Who are the legacies? Lott and Finley? Seems like Lott is going to be highly ranked with everyone wanting him. I haven’t started following heavily so I can’t tell if Finley is in that same range or what. -

Given these comments and posting the guy’s stuff, I thought “who is his nemesis?” and clicked to view the ignored post. It didn’t disappoint. 1) The guy still has no grip on how recruiting works. It’s hard to be “wrong” when providing info and establishing that things change, and particularly around signing day. 2) The irony of citing guys as sources and then accidentally mocking those same people because the idiot doesn’t understand the intertwined nature between some of us is delicious. 3) To watch an admitted cuckhold call other people “bitch made” and “hoes” shows that, through all of his timult, he’s sadly learned nothing. 4) Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays -

Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread

While it was an inevitability that they'd ultimately edit the game result into a fictionalized victory, it's still always funny to see. The speed is surprising, but also adds to the entertainment. The bigger thing to me is that it's indicative of behaviors throughout the whole organization. The Elk blamed refs, the admins and boosters think they're a few plays away, and the fans convince themselves of their hypothetical wins and glory. Nothing therefore changes, no one gets introspective and grows, and they play Charlie Brown to the world's Lucy, again and again. -

That dum dum was talking about 14 signees this past weekend. Looks like he landed two more guys but lost this one. -

Well, I didn't say anything about the schedule in 2025 being "easy". My argument is that it currently does not look "top 3" difficult, which is the what you said. I didn't dispute that Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee wouldn't be good again next year, like, at all. You can challenge the notion that LSU won't be mediocre, but the trend for them is there. Before having a ton of money and having the right coach, LSU was completely mediocre for more than 4 decades. Saban, new revenue streams, and an inspired fanbase changed all of that. Look forward, however, and they face an uphill climb, irrespective of how much in-state talent they have. They cannot compete on the NIL front. Threatening momma or daddy's livelihood is no longer is a problem when the recruit can get $500k/year as an offset elsewhere. They're a poor school in a poor state surrounded now by serious capital and the same level of fandom affinity as their own. LSU is staring down the barrel of a 7-5 ceiling next season. Ole Miss has been a dogshit program for most of its existence. Kiffin isn't some wizard. He handled the portal better early than others. He's not a great recruiter and surviving by portal arbitrage alone isn't an option going forward. Winning 9+ games at shithole programs like Ole Miss isn't a given or a birthright. Like I said, your schedule isn't going to fly as an excuse next year. Was this a flip today? Jesus. That leaves them with 13 signees. -

Not sure you can call next year's schedule some sort of monster. -Miami - loses a ton of starters including Ward and Restreppo -USF - loses the QB, might still be better, who knows? -Georgia in Jax - They lose a ton but will reload, of course. Still, just expecting them to be a top 5 team involves ignoring plenty of parity and their roster losses. -Texas - Loses a ton of starters at QB, OL, TE, WR, DT, DE, Same thoughts as Georgia. -FSU - they sucked this year and they will suck next year. the portal arbitrage days are over, they recruit like shit, they have no depth. -@ Ole Miss - those dipshits sold their soul to play for it all this year ... in the Music City Bowl or some shit. they lose everyone and some say Kiffin lacks the same backing this cycle. -@ LSU - they're a run of the mill program going forward. NIL and the portal and an asshole HC that no one wants to play for have hurt them significantly. -@ Texas A&M - they're the definition of mediocre and lose most of their high end talent this year. -Tennessee - I think they'll for sure be a top 10 team. -Miss State - terrible. come on. -Long Island U - fuck you guys with the FCS shit. -@ Kentucky - terrible. come on. A lot can happen with the portal, but if you guys can't go 9-3 with that schedule, Napier is trash. You bring back plenty of talent and have a big class coming in. You're also primed to spend a bundle in the portal. Regardless, that's not a "top 3 hardest" schedule next cycle. -

As in, some folks on the Texas side thought the juice was worth someone else's squeeze because of big boy SEC football and ATM somehow, yet again, being the waking sleeping giant. Fortunately, Hilson so badly didn't want to go to ATM that he chose Colombia, MO as a better alternative. -

