of the athletes’ ability to play, since the NCAA has a monopoly on college athletics. I think they would be very hard-pressed to distinguish this from the other cases they’ve lost, and I think they’re less likely to even try to do so. I’ll be pretty surprised if players who lawyer up don’t get an additional waiver.
  6. There can be, but a lot of RPOs are just an option to pass or handoff to the RB, and we use RPO’s all the time. It’s a huge part of Sark’s offense. So your claim that no QB runs means no RPOs is just completely wrong.
  7. Except McCarthy is entrenched as the starter, so he wouldn’t be playing there. But you are the expert on Hudson Card predictions, so I guess I’ll defer to you.
  8. Really wish Hunter would’ve killed the clock there.
  9. Is there a whiter name than Baylor Scheierman?
  10. Now the refs find their whistles right as we’re about to pull away. Some serious bullshit calls to keep Creighton in it.
  11. No wonder we’re winning. They’re pinching and we’re punching.
  12. Got dam. We just can’t seem to pull away. We’ve gotten up by 7 and 8 points this game, but they keep making a run.
  13. He was trying to block the shot, ie he was the shot blocker on the play.
  14. Great job by Carr driving into the shot blocker’s body. We need to do that way more.
  15. We’re playing pretty well but our shot selection needs to improve. Too many early jumpers that aren’t open.
  16. Fuck yes Hunter! What a great steal and drive.
  17. Edge just means edge rusher and it originated from draftniks wanting to use one term to categorize edge rusher prospects regardless of whether they played in a 3-4 or 4-3 in college. So either a 4-3 DE or a 3-4 OLB counts as an edge, regardless of whether they play with their hand on the ground or a 2 point stance. There’s no specific size for an edge because it’s a general position, like DL or LB. It depends on the specific defensive scheme you’re talking about. For Kwiatkowski, he usually has a weak side edge that’s about 240ish and a strong side edge that’s about 260ish. Ovie (6’3-240) and Sorrell (6-4, 260) are pretty representative of the two body types of edges PK normally uses. However, it’s more about skill set than size so that can change based on his personnel.
  18. This is the first time I’ve been confident in Texas Basketball in a big game in what feels like forever. Let’s beat them into submission!
  19. While we’re making this the talk about Worthy’s play thread, the biggest issue with Worthy this year was Sark’s usage of him. Worthy’s best attribute is that he can make cuts at full speed and he’s also extremely good after the catch. Throwing a ton of deep balls doesn’t utilize either of those skills. He was much more effective last year when we hit him in WR screens, crossers, etc. and let him get separation and then run after the catch. Hopefully Neyor returning will fix some of that, but Sark still did a poor job utilizing him this year regardless. After that, I’d say the issue is pretty evenly split between Ewers throwing some really terrible deep balls and Worthy being bad at tracking/adjusting and not doing a good job of fighting DBs for position.
  20. You are a true autist.
  21. Yeah, that’s part of why Shaka is way better off at a smaller school. They value the big upsets more and the amount of 3s he lets his players take will lead to some upsets, but it will also lead to losing even more games you shouldn’t, which we are all painfully aware of.
  22. So being tough on players means making up dumbass nicknames as if you’re a TexAgs poster? Got it. man, people have short memories and love the backup QB. Card was largely below average the entire time he played this year, and while he did show some improvement, people mistake a lot of his improvement for playing his last game against a horrible WVU defense. He easily could've thrown multiple picks that game and got very lucky to get the stat line he did, like when he made a terrible throw that bounced off the WVU defender to Worthy for a TD. Dont forget that Ewers sliced up the Bama defense for two drives, then Card came in for more than 3 quarters and could only manage 9 points. Card lost half the games he played in. Based on Ewers form early in the season, we probably go 4-0 during that same stretch if Ewers stays healthy.
  23. The guys who will get a lot of attention are already negotiating through back channels. There’s no need for them to announce anything publicly until they can actually transfer. Announcing now just means their current school would be hounding them for a week.
  24. Practice squad is about $200,000 per year, which is probably the most relevant amount to a lot of these guys. Very few 7th rounders will make the 53.
  25. Or maybe you look foolish now because you’re assuming a true freshman will be ready to perform right away as a blocker.
