  1. The 2nd poster I was quoting was talking about Brown at the edge position, so my comments were about Edge not DT.
  2. Brown is undersized for Edge based on the IT Humidor report that dropped this afternoon. So he probably wasn't gonna be a priority for the coaching staff if the humidor report is true.
  3. Reading the replies to this tweet, some out fans are mad about the BBQ:
  4. WTH??!! The 9.95ers have always said Matthews is a 2-team race between Texas & Bama.
  5. Why does 247 have Brown rated so lowly? The other big 3 national recruiting sites have him as a mid (on3 & Rivals) or low (ESPN) 4-star recuit, while 247 has him as mid 3-star recruit.
  6. Wow didn't realize (or maybe I had forgotten) Jeff Howe was at IT before 247.
  7. According to Gerry Hamilton & the other IT mods, Gullette is considered an elite freak athlete that is take regardless of his season-ending injury.
  8. I just read that Alex Dunlap from OB thinks that Payton Kirkland is a terrible prospect. Dunlap is such a useless scout for OB. I remember a couple weeks after Agiye Hall had already committed to UT that Dunlap admitted he hadn't even bothered to watch film on Hall, so he didn't know how good Hall was.
  9. I looked at on3's 2023 Team recruiting rankings last night & I was SHOCKED to see how much better OU is doing in recruiting than Aggy. OU is only a couple spots out of the top 10, while Aggy's class is ranked in the 50's.
  10. Interesting.... so IT, Horns247, & OB are all saying Kirkland is trending to Texas, BUT Kirkland is being very vocal on social media that it's fake news emphasising that he have never ever visted Texas.
  11. LMAO!! Shelby is already 6-5 235LB as a 17 year old going into his senior year of High School. He's definitely an Edge, not a off-the-ball LB.
  12. Nahlin's full post on UT's '23 WR class: Just to get it off my chest I won’t be in love with a Cook, Hale, Niblett, Wilson class. Cook will be very good but concerns on hands have merit. Niblett is as raw as any WR I’ve ever seen ranked that high. I see a corner when I watch his tape. Hale’s ability to separate is a concern. He might be Theo Wease. I like him and would take him but he isn’t a no-doubter. I like Wilson. I wish Pettaway was in the class because he adds floor and ceiling. I feel the same about MH-P from a Whittington standpoint. IT poster reply: So if in the Fall we’re sitting at Hale , Niblett , Cook , and Wilson with a lot of big names off the board is there a few guys you’d fill with the 5th spot? Assuming no MHP Nahlin's reply: I’d be more tempted to find a portal guy. Texas should have proof of concept every way it would matter to a WR.I personally would have had Wilson or Hale as takes, but not both, and would have considered Niblett more in the ATH category that MH-P was figured into for a while.I urge everyone to watch Niblett then MH-P before responding.
  13. Hmmm.... 247 has Lang as an OT, while on3 has him as an IOL.
  14. Full Josh Pate segment: Analysis from 247 poster: That was a great listen. It was pretty easy to figure out who he was talking about. For those that didn't listen, he basically said that Jordan Addison isn't getting what he was promised. That this stuff will come out in the open in the future. Also implied pretty confidently that there is a program recruiting much higher than their norm and that it's going to result with locker room problems and transfers over the next year to two years. Assuming he's talking about aggy which it's pretty clear he is, he stated that this particular program promised recruits a bunch of ridiculous money and in their contracts, there are a bunch of stipulations for these players to actually get the money which was never relayed to them. For example, they only start getting payments if they are starting, or if they meet certain qualifications. Now if the player and family feels pissed about about being lied to, they are stating "well you signed the contract". Mentioned that it may not affect players that live near home but recruits that moved from OOS that had no interest in the program and simply were there for transactional reasons, will likely transfer. Makes sense of the rumors of Walter Nolan wanting out. It also falls in line with seeing how they are struggling to recruit big time right now. They went from signing the best class ever in the history of recruiting coming off of a 8-4 season to struggling to get recruits on campus a few months later. Josh Pate mentioned these recruits will talk to current players and it makes a lot more sense now why more guys are not falling for their "commit now or the offer is gone" pitch. He also mentioned that there are schools that are doing it the right way. That their pitch to players is that we aren't guaranteeing you anything but that we have the structure and resources in place for you to actually monetize on your name and build a brand if you come in and do the right things. Sounds pretty much like what Texas is doing. In addition, we see to be making an effort to create a baseline for all players to be payed and then creating opportunities for the ones that are producing to get the bigger dollar offers through all the opportunities in Austin. In summary, he basically said that a ton of coaches, GAs, and recruiting department personnel have told him about the bullshit at USC and aggy and how it's going to get exposed for the next few years.
  15. I think you're confusing star ratings & rankings. Regardless, the 1 thing that Rivals.com does right over the other 3 national recruiting sites is that they have simplified star ratings. Rivals has 1 rating for 5-star (6.1), 1 rating for high 4-star (6.0), 1 rating for mid 4-star (5.9), 1 rating for low 4-star (5.8), 1 rating for high 3-star (5.7), & so on. I wish the other 3 sites would simplify the star ratings the same way.
  16. ESPN maybe since they already Hale as a high 4-star. But the other 3 national recruiting sites have Hale as a low or mid 4-star, so them giving him a 5th star would be a big jump.
  17. If that's the case, UT should pass on both Shanahan & McVay imo. Between the OL already on campus & the OL committed to the '23 class, UT has plenty of IOL. They don't have enough surefire OTs imo.
  18. UT was recruiting Cameron Cook to be the 2nd RB in their recruiting class back in the Spring. Once that DeSoto RB committed, he lost his spot in the class.
