  1. The reality is, your coaching staff thought he was better than the rest of your options. Maybe you guys kill it in the portal, I don't know, but that's a perilous path in terms of baseline dependency given that many other schools are in the same boat. If someone enters the portal who is a true stud, it's not like that bidding war won't be insane and you guys might not be armed to win it.
  2. Just so we're clear, you guys are cool cool cool with losing Walker, a young starter at CB, and Vickers? Lots of faith in Jai Valai to really work and develop those other guys, I guess, huh?
  3. This going to have to help dampen NIL enthusiasm at Missouri. This guy was paid a fortune to go there and he did jack shit, pouted, and left. The guy put up some stats in one game - against UMass. They weren't super impressed with how he handled himself in the locker room or offseason, supposedly. He thinks he should have been starting because ... 5 star. So he'll go get a bag somewhere else. I assume OU would like another shot with him. Or maybe that is just me hoping for more comedy.
  4. McAfee is also a polarizing figure on Gameday as well. I think he’s great, but a lot of old guys, at heart, at least, want him off of their Saturday morning lawns. Check out the next Gameday to probably be disgusted.
  5. If the Purdue safety doesn’t go to ND, it’s been made clear that Texas is really interested, allegedly.
  6. Hatchett, Walker, Anderson and Arnold were starters. They weren’t going to pay to keep Arnold but the other three hurt in some ways. While their WR/TE situation sucked, they didn’t want Sharp to leave. There are shittier guys on the roster besides the starting TE and leading WR. Vickers wasn’t some huge blow, but he played and guys behind him are still on the roster.
  7. Even talk to text is more creative than 95% of this board. Sucking out plaid is terrific. It’s like working in hydraulics.
  8. People involved at Auburn went out of their way to ruin Harsin. They did this because he wouldn’t negotiate a soft exit after they moneywhipped him into the job and made a bunch of false promises. They turned on him overnight and they did everything they could to ruin him. I am not a Harsin person. I know very little of him. I do know people who have been involved with Auburn over the years. That program is extremely evil. My reaction when someone reveals that they’re an Auburn fan is akin to that of when someone declares that they’re a Baylor or Penn State fan. Fuck that place and its program’s existence.
  9. He has problems and he quit on the team in the middle of the year.
  10. To be clear, this was investigated thoroughly and they were both exonerated. Auburn insiders attempted to ruin both people in order to be able to fire Harsin for cause. Auburn attempted to destroy a marriage, a friendship, and two lives so that they could attempt to find another coach on the cheap. The woman was guilty of being attractive and competent. Perpetuating this kind of shit every time this dude comes up helps no one and aligns people who do it with pieces of shit at Auburn. Look it up. Then stop doing shit like this.
  11. One of the funniest things I’ve observed in the last two weeks is the serious ineptitude of Venables. They panicked and thought they might sign too many guys, so they trapdoored two recruits just ahead of signing day. Now, per their own boards, they’ve already lost 5 guys to the portal that they didn’t have in their math. Whoops.
  12. That’s absurd as a premise regarding the $15M for the portal. 1) $15M lands a complete roster for a year. Not Texas or Ohio State level, but next tier. 2) There isn’t enough quality in the portal to merit spending 1/3 of that. Texas was aggressive last year and didn’t spend close to that. There is a ton of misinformation out there about the portal and its trappings at this point.
  13. OU has 12 guys in the portal so far. That includes a starting CB, their leading receiver in Sharp, Nick Anderson, their 5 star starting QB, and two OLs who started this season. That’s not nothing.
  14. Yet another obvious bust that this board had a better handle on than any service.
  15. Texas A&M now has lost 17 players to the portal and 2 declaring early for the draft. They signed 25 guys in this recruiting cycle. I have no idea how many seniors are out of eligibility and moving on. I also have no idea how many scholarship players they had this season. That all said, I’m assuming they have quite a few guys they’re going to need to transfer to ATM or they’re going to be very short again. This was a problem last year and they ended up having to jagger up. If these guys don’t crush it in the portal, they are truly going to suck next season.
  16. Update on the greatest recruiting class of all time: Looking back at The Greatest Recruiting Class of All-Time, HOLLAAAA!!!!: Walter Nolen - gone Evan Stewart - gone LT Overton - gone Denver Harris - gone Jacoby Mathews - gone Anthony Lucas - gone PJ Williams - gone Jake Johnson - gone Smoke Bouie - gone Marquis Groves-Killebrew - gone Chris Marshall - gone Bobby Taylor - gone Ish Harris - gone Ethan Moczulski - gone Shemar Stewart - stayed - leaving early - draft pick Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy - gone Conner Weigman - gone Enai White - gone Bryce Anderson - stayed Kam Dewberry - gone Le'Veon Moss - stayed Malick Sylla - gone Donovan Green - stayed -got fat and slow after being hurt, getting married. rumored to be leaving in winter 2024 window Hunter Erb - gone Martrell Harris - gone Theo Melin Ohrstrom - stayed Jadon Scarlett - stayed - 8 snaps all year Jarred Kerr - stayed - 35 snaps all year Noah Thomas - stayed Mark Nabou - stayed 21/30. Moss, Nabou, Ohrstrom, Anderson, Thomas are the only true producers to have stuck it out. Anderson was a borderline 5 star and now might not be drafted. The others were mid-to-bottom of the class and have outshined the heralded highly ranked guys. This is the kind of class that destroys a program.
  17. There are some games in there where I’m going to have a hard time cheering for anyone. USC, Duke, Tulane and Navy, sure. Bielema or the whiners from SCar? Woof. I will hold my nose and cheer for LSU versus Baylor. Michigan over Bama? Bleh. Arkansas over Texas Tech? Terrible. I don’t really care about Vanderbilt and Ga Tech, I guess.
  18. Hopefully rehab. 33 straight hours? Yeah, well…
  19. I don’t think he’s in any danger right now and his team looking like dogshit against UConn on defense probably doesn’t move the needle. Poor conference and tournament performance, obviously, probably changes all of that. The biggest thing about RT’s time so far is that it just seems like everyone is resigned to waiting for it to collapse without wanting to see that happen. Everybody likes him and hopes he can make it work. Reminiscent of Napier at UF in many facets.
  20. Just like last year, I would expect the feeling of all hell breaking loose through Wednesday this week. Not for Texas outside of guys realizing, with some help, that PT is likely elsewhere. Nonetheless, going to be kind of crazy. Texas thinks they’re ready with players lined up. I guess we’ll see. The LT from Rice is supposed to be pretty good. I haven’t watched him. OU thinks he’s theirs.
  21. How many stages of aggie sadness are there? I feel like we’re past 5 or 7.
  22. What about it? They have depth and they appear to be developing well. Start bringing in transfers there and it isn’t hard to think that it could rankle some promising players.
  23. I’ve been following a little on their boards. They seem to think Lane goes home to ASU.
  24. Clancy’s screwed up our reservation on Thursday because of event related shit. Anyone got a can’t miss place that isn’t seafood that might have something available on short notice?
