  1. My son went to San Clemente High School for a year before we moved back to Austin. He played Freshman Football and we were forced to buy season tickets for the Varsity football games. San Darnold was the QB and my son had his Mom for his PE teacher. We were excited to go to the game and the first play Darnold threw a 50 yard TD pass. The band started playing Boomer Sooner, which was SC's fight song (even had San Clemente words for it) We never went to another game and gave away our tickets
  2. Do St Thomas students still throw these at the St Thomas /Strake football games?
  3. Their engineering school is becoming as watered down as the rest of the "Diploma Mill" school. My son applied there and was accepted into their honors engineering college. (He also got accepted into Cockrell at UT - Thank God). They won't even let freshmen declare a major now. Freshmen are accepted conditionally and must apply for their discipline for their Sophomore year. A UT Austin counselor told us they do that because it forces the student to spend extra time and tuition costs, basically making them take classes outside of their field so they can maximize revenue. aggy is just a money grubbing crack whole, so they can pay for Jimbo and now Buzz.
  4. Weingarten's? Damn you must be as old as I am. Grew up off Washington Ave/Waugh Dr. where we shopped at the old Weingarten's on West Gray in the 70's. I think they all shut down in the mid 80's
  5. FYI, I was at JC Penney (near the Men's Dept) at Barton Creek Mall this weekend and they have a ton of UT Gear closeouts. Bought a couple of licensed hoodies for $12.50ea.
  6. Almost lost my Cheerios.... US gymnast snaps both legs during floor routine
  7. If that's the case, My oldest wants to transfer to UT Austin from UT Dallas, can you put in a good word for him? Thanks in advance...
  8. We were all very excited and even shed a few tears. For the last two weeks I have been walking around with that feeling of hopelessness. As much as I tried to convince myself that my son being an aggy wasn't going to be that bad, I would wake up in the middle of the night feeling sick to my stomach and would get up and get a glass of bourbon. Went though a bottle each of Angel's Envy, Knob Creek and Makers Mark.
  9. Yes I know. Thanks for the positive vibes.
  10. Just wanted to share a status report from the discussion from a couple of weeks ago. My son was accepted into UT Austin and the Cockrell School of Engineering majoring in Chemical Engineering. Lots of excited yells this morning in our house. We're proud of him and also thankful that UT saved our son from a life of being an aggy.....
  11. I vote for getting bitten by an Alligator
