  1. can confirm. Drunkest I've ever been outside of Morgantown was in Athens.
  2. Nicolosi is absolutely carving up their defense
  3. gotta love rivalry game chaos, because this isn't exactly a strong CSU team.
  4. 3rd INT of the night for WVU and that's ballgame.
  5. Colorado State finding a way to win this would be absolutely hilarious.
  6. not hating the way this Backyard Brawl is going.
  7. West is going to be wild this year. As a Canes fan I'm more nervous about any of Colorado, Dallas, and Vegas than I am anyone in the East right now.
  8. has a coach ever been fired BEFORE coaching a single game for a team?
  9. thankfully my mountaineers won after a pretty damn long storm delay, but was pulling for the App version as well. saw the Horns knock off Texas during the delay. 1 - that's awesome, and 2 - thank fuck we don't play you guys this year.
  10. will admit I'm drunk as hell already, but if we lose to the old dudes from Trading Places this is gonna get ugly and I might get arrested. Will post the mug shot if I do. I mean back in the day this is accurate. Kindof annoyed that our coach didn't at least offer the son of a school legend.
  11. yep, that was the obvious move for the longest time and I honestly think all the last minute talk was more about getting the B1G to come forward and make something work. as for UNC, as much as I hate those pricks, they're going to get an invite from one of the two big boys eventually. Might not be full value initially if it's the B1G, but a lot of these decisions aren't made by the ADs but by the University presidents with some input from the TV execs. It's also the reason I don't think UVA will be left out to dry when, if actual interest in the program was taken into account, my reaction if I were a conference exec would be "new phone, who this?"
  12. it drives me nuts. He's by all accounts an absolutely great guy... but he's such a terrible fucking coach. He's completely over his head in any kind of big boy conference and he's garbage when it comes to development.
  13. that's twice now already this game they've hit GG during a slide and it's gone uncalled, the latest one was just frigin blatant.
  14. honestly I fully expect we get fucking embarrassed here and start the season 1-4. Might actually get the admin to do what they should have done last offseason and shitcan the coach.
  15. Can confirm. And the acoustics in that place are godly.
  16. Duke, though that kindof ties in with the overall point of "Stanford would prefer the ACC".
  17. oh hell yes, get back to playing VT, UL, and Pitt, and then bring NCSU into the fold? sign me up guarantee I'd be at the first WVU game at Carter Finley. And the Pack would be a great fit in the Big 12 honestly, one of the most fun fanbases I've ever interacted with. this is the only game I've ever been to at their stadium though:
  18. Exactly this. The biggest problem with the ACC is that they really have only 3 brands (4 if you include ND, I don't) with much of a following and a desire to be competitive that are at all attractive, and 2 of the 3 are actively trying to leave the conference. Their TV value is right about the same as the current Big 12, and that's WITH those 3. The second they lose two of them the value craters. They have 4 more programs that are actively trying to be competitive (NCSU, VT, Pitt, UL) but just don't seem to be all that appealing from a conference expansion standpoint for various reasons, aside from a "break glass in case of emergency" option. On the other hand there's a metric fuckton of dead weight in that conference that drags it down in a big way. And that's without me even touching on the arrogance of UNC and UVA here. Those two and Cal/Tree are a perfect damn match in that regard.
  19. Speaking to some people that I know that have the right connections in the area this is very much the case, especially when it comes to the Heels. UVA has more than its share of elitist snobbery but the general consensus I've gotten from some of the people I know is that UNC very much would prefer to be the ones calling the shots as much as possible in whatever conference they are in. The 100 million dollar question is if their egos will be willing to put up with being paid significantly less than they potentially could be paid in the B1G/SEC in order to keep calling the shots in the ACC. They're already the clear #4 of the remaining power conferences left, and that's going to only be exacerbated when FSU and Clemson bolt even if the only landing place is the Big 12 (it won't be). Are they really willing to make less than fucking West Virginia when there's even a partial value payment from the B1G out there to be had? The amazing part is that I'm not sure the answer is "no" to that simply from an ego standpoint with these guys.
  20. hey, I apologized for all that a while back... the moonshine just hits different sometimes
  21. I think the death blow is whenever UNC, UVA, and whoever else the B1G wants to take leave as well. Don't think that's coming any time soon unless all the schools that are looking for greener pastures decide to piggyback on FSU's fraud claim to nuke the GoR from orbit.