Usually when that kind of stuff is thrown around, 50% or better. DK Moore went from a $750k guy to $1.25 overnight. Jayden Jackson went from $100k-ish in offers to OU coming in over the top for $400k in year one last year. One of the guys Auburn on the DL last year was a similar case. When Texas and programs like Michigan or Ohio State are saying "I'm out", you know something has gotten silly. Not saying that happened with DKM because it didn't, but it did with Hilson, JJackson, and a few Auburn signees last year. Another thing with Hilson is that this was like 3rd time that he decided to shop another offer. He may wind up being really good, but most often the third time is the strikeout for disciplined programs. That's a true statement irrespective of who JTerry picks. He probably sets the #1 class and credit to Gerry for saying that he would last week, if so. -

They offered him over the top NIL last week. He then went and shopped it. Somewhere in there, Texas bowed out, agitating some folks by a great deal, but that shit happens every cycle. -

There's a Dabo/Clemson thread on the football board and I posted about this yesterday on that thread, but yeah, Swinney is firmly entrenched in his approach. He says they're retaining basically the entire roster and won't lose hardly anyone to the portal. Maybe a few to the pros. He spent the rest of his recent PC talking about how they were going to become the first 3 loss national title winner this year, after apparently just rolling through SMU this weekend. That dude is cushioned with his fantasies by the ineptitude of the ACC. The two times they went up against SEC teams this year, they were smaller, slower, and crushed at the point of attack. I'm sure they'll do awesome in the playoffs, should they somehow actually beat SMU. I'd love to see Texas face them. -

They really are somewhat closer to aggies, as a group, behavior-wise, than we think. They currently blame everything on "The Snubbing" and believe that the universe has secretly aligned against them since that specific moment in time. It's fun to witness. -

Phew. Someone stepped up. That's pretty fucking big. Now it gets interesting with JTerry, Hicks, Fasusi, etc. Is Texas pushing all-in? Does this pull us off of some or all? Could be a big move in either direction. Or, it's just another signing week and Hicks comes to Texas while the others go where they're expected. IT'S FLUID!!! -

No recruit is an island, entire of itself. Every recruit is piece of the roster, a part of the main. Lacey could damned sure be called upon for various reasons including a rash of QB injuries. -

They're going to win the Stewart NOLA auction. They're not swinging for one DT and they're offering significant paydays. Riley and Elko are in the same spot of trying to convince the money that they are *that* close and just to shore up a few key spots to land on top, particularly DT. -

I think I've been as straightforward as I could be in that Sharma already flipped to USC earlier this week. Texas has been doing what it can, but USC's extremely desperate. This goes back to being too selective early on if you weren't going to have the cajones to do what it takes to retain the guys you do land. They want to develop as many guys from the ground up as they can. At every position. That obviously doesn't mean they'd ever ignore the portal as one of winners there in each cycle. I think people are confusing the costs of recruiting these days, really. I know imma knows that, but just building off of the point around development. Some guys cost most than others. Some guys still sign with almost no NIL understanding or expectation. Other guys know their specific market via the help of agents or savvy parents and it goes as high as $1.25M/year for non-QBs, apparently, given that that's part of why Moore went to Oregon. Even the stars fail to normally go nearly that high. But that's not "the market" generally speaking for a position. Chase Sims could have been had for virtually nothing. Guidry, same. WIth UT's S&C and coaching development in this regime, either guy winds up contributing and potentially becoming draft picks. Neither of them approached something like $250k. His trajectory has been downward, even before Daboer. It's odd. Injuries and culture issues this year didn't help. Dude quit on the team midseason. I wouldn't touch him. The $9.95ers are idiots for rating him so highly. That's a brand thing only. Nansen basically decided he wasn't really interested in Petitjohn until it was far too late. Not sure what the guy was thinking, as he's been very good otherwise. Just a bizarre play. On Lacey, I think there was some element of loyalty to both the recruit and the evaluation on Sarkisian's end. Given the guy's track record at QB, I guess I've got to just shrug and call myself the idiot for doubting him when it pans out. -

Yeah, it's been a great cycle and such, but there are some busts mixed in as well. This isn't texags. 1) DT recruiting did not go well. Texas might wind up landing JTerry somehow, and that could save it. Sharma is anything but a lock for Texas today. If they sign only one, that's laughable. They had chances to lock in multiple quality guys earlier in the cycle and they didn't. A final group of Charles, Sharma, and JTerry would be great. A final group of Wynn, Sims, and Charles would also have been just fine. They left too much variability in this group and risk closing with only one. 2) Committing to Lacey over the dude from DFW wasn't ideal. 3) Letting Ohio State win on Petitjohn will always suck. Not understanding Faraimo's general disinterest was just idiocy on Nansen's part. I do not believe he is eligible for the MLB draft after signing his LOI today. -
