  1. Just scrolled 4 pages of this mockery of a thread. Have avoided what I am sure will be 3-4 brutal phone conversations when I return those calls. Just can’t hear any more about the state of incompetence and bizarre shit coming from Belmont right now. You people are making me healthy. I think I’m going to go play MLB 2024 for a while until my wife makes me rejoin adulthood, hopefully with a Manhattan she’s made, this evening.
  2. Just spitballing here but I would bet Gerry would lean slightly towards Texas but wouldn’t be shocked by anything.
  3. My pick is Texas because the mom wants Texas. She’s not heavy handed though. I plan to be entertained nonetheless.
  4. I was just in San Fran and surrounding areas for 5 days visiting family with my wife and younger kids. We hang out near the wharf area and venture out from there. Because my oldest daughter lives near there, the little ones have all been to the area many times. On Tuesday, one of them says “Daddy, people always say mean things about San Francisco but it is a wonderful, beautiful place. “ I then drove them through the Tenderloin area and got stuck at numerous lights. I looked in the rear view and saw four whitefaced little kids. Like most places, whether Eugene or Austin or San Fran, perspective matters more than anything.
  5. I’ve been transparent on NIL in ways that actually involve risk. I also played a fundamental role in creating the very blueprint in which the NIL world functions. Like, proveably. So spare me your admonishments or advice. A 5 star WR goes above mid 6’s. Absolute absurdity would be $1.5M plus. Beyond that, no one can assuage current roster players or other recruits. That’s true for Oregon, Texas or anyone else. If Texas loses this player, it isn’t because of NIL. It’s not because of a mom wanting Texas or family wanting Texas or anything else in our inherent favor. It’s because a player is 17 years old and thinks they are going to make a difference in Eugene. When I throw a dog a bone, I don’t need to hear how it tastes, you fucking mutt. Your premise is fucked, as is your approach, and you can be as well. Negged again, stumblefuck.
  6. Texas has met the ask. That’s not an issue here barring absolute insanity.
  7. The 8pm part is pretty annoying. If things go according to plan, I’ll be borderline incoherent at the country club by well earlier than 8pm today, wandering about and expressing disdain for the tardiness of the fireworks, the lack of quality milfs to ogle, accusing chestnuts of being lazy, etc. Who the hell is going to have time to figure out this guy’s decision during all of that?
  8. I love it when aggies talk about Texas being overrated. The media and Vegas have whiffed on aggie win totals each of the last 3 seasons, several of those by a lot. Them being picked to go 8-4 this year looks like more of the same. It’s as if no one has actually looked at what they’re bringing back and given it a critical thought.
  9. Get your stories at least vaguely correct if you’re going to try and fit in, noob. Derek Warehime was our toilet destroyer. I’ve hired him to make an appearance tonight at the Moore family cookout. If things don’t go our way tonight, he’s letting everything fly around 8:10. He’ll have been eating collard greens with hot sauce by the bucket ahead of that, so we get to win either way.
  10. The guy is calling a commitment out of the blue without notifying the Texas staff. Sounds good. Brandon Harris thinks Texas is in great shape on this one.
  11. I *think* he was convicted. That should be probably be fact checked. I know he was arrested for it, and not that long after leaving Texas, if memory serves.
  12. If you haven’t read all 15,000 pages of the “Realignment Talk Not Going Away” thread and monitored with religious fervor, that is on you, sir. The realignment dorks would be seriously offended if they read any other threads besides that one and the “Left Behind” thread.
  13. Oh man. Kyle Richardson. Forgot about that dude. I used to hang out with his girlfriend when we were all at Texas. Had a class with her and such. Good times.
  14. He’s also a convicted child molester, so let’s not just lump him in as someone who needs to be too heavily defended.
  15. Texas wanted 2 top DEs in this class. If they could land a 3rd really good one without a big NIL need, great. I viewed Jones as a non-entity once Orogbo locked in. Regarding OL, where plenty of NIL is always there, if you have two guys who are quality candidates and one is going to cost a lot more and has serious risk on his commitment to the sport, you have to seriously weigh in on what you think the talent gap, if any, is.
  16. Rogers loves football and is less about the night life. This could be a trade that irks people but makes sense in the long run. Get him and Brooks and holy shit, that is an OL class. Even without Brooks, that would be a terrific OL group. Also, for people thinking, bizarrely, that NIL is weak or doesn’t matter, take the top 40 players on the roster and everyone of those is an NIL win and a lot of them were highly competitive and involved serious jack. Yes, that includes a backup QB. That is Simmons, Wingo, Moore, Baker, Banks, Niblack, Bond, Hill, Muhammad, DWilliams, every TB, etc., and so forth. The only thing broken in this cycle is approach at DT overall. That doesn’t include Sharma to Oregon. That one is a feature and not a bug. Any idiot using that as a cudgel in an argument should start getting negbombed to clean up the discussion.
  17. Hahahahahhahahhahaha. Outstanding.
  18. Yeah, let that guy go to Oregon. Regarding Chase Sims, the decision makers didn’t want him in during the summer visits. Now they’re unlikely to get a visit at all. This shit is getting sadly hilarious.
  19. Hope is not a strategy. I’ll be crossing my fingers too, since that’s all we have at this point.
  20. I wrote about this somewhere, but we did a road trip last summer that basically went entirely through SEC country over 2 weeks. I’d wear UT gear occasionally and every time I did, I get comments about Tennessee being “ the real UT” and the thing that drove them crazy was my complete ignorance and indifference. “Cool” and “good for you guys” were met with befuddlement. Then I’d just say “look, we’re Texas. I don’t need to explain or debate that shit with anyone. “ and that would end the conversation every time. It’s a land of sensitive, insecure people when it comes to Texas showing up. Bama is largely excepted from that, except for their behavior around the stadium directly after their loss.
  21. Well, if I said that, it had to have been a while back because I do not believe that is where things sit right now.
