  1. Colin Simmons is one of the highest paid non-QB players in all of 2025 for the duration of the season. There is nothing to worry about regarding his commitment to Texas through this calendar year.
  2. Anybody got an opinion on Prime Target? I’ve never heard of it but the trailer is interesting and we’re looking for a new series.
  3. Curtis Luper, geez. That dude is old, but he can coach and recruit. He had one of the weirdest college playing careers of all time. Like all, all time.
  4. I guess that's some notion of "economics"? If it is helpful, here are the quick basics of offensive roster building right now, with names to frame the categories: QB - HS 3 star or below, $0-$50k (Owens); HS 4 star or above, high 6 figures (Bell); Transfer G5 or lower proven starter, mid to high 6 figures (Roark - IU guy from Ohio); Transfer P4 proven starter, well into 7 figures (Mateer); Transfer reclamation project, $0-$100k (JT Daniels) TB - HS 3 star or below, $0-$100 (Wisner)k; HS 4 star or above, mid 6 figures (Gibson); Transfer G5 or lower proven starter, $0-low 6 figures (Skattebo - ASU allegedly got him for free from Sac State); Transfer P4 proven starter, mid to high 6 figures (Judkins); Transfer reclamation project, $0-$100k (Zach Evans) FB/Hybrid TE - HS 3 star or below, $0 (Winston); HS 4 star or above, $0-$50k (??); Transfer G5 or lower proven starter, $0-$50k (Bruckler, Ole Miss); Transfer P4 proven starter, $50k-$200k (??); Transfer reclamation project, $0 (Megwa) TE - HS 3 star or below, $0-$50k (Randle, Shannon); HS 4 star or above, low-mid 6 figures (Townsend, Armstrong); Transfer G5 or lower proven starter, low-mid 6 figures (Pittman Jr); Transfer P4 proven starter, mid to high 6 figures (Hasz, Klare); Transfer reclamation project, $0-$200k (Niblack, think the bigger number) WR - HS 3 star or below, $0-$50k (Dubose); HS 4 star or above, low to high 6 figures (McCutcheon being lower, Wingo/Lockett/Ffrench being higher, DKM being an outlier not worth tracking for others); Transfer G5 or lower proven starter, low to mid 6 figures (Neyor, Bolden); Transfer P4 proven starter, mid 6 to low 7 figures (Golden, Mitchell, Bond); Transfer reclamation project, $100k-$250k (Stewart, Hudson lol) IOL - HS 3 star or below, $0k (Texas has like 5 of these on the roster or just signed); HS 4 star or above, $25k-$250k (Campbell); Transfer G5 or lower proven starter, $50k-$250k (ATM has a few of these types); Transfer P4 proven starter, low-mid 6 figures (McLaughlin, Brailsford); Transfer reclamation project, $0-$100k (Dewberry) OT - HS 3 star or below, $0-$50k (Wright); HS 4 star or above, low-mid 6 figures (Baker, Fasusi); Transfer G5 or lower proven starter, low-mid 6 figures (Onianwa); Transfer P4 proven starter, mid-high 6 figures (Pritchett); Transfer reclamation project, $0-$100k (Tykieast Crawford) There are one-offs in some instances at these spots where breaks are given due to homesickness or a convicted desire that a particular program will get the player into the NFL.
  5. Now here we are moving to distinctions without a real difference. Good grief.
  6. Boy, this thread, you idiots, and what you’re all doing to the rest of us. JFC.
  7. Gerry on the OL this morning: The Texas OL recruiting board: The OT's, IOL's & swing prospects OnTexasFootball takes an updated look at the 2026 offensive line recruiting board with Oregon commit and 4-star++ right tackle Kodi Greene (Santa Ana, Calif./Mater Dei) having set up his official visit for June 13-15th. Texas currently has nine offensive lineman locked in with official visit dates for June, and that number is expected to go as high as 12 in the coming weeks. With one commitment, there are four or five spots remaining with a class of six being very possible coming off classes of signing three (2024) and four (2025). OTF breaks down the board by position along the offensive line. There are three position groups - tackles, IOL's and swing players. The tackles ... IMG Academy OnTexasFootball ranking: 4-star Texas OV: TBD Where it stands: Kyle Flood was by IMG Academy in late January. The Denver native has been on campus before, and is expected to return.
  8. I’m not a cheapass and I agree. I go to Vegas several times a year. The past few years, most of the big casinos are setting the craps minimums at $50 during the busier periods. Fuck that. Yep. The second the table goes cold, it’s pretty easy to lose $1000 at a $25 table. Quadrupling that would be a problem.
