  1. I think it is a combination of Cignetti and his staff being really good at their jobs holistically and also, now that they've shown a ton of promise, the school's massive donor base is infusing capital to help them further. I don't know many people I have on ignore, but it's plenty. Some are trolls, some are insipid idiots, and some have told me I should put them on ignore. That poster did that some time ago after their newly iterated arrival on the Football Board over some triviality that spun them into a tizzy. I took them at their suggestion and haven't missed a thing until you guys started quoting more silly shit here. To each their own, but having a loose trigger finger on the ignore button is a feature of my posting behavior that I value.
  2. If Omarion Miller is considered "top tier" in the portal, then the portal is simply chock full of bread. The guy is a solid player but not a #1 WR.
  3. My loyalty?! For 24 years people have been trying to troll me. People who know how. Now, do you think that's because my posts are friendly and inviting? Or do you think it's because I'm a chaos agent and an asshole on Surly? Go fuck yourself, you fucking child!
  4. Bobby is a really good man and he does the hard work as a journalist when he is on a story. His weakness is that he’s not cynical enough with his trust in people from the coaching and AD worlds. Agents, recruits and parents? Yes. Coaches across the landscape? Tends to believe them with less skepticism. I don’t think he gets actively lied to, I just think when someone like Harris or Flood is telling you something, you have to temper it a bit. Gerry is the opposite. Almost too cynical and skeptical at times, but it has served his track record well. He’s been right more than anyone else in the space time and again. That’s true on evaluations as well. For every Daniel Cruz people want to bitch about, there are many guys like Byron Murphy and Cam Williams that he liked a lot more than the rest of the industry. I don’t think Nahlin is unconnected, but I do think he is also too trusting. We should question anything coming from OB or Chip Brown because those guys are often actively being used in messaging campaigns of one sort or another and they don’t even seem to care as long as they can claim having a source or a scoop. Vogel, South, Scruggs and others are young guys still learning and occasionally stumble into good stuff. I think South is the best of them, personally.
  5. Texas took him as a bit of a project but liked his physical make-up. I don't think he was pushed out. He might just want to play sooner than his 3rd or 4th year. Sometimes those guys work out, but these days they seem to usually want to portal. There's nothing out there saying he can't be a player for someone. You're shitting yourself in the review of a photograph when what we're watching unfold is a motion picture. It's dumb to judge this until everything is locked in. As to why people are so far off? Do you work in a stale job, like an admin for the government or a giant corporation or something? This shit is completely chaotic. Even teams who truly have their shit together face a great deal of uncertainty during this period. "But but but Indiana!!! Cignetti!!!" Right. Let's see how things go for them when their portal window opens. Maybe they're the ones who figured it out, but they'd be about it. Kiffin, the portal king, pushed Durham out to make room for Lacy and now Lacy is staying put. Nothing can be taken for granted. I told all of y'all this a month ago when the bullshit started picking up from the $9.95ers.
  6. I laughed. If Texas balks at $1M for Raleek Brown, they’ve been misjudging this cycle’s market for the better part of a year. JFC if so.
  7. I am neither optimistic or pessimistic about any of this. I am simply reviewing the data points and the innuendo and considering where that causes each school to stand. Anyone taking a great amount of faith in conjecture from $9.95ers and/or insiders inside this maelstrom of chaos is doing so out of desperation and/or laziness.
  8. This is a false choice and unnecessary outcome.
  9. ATM isn't Oregon or Campbell's Tech. They don't have NIL on Texas' level. The only way they actually "outbid" Texas here is with something so truly stupid that it sabotages other shit for them. If Harris and Sarkisian are otherwise spineless enough to let a couple hundred thousand dollars be the difference for them, they are actually weaker than I thought. Texas has landed their targets at DL, TE, special teams, and likely their top 2 priorities at OL. Two guys they tried to lure into the portal at RB stayed home and they may not land the biggest alleged prize in the whole fucking thing that isn't a QB. Okay. That's not a cold start unless you are an overreacting fucktard on a Texas site or wishcasting rival fan. If Texas lands Raleek Brown as part of their RB solution, that will be snagging one of the unquestioned best RBs in the portal and someone that you and other okies were heartbroken over losing when decommitted and signed with Riley at USC. So, no, NFL noise isn't involved with any of this. It's an odd overall take coming from someone rooting for a school signing a bunch of guys that Texas wouldn't lower themselves to, for a second desperate cycle in a row.
  10. FWIW, "insiders" on the aggie 247 board are gleefully running their mouths within the last hour that they landed Coleman.
  11. Things are not very opaque any more and agents will have their shit pushed in if they get caught lying and inflating offers. Schools can turn the table on an agent by telling players they will not deal with anyone working with agent X. Even with someone like Coleman, everyone is going to have an idea of that value based on their own roster dealings, recruiting ranges, and what multiple agents are willing to say. That said, in Coleman's case, he's working with guys that cut massive NFL deals. This shit is just the small fry for them so that they can represent him in the NFL. They're not going to wreck that by overplaying his hand with the schools.
  12. Prepare thy anus on the run blocking side, or take all of the PFF with a very large grain of salt - choose your own adventure:
  13. I don't think Texas is elite. I don't spend any time worrying about that, whether with brand, history, academics, NIL, you name it. Those are givens. No one from UT spends a second questioning any of that. You come from a psychological place of insecurity about your school and athletics, so of course you're going to assume that fans of other schools do as well, which is understandable, but I wanted to clear that up for you. I also don't have a problem with Tech being a player due to their billionaires helping on NIL. I come to this thread to see if there's any news about Tech I might have missed; how they might be embarrassing themselves in some new way; and to witness the Tech posters pulling the bookshelf on top of themselves repeatedly. I'm rarely disappointed. You guys getting the rug pulled in the CFP just fits right in with all of that.
