  1. “Jack Boyette” is a new favorite. Holy shit. He throws out the “you’re not a coach!” trope. He talks about how close the ATM program is to Texas earnestly. It’s awesome. I assume he’s typing while wearing a whistle and Bike coach shorts. The dude who is already revising the beating they took to a hypothetical win has to be a troll. He can’t be real. I mean, I hope he is, but no way.
  2. Hold up. Woods is already in the portal? If he does enter, he’s the difference maker that they were keeping their powder dry for, I would assume. That would make a great defense next year dominant, given who is coming back already.
  3. Oh I remember the game. I don’t remember the mudhole thread, but I write a lot and don’t save any of it, although I guess I should. Maybe in the next one, I’ll predict a Sarkisian Slumber for the 3rd quarter and a late recovery. Of course, it might be for Oregon or Ohio State and I, unfortunately, don’t have a lot of confidence in either matchup against what our secondary looked like in the second half last night.
  4. I only write them if I feel like it and that’s usually when people are handwringing about an opponent. I don’t remember the KSU thread that you’ve now brought up a few times here as some bizarre attempt to mock me. Something in it got you worked up, I guess. For someone whose posts seem to frame things as them being “in” on the jokes, it’s odd that you fail to realize that the whole point of the mudhole posts isn’t to take them or the game too seriously. The entire nature of them is to be somewhat absurd. That said, part of the fun over the years has been watching the humorless simpletons show up to those threads, take them seriously, and chastise me for it. I’ve gotten negged by clowns on these threads before, especially if I post one and Texas loses. I get blamed for the loss and then people shriek and I laugh out loud. There’s still some humor for me with stuff like your post, even when Texas wins though.
  5. I’m seeing that the line has moved from -11 to -13.5 over the past few days. Obviously moving it to -14 or -14.5 would be kind of crazy, but this has reminded me a lot of the OU game week this past season. Lots of talking heads taking Clemson with no real reason behind that except they think Ewers is going to choke at home and that Klubnik will own Texas because it’s a “homecoming”. Right.
  6. I was listening to an interview by Finebaum with John Talty. Talty covered Bama for years and just published a book with Armen Ketayan called “The Price” about staying competitive in today’s CFB landscape. These guys live in a fucking bubble. They all seem to think that the rest of us just believe that Alabama has all of this money. What idiots outside of their mediocre state could possibly believe this? People in Mississippi and Louisiana, maybe? We’ve said it from the start - Bama was going to be one of the poors in the new era and fuck them for being the terrible fucking cheaters they’ve always been. Glory in this. Revel in their futility. It’s coming. Byrne’s pleading comes because Bama’s roster is under attack and they’re running out of money rapidly to defend it. They overpaid for their class they just signed. Apparently they went way over budget. Then they started getting roster pressure they weren’t ready for in the first place. The 5 star freshman CB that started the portal process was the straw that broke the camel’s back. They’ve promised him more than they have to keep him and cannot afford any further attrition without a cash infusion. So, desperation ensues and Byrne humiliates them by publicly panhandling. Talty and Finebaum both sounded somewhat despondent discussing it and it warmed my heart. I’m interested in seeing how Bama ranks in this next class. They’re no longer getting any kind of discount, allegedly, and they’re very cash poor. You add that to them declining in status due to on-field performance and it’s a potent mix. Bama fans and the pundits seem to think that top 5 classes at Bama are a God given right. This class is going to test that premise.
  7. Were you so fucked up during the Tim Purpura era that you’ve just blacked him out of your mind?
  8. That’s racist, IMO. Is he out of the doghouse? If not, then he certainly makes sense as someone who could be gone.
  9. I’m kind of baffled why many folks here just write off Butler. We really know very little about the guy, but that’s not exactly uncommon across the CFB world. Maybe he leaves, but that would be a surprise. If they wanted Dubose out, he would have announced his transfer last week. Maybe he leaves of his own volition, but they didn’t push him out and must see something they still like. Niblett is the contributor likely to exit. He’s pondered it publicly. Everyone talking about Blue being a question mark also has me flummoxed. The guy announced to everyone he was leaving before the season started, and sees himself in the NFL. I’ll be surprised if he stays and I’ll be shocked if he transfers. Is the assumption that this guy is going to appy logic to his process?
  10. If Lincoln Riley can’t make the idiot look good, who will? Maybe Sarkisian or Kiffin or Stein. It ain’t Mike Bobo. There are better options for the kind of ask these two shitheads are making.
  11. Fair question. I asked it myself. I don’t view this kind of shit as a good sign for the player fits either. If the guy’s brother isn’t good enough to merit NIL on his own, then fuck off, prima donna bitch. That’s money out of someone else’s wallet being forced into some lackey’s pocket. That ask needs to be coming from someone a lot better than Zach Branch. That motherfucker needs to be paying his brother’s freight out of his own stash I am now rooting against both of these guys and hope Georgia overpays to have both of them fail. Is Carrington still there?
  12. Do you expect the team to be competitive this year or are they still a ways away?
  13. A man gotta have a code. It’s somewhat funny, Ebenezer.
  14. I’m not reading over there enough to understand what’s happening with that poster. Is she actually attractive? Why is she always in the hospital? She’s otherwise a terrible poster from what I have read.
  15. Is that actually him?
  16. You guys are too poor to be doing that. There are some big $$$ NIL schools working on Mendoza. It will be crazy if he winds up at UCLA.
  17. How many responses to that know-nothing dildo are you going to provide before you realize that it is a strange game and the only way to win is not to play? Sounds like someone came in from the top ropes just as they'd settled on Michigan. I don't think that guy is worth a dime, but good luck to all of them.
  18. Yeah, he's been on a heater with typos, missing words, misspelling words, homophone issues, you name it. I had a business meeting with the guy yesterday and he seemed fine. We went to a happy hour afterwards and my theory is that he just plowed right on through and turned it into a bender that hasn't ended.
  19. I read and listen to all kinds of shit. I find myself more bored with talking heads who constantly agree with me than I do some of the idiots coming from all over the place.
  20. I find myself often stunned by how old some of those guys over there are. @Armybrat would be just one of legion septuagenarian - nonagenarians over there. They almost outnumber the posters using their real names.
  21. While this is sometimes true, it's absolutely not a truth. Many of the guys at both the HS and portal levels are considering "likeliest to develop me and/or scheme me into The League" as pretty fucking important. Saban and Alabama have been getting discounts for years. Texas isn't often the highest paying competitor for a player with NIL. Michigan didn't pay anything for several key transfers during Harbaugh's last season. The list goes on.
  22. They’re being awfully methodical. My current suspicion is that they have a plan with some players who are still playing important games. But maybe that’s just my hope.
  23. 1) This isn’t English. I don’t want to hear about talk to text and such. This post is bad in multiple spots. 2) Ted Cruz was once hosted in a SEZ suite near us, for the Alabama game. Sydney Carton didn’t even heckle the guy. Do we know where Dane Key landed? I like him more than anyone else who has entered the portal so far.