  9. To reiterate what I was told and wrote about on other threads, everything is going to be based upon on the premise of “program trajectory”, similarly to Pierce in baseball. Go to the tournament and lose on the first weekend? Flat to negative trajectory. Get to the Sweet 16 or better? Things are looking up. Don’t make the tournament? GTFO. The only gray area is a round of 32 finish. I pass this along from someone who is probably more important with next steps than anyone else.
  10. It’s not a 3 year rebuild. You can scream it at the top of your lungs and just look dumber every time you do it. Get a fucking grip.
  11. By the time my wife was going to have our fourth and final, we were kind of out of names that we liked. I went for broke and threw a few out there that I thought were cool. Titan was one of them. I did not win.
  12. Hey man, the first post, I think “everyone has a bad post every now and then “ and now this. HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!
  13. You implied consensus or majority. The developments after seeing multiple years of performance isn't what was being discussed either. Listen, all of you idiots doing drive-bys with fake receipts can get fucked with this shit. Vague references and "people here" are fucking dumb. Post receipts or get fucked. FIFY
  14. Bijan Robinson didn't come to Texas because of Bryan Carrington, no matter how loud Gerry wishes to scream otherwise. Yes, we've seen creeping history revision as it pertains to Sarkisian's original staff and @Rimbo is full of shit with his inference here. Just to reset, and folks can go find the original shit if they want to, this is what was rumored when Sarkisian was hired. The source who leaked this was at Bama, in now an HC elsewhere, was a controversial beloved player at Texas, at QB, has red hair, and is friends with some of our friends who cover Texas: -Milwee, basically a mentee of Sarkisian and someone trusted completely with the QB room -Keeping Drayton, in part to stabilize whatever value could be found on the current roster -WR - Colbert, the former USC receiver who was viewed (maybe he still is?) as a good coach and recruiter at USC; also perhaps Holman Wiggins -OL - Kyle Flood -TE/STs - Jeff Banks -DL - Bo Davis -DE - ??? -LB - Mike Stoops -CB - Terry Joseph -S - Blake Gideon -DC - Will Muschamp Muschamp's wife shut down Muschamp to DC after Muschamp had verbally agreed to coming back. Gideon was his guy that he pushed for at the S spot. Ultimately, the WR coaching stuff was conjecture. Sarkisian wasn't interested in Wiggins, as it turned out. Donor revolt led to Stoops not getting the LB gig. The hires people had concerns over were keeping the WR coach, Joseph, and Milwee. There weren't many people complaining about Gideon outside of his time here as a player and his minimal experience.
  15. Not sure how I whiffed on that one.
  16. Apparently @Wulaw Horn carries some sort of weight with the combine runners as Hayden Conner was inexplicably invited. Wow. Guys not invited include Blue, Gbenda, Holmes and Bolden. Not sure who I missed other than those.
  17. I wouldn't be surprised if they get a good one in the spring portal period.
  18. The last two pages, it's like a clarion call for all of the morons to assemble and just start rapid firing panic posts and snark until the chambers are emptied.
  19. I am super excited for Jai Valai Part Deux.
  20. On paper. 2022 on-field performance has been pretty strong so far, so who knows?
  21. That's not what any of wanted to see.
  22. From the ones I've watched or read about, they usually never see the mountain side coming. I read one account of a tourist "round trip" flight from New Zealand to overlooking Antarctica that was really disturbing. It's worth at least the Wikipedia read if you want to be more disturbed about things when you board a plane. The thread on the basketball board during the interim period was pretty fucking level-headed about what was transpiring at the time. You're posting as if you saw it straight and the rest of us didn't get it. Everyone knew that getting past the Sweet Sixteen meant the following few seasons were probably fucked. There were like two imbeciles on the thread touting Terry. So what should everyone have done? "Take it to the streets" or some such bullshit? Flood the AD with angry phone calls predicting the program's downfall immediately following an Elite 8? I realize that it is a matter of survival for you that you have to reduce every concept down the most basic, naive, and dipshitted way of thinking about it. You are a simple idiot, so your primitive method makes sense. While I often find it entertaining, it's also sometimes tiring.
  23. Texas is going to have its pick of the litter at OL. I'm interested to see where this winds up because, man, there's a good chance that they're going to have to tell some guys "no" that anyone would take. Circumstances might resemble that same situation at DT, WR, and Edge.
  24. Or steady crashing directly into a cliff side? Those are the second most disturbing Air Disasters episodes, surpassed only by the ones with midair collisions.
  25. That fat dipshit cannot help but claim that he already knew about the deommitment. It’s a compulsion for his dumb ass.
