  1. There’s a shot you’re taking things a bit too seriously.
  2. I don’t want him under any circumstances. He’ll never play a meaningful down at Texas and, if he does, we are proper fucked. To say he’s a bad-bodied project would be putting it mildly. Even as the 4th DT in a 4 DT group, he’s a roster space looking for a place to transfer.
  3. This is the kind of worry that one should keep to themselves. Maybe sit the next few out and regroup and such.
  4. Then other shit besides hiring someone without any experience happens. Get a fucking grip.
  5. It’s not sarcasm. That idiot has launched a full on assault of tautological banality at this thread.
  6. Isn’t Ralph & Kacoo’s like the Olive Garden of cajun? I was taken there a few times back in the day and always thought, “man, this is some shitty, generic cajun” with every meal.
  7. I pondered one of the top 10 being “Milana Vayntrub is a rotund glutton that chases cars” but thought it was too volatile for the enchilada people. And here you go.
  8. I both order and make Mexican martinis, and I make them spicy and dirty, with almost no sweetness. To me, a margarita served up is a totally different thing, if also delicious.
  9. I have gone almost full Gus McCrae on a few bartenders attempting to insist that you can’t call for a vodka martini. Fucking pedants. Had a guy in London attempt it once at a club while I was with female coworkers and a business partner. I wanted to grab him by his handlebar mustache and bang his head into the counter repeatedly until he passed out.
  10. It's always a good feeling when I read your dipshittery and realize that I am directly aligned against whatever stupidity you are adamant about at that point in time.
  11. And yet the first for the poster asking the question, who I quoted. It's super weird.
  12. Russell is a guy that blew up in a short period of time. The idea that there's also another Michael Huff on the same SMU commitment list not believable. They're having to do some extra work to get the headcount they want at a few spots due to current roster depth of those spots.
  13. No one knows anything. Kendall Rogers is running his mouth and some posters on various boards, but that's it. Hell, Pierce is still the HC as of now. Get a fucking grip. O'Sullivan has won a title and been to the CWS like 9 of the last 14 years. If that doesn't impress, you cannot be impressed. Bobby is part of the wise outside counsel that CDC seeks on a regular basis. The idea that he "knows nothing" is fucking absurd. He's the closest thing this board and longhorn baseball fans have to knowing anything right now. Even the other regular guys who often seem to know stuff are compromised because their sources would be completely excluded from the process as those sources are mostly guys with kids on the team or friends with the coaching staff.
  14. Wait, you think someone agreeing with me causes the board to lose its shit? Or did you just attempt a sick burn poorly? I think you should have posted something clever like "... NOT!!" after that first part to really bring it home.
  15. Yeah, that's just made up out of whole cloth.
  16. I don't remember that. Must have been a slow period for clicks and views or something. The biggest non-story of this cycle will be flipping that player from SMU. The bigger deal there is why in the fuck we are stooping to that level of talent reach in the first place. Two things happened with this post. The first is that you quoted the spider2y dipshit and I read what he wrote and agreed with it, which caused this to happen: And second, I found myself wondering if I'd been time-warped back to the Hornfans recruiting board, circa 2000. Christ. North Shore has been fool's gold in recruiting for the better part of a decade. Outside of Chaisson and a guard that went to Bama (kind of decent), every highly touted recruit from there has been a scorching bust.
  17. Is there some side to that discussion other than the fact that beans should never be in anything called "chili"? Now I'm scared to go find the chili thread.
  18. Top 10 List of Hot Button Subjects That Cause Surly Regulars To Flip Their Shit: 1) Mention to tourists asking for Austin food input that Salt Lick is a fun place to take kids for BBQ. 2) Declare that the Director's Cup is meaningless. 3) Defend David Pierce. 4) Question Dart Bowl enchiladas and their revered peer set, the school district trash and Enchiladas Y Mas. 5) Side with someone on any non-political subject who is known for being a CR regular with unpopular opinions. 6) Have Derka feel slighted in a thread. 7) Post something from Geoff Ketchum. 8 ) Question Rodney Terry's value for the future of UT Basketball. 9) Post a picture of a woman who isn't 40 at the time of the photo on the "Women Over 40" thread. 10) Tell the Left-Behinders that the Big 12 won't be getting any sort of raise in their next round of negotiations.
  19. You think Gerry is getting excited about the decommitment of an SMU commit? Seems very unlikely.
  20. There are plenty of clean texmex restaurants scattered all over this great state that do not cause one to feel like they immediately need to wash their hands upon entry. That restaurant makes taco trucks look clean. For Dart Bowl, I'm guessing if you lined up 50 of us who are unbiased by nostalgia, gave us a sample of the exact recipe, the collective vote would be something akin to "sure, these are fine" versus all of the lust espoused on this thread for them from the boomers. As to the physical challenge of beating someone's ass, look, man, I've read your posts for decades. I'd just start pontificating about the horrors of the world we live in and you'd immediately hit the floor and start bawling. Two hit fight. But if you want to buy me a plane ticket and draw a crowd, I'm all for it and then I could also hit up some Bird Bird Biscuit before leaving town. Public speaking does work up my appetite.
  21. The odds favor him being another North Shore bust. I’ll stick with that even if somehow he and Texas have a meeting of the minds. North Shore is a prospect shithole and not worth the time, money and effort.
  22. I went out of my way to go there in May while in town, based off of the recs from this thread. The restaurant itself is a hovel and obviously a roach motel. The clientele were fatties and poors, mostly wearing t-shirts, cutoffs, tank tops and flip flops. There was a line with people waiting outside who mostly stank of BO and urine. The chips and salsa were excellent. The enchiladas were tough but otherwise tasted fine. The margaritas were mediocre, as was the queso and service. It’s basically a middle of the road greasy spoon that apparently is situated near some posters’ houses who don’t get around to other texmex shops much. It would be like a Houstonian pushing Spanish Flowers or one of 50 taquerias. In conclusion, I wouldn’t rec or go again and I now question the foodie rundowns on this board. I’m guessing Dart Bowl and the San Antonio school district enchiladas or whatever the fuck are also overrated in memory due to boomer nostalgia.
  23. On occasion while wearing longhorn gear, I've said "howdy" when meeting someone or saying a simple greeting. Have said and heard that my whole life as a greeting. More than once, I've had an aggie attempt to correct me on the usage of the term, as though proprietary. I mock them harshly until they regret saying anything and scurry back off in the direction from which they came.
  24. They will take Fasusi over Rogers all day long and there is a zero percent chance that they would turn Brooks away. Brooks, Fasusi, Mills and the 3 commits would be the ideal class. That would be walking in some really high cotton if that happened.
