  1. Watching the Balcones guy, who is either David Pierce or a close relative, stan for him and grind out against Bakich is both predictable and humorous.
  2. CDC’s role gets really overstated regarding the football hire. Money and Eltife were running that one and CDC was in the side buggy. That considered, I don’t think there is an analog for the football hire and it’s to be ignored. What happened, however, is that talks started with Meyer and carried on for awhile. Herman viewed it all as bullshit until one of his assistants sat the guy down and told him it was real. He was stunned. He nevertheless wasn’t fired until the day they announced the Sarkisian hire, if memory serves. Meyer had nothing to do with it.
  3. You’re always out in front of us, stanco, and the best we can do is scratch and claw to keep up.
  4. A friend of mine reminded me that Elko is 46. That is a brutal 46.
  5. What in the fuck is going on here? Just put the spider idiot on ignore like everyone else and move on.
  6. Listen, guy, Neugebauer is the Smith of the Deutschland.
  7. Tell us more about your summertime tv watching habits. That shit is riveting.
  8. This is the biggest weekend of the year so far in terms of OVs and this thread barely registers a peep. Regarding Zion Williams and Brown, while LSU certainly thinks they’ve made their move, anyone thinking that Sarkisian isn’t going to take those recruitments personally hasn’t been paying attention.
  9. While I'd love for these stories to all be true, I find them all very unbelievable. Why would a Florida fan, at a lunch meeting, start a comparison of the way ATM and Texas joined the conference? Who thinks like that besides an aggie? Has anyone on this board ever gotten involved with a conversation about how either team "joined" the SEC with anyone else? I can't be the only person that finds that "topic" as banal and bizarre as part of any kind of conversation with another human.
  10. So there is word that the aggies haven't lived up to their promises with Schlossnagle on a number of fronts - facilities and NIL being two of them. Anyone got a fact check on that in some form? I know people have been overrating the aggie baseball NIL for certain, but they did pay up for the Stanford transfer. Not sure how much carry the NIL end has, but maybe there's something to it. There are two schools of thought - CDC has his man already or there is serious interest in the big names that have been mentioned on this board, specifically Vitello and Bakich. I guess both things can be true. Or, hell, maybe Pierce gets another go and we can all get fucked. I met and played a round of golf with Boddicker awhile back. I am terrible at golf, like never played until adulthood and have never had a lesson terrible, and it was nice to have a peer in our foursome out there with me. Anyway, the guy was a lot of fun and seems like a great guy. We asked him how he felt about being the archetype tall white villain at Texas that opponents love to hate. He thought it was funny and said that his approach to the game, plus the backing of his coaches and mentors, led to a fun 10 year career in Europe. @SquishMitten
  11. I read it wrong, had probably one manhattan too many, and was a pissed as anyone about the game. My bad and I apologize for the misdirected angry take.
  12. I don’t think it is crazy, if memory serves, to think that Nahlib went to the same high school and he is too simple to separate his personal silly nostalgia for actual evaluation and he runs the site. If you get a chance to see Sanders’ bad body and then watch his play, you’ll think to yourself “can’t teach size, and that’s the only reason that jumbled bad bodied mess is getting any looks.” Zion Williams and DJ Sanders are night and day right now in terms of capabilities. Problem is that Williams is Alfred Collins and DJ Sanders *could* be Tvondre Sweat. Pick your poison and risk profile. I don’t think the Texas staff cares. They have multiple guys they want to land. Winston works as one of them, but they’re not going to risk anything for him.
  13. Ignorant take a negged. TOF isn’t only focused on football. OU organized for softball ahead of every other program and kudos to them, but plenty are doing work and TOF and other Texas efforts are putting in work. If you want to step in and back stop Texas softball NIL to match OU, please fucking do it. Otherwise, go fuck yourself.
  14. Negged for 80 grade stupidity from poster just constantly being rapidly fired at this site in almost every forum. It gets old.
  15. Davis is selling putting players in the league versus Baker having no proof of value and being all hat and no cattle. LSU is also selling some notion of “long term NIL” versus short term cash, which is fucking rich. It’s the easiest shit to rebuff ever. LSU does not have a history to lean on of taking care of their own or of their degree making one fuck of a difference. They have former star players working as bouncers and shit. He clearly gave LSU a silent. The LSU staff and the LSU mouthpieces are telling anyone and everyone that these two recruitments are over. It’s bizarre but it is actually in line with their attempt to land a bunch of guys early and claim that they were going to dominate the recruiting cycle. Some sort of weird notion of manifesting their wishcasted future into existence. I think it is sad desperation for a poorly funded program that doesn’t have a better answer for the new world. I guess we’ll see, but if that is true, it’s both gratifying and hilarious.
  16. The SEC isn't going to dictate much of anything as it pertains to the Texas/OU game. That game is a crown jewel in the overall deal and numerous issues around it were discussed preemptively. The notion of flipping it to an end zone to end zone split is as foreign to all aspects of the Texas/OU game as literacy and taste are to Auburn and LSU.
  17. Nothing is ever "3 years out" anymore. Hire the right guy (or gal, depending upon sport and resume) and any program at Texas should be competing for everything within a two year cycle. NIL and the portal, coupled with the brand, location and other advantages should unlock everything a coach needs to flip a program in a two year window. That's also already been shown with other programs at Texas. If NIL and the portal had flung wide open when Sarkisian arrived at Texas, even the football team would have been working for a CFP spot in year two.
  18. Fuck it, let's count it. That's better to brag on than Dorian Leonard.
  19. Pickings look slim for #89. Wasn’t one of the Cash twins an 89? Seems like someone relevant from the 80’s was.
  20. This thread always delivers. It’s the same cycle of posters saying mostly the same thing over and over again. It’s like watching Seinfeld reruns for me. Holy shit.
  21. Listen, just because all of this is no doubt correct, it doesn’t make his views on Pierce and the program wrong.
  22. You’ve pushed a false equivalency as a given because it suits your agenda. Based on your posts, it’s clear you don’t think much change is needed, so pretending as if Tulowitzki is a legitimate candidate makes sense from your idiotic perspective. Canham has actually, you know, been the head of a program and had success. Tulowitzki hasn’t, and they’re not close to comparable options. So yeah, I don’t deal well with morons forming stupid opinions and then vomiting them onto threads.
  23. Come on, man. Give this one a little bit of thought before posting. No one should give a shit who the players want. That almost always fails. If Tulowitzki is even interviewed, someone should be reprimanded. There are far better choices out there. Hahahaha. What a fucking lazy take.