  14. Sources around the recruitment, FWIW, are saying that the offers from Texas and ATM aren't far enough apart to matter. It's going to come down to other recruiting characteristics. If that is true and the guy chooses to go play for a first time OC in College Station, well, HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!
  15. Ha, no. You have been asserting, for months on end and in multiple posts, that had Texas truly threatened, Ohio State would have just magically opened up the offense. The OL didn't play terribly and they didn't play great against OSU, irrespective of how much you want to alter reality and claim that they were just absolutely dreadful. They started really sucking after that game, sure, but that wasn't the discussion. Two things can be true at the same time - you hammered both the "Ohio State would have just opened up the offense" trope and also wailed and gnashed your teeth about the OL's performance against OSU as all-time bad.
  16. I'm glad to have him, and Michigan State did not want to lose him, but since people asked about PFF, here you go. They like him better in the passing game than the running game, FWIW.
  17. Is he a good blocking TE? PFF likes his route running and pass catching far more than his run blocking, but who knows?
  18. I've watched the guys you are picking up and it looks like a growing collection of spares. That's great if you're cheering for a used tire shop, but it seems like a tenuous position for a fan of a football program. -WKU OL (Caleb Nitta) - spare following in the likes of Kennesaw State guys from last year. He couldn't cut it for PT at a weak VaTech program. Transfers to WKU and scores a PFF of 69 and you guys celebrate. -Oregon CB (Dakoda Fields) - Oregon shoved him out with an exit interview. Spare. -Florida TE (Hayden Hudson) - Dude caught 30 passes for 250-ish yards and 2 or 3 tds this past season. He's not exactly a great in-line blocker, although that's where he plays mostly, and he's not a real passing threat. I thought when y'all fired Finley, the profile you were seeking might actually improve. Nope. -Arkansas RT (E'Marion Harris) - He started for Arkansas, but his 2nd season of starting yielded a 58-ish PFF grade. Spare. -Virginia WR (Trell Harris) - He had a breakout senior season and put up good numbers, including a number of explosives, and he did it as P4 level. Not a spare. -Texas WR (Jaggy McJaggerson) - The name says it all. He'll drop a bunch of passes and look like a buffoonish baby giraffe on any rout that isn't a fly pattern, but man, he can catch a deep pass if given space. You brought in another guy like that a few years and he finally had a decent season this year, at Miss State. Spare. -CSU TE (Rocky Beers) - Bounced around 3 G6 schools putting up middling numbers. Decided to join OU mostly to watch his sister play basketball, I think. Spare. -CSU RB (Kelly Avant) - Couldn't crack the starting lineup at shitty Tulsa, so he went to shitty CSU instead. Rushed for 420-ish yards and caught for another 250-ish. Role playing APB type. Now he's going to crush it in the SEC? Right. Spare. Now that I've loaded this up for you, how do you feel about your portal class so far?
  19. He was in the portal last year and Ole Miss snapped him up. I think it was Arkansas from which he hailed, and they were not excited to lose him, especially to a semi-rival. Texas never reached out to him. You continue to blurt out this drivel about "Ohio State would have just opened up the offense" when there is a mountain of evidence at this point that that, well, was their fucking offense. They needed to open it up against multiple other teams and couldn't really do it. You can cite advanced statistics as some sort of solve for your position and the rest of will continue to look at the scoreboards and question just what in the fuck it is you think you are highlighting. Keep tilting at those windmills though, we have only seen your take on this subject roughly 1700 times since early September.
  20. Let's clear up some basic stuff here. 1) Nothing is being "publicized" because nothing is being done illegally. There's no there, there. Guys like Sydney and the rest of us can not like it, and it is an exploitation of a loophole in the current constructs of NIL compliance, but there's nothing to be done. Texas boosters have examined the same path and, while it still might be of use, found more straightforward ways to get players involved with NIL and businesses. 2) The only "cocksuckers" involved here are Cody Campbell, for being the biggest deceitful hypocrite this side of Alabama and LSU fans, in this whole charade, and you, for being the biggest whiny bitch on this board when anyone deigns to level criticism at your beloved shithole school and athletic program. You cannot have a genuine discussion when it comes to Tech and anything that might involve a critical dialogue. InsideTheRedRaiders is due west of here, about a 300 mile boring ass drive away on the Internet, and you can find a whole bunch of people like you, replete with the same room temperature IQ and insecurities about your weak pseudo-academic institution and try-hard athletic program. Hope that helps.
  21. Various folks involved offline on all of this would have had you believe that he’d be the first guy in and signing with Texas during this cycle. There were gratuitous fantasy stories involving landing like 7-8 of these types circulating. They were a core reason I told everyone on this board, in this thread, that I am from Missouri on all of the “all in” silliness. It’s the same shit I heard in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. Less than a third of any of it ever comes to fruition.
  22. No, I read it. It was banal excuse-making instead of just owning it and being done with it. But now you’re going to reply to this as well and on and on and on.
  23. Dude has been waiting a decade for just the right thing to post about, and we're going to get it. We don't need further bandwidth drain from you on this. Just say "I'm a fucktard" and move on. We all get it.
  24. I would murder at least half of you for this guy. I’m assuming Ohio State and a pain in our ass next September.
  25. Hummer is reporting that Coleman is done with his aggie visit and heading home. He may or may not take visits to USC and Tech, but at the moment, the momentum is with him choosing between Texas and A&M and being done with it. Of course the aggie posters on 247 believe that they're the big winners in this one.
