  1. Well duh. Jack straw and I are going to drink beer while G does the work Boss moves.
  2. @Paco is probably going to subcontract it to G Money anyway.
  3. I had a couple of classes at the Pinnacle back in the 90s when I was fresh out of the Army and not sure what exactly I wanted to do. Great view from those classrooms, not very conducive to learning. Always seemed a little odd standing out there in the middle of nowhere.
  4. According to my Ambient station in the back yard I got exactly 1 inch of rain, making exactly 8 inches for the month of October. Was .98 when I woke up and the last light shower we had pushed to exactly 1. My (minor) OCD is satisfied.
  5. Saw this last night and thought it was good. Obviously they couldn't leave it vague like the actual story, but thought they handled the historical aspect well. Story was told in three chapters each from the point of view of one of the principles and culminating in the duel which was really well done. No punches pulled on the brutality of the time, but the characters were interesting and pretty well fleshed out. I'd recommend it unless you're squeamish about blood or rape. Obviously they aren't speaking French but that doesn't take anything away as far as I'm concerned. It left me thinking about a few things which is nice in a movie.
  6. Yeah unfortunately there's a fair percentage of dudes who couldn't get laid in the proverbial women's prison with a handful of pardons.
  7. Can confirm. 4.58 per the Ambient station in my back yard.
  8. Kind of glad this popped up again. My CPAP (2nd one) is pretty old. Maybe 8-9 years. I feel like maybe it's not doing the job any more or my stuff has changed. Should I have another sleep study? I understand the newer machines can report back to the provider. I think mine has a smart card that I can send it but not sure. Just wondering if I need a new one and if I'll have to do another sleep study as my last one was like 15 years ago.
  9. Thank God all I had to do was crank the come-along once my grandfather got in there and did the dirty work.
  10. Historically the most powerful ship in the Navy have born the name of States. Makes sense. What carries more destructive power than a ballistic missile sub?
  11. Anybody happen to see Jay Haas fly his drive through a tree and into the golf bag on one of the caddie's shoulders on the short par 4 yesterday? I can't remember the hole. Was switching over to golf channel between innings of the Astros game and caught it. 309 yard driveable par 4. Group on the green waves them to hit. Caddie is standing behind the tree off to the right of the green. Haas flies it through the tree and directly into the mouth of the bag. Caddie knew it was coming close and was standing there frozen. He got a free drop and I think he ended up making birdie. One in a million shot, doc!
  12. Man when I first saw that picture I thought Cunningham had gone full hippie on us.
  13. And none of that has anything to do with a scrimmage kick. It's an entirely different rule. One he has the ball in his hands it's dead right there regardless of momentum or any of that. If he only touches it then it stays live but due to the illegal touching (best penalty ever) if the receiving team picks it up and runs with it, they are basically ensured of a positive outcome because the worst that can happen is the ball comes back to the spot where the illegal touching occurs. There are no possession rules on a scrimmage kick except the muff rule is in effect.
  14. 3.29 inches in Manchaca on the Ambient weather station.
  15. Thomas has to sit in the afternoon. His putter is a serious liability.
  16. I bet I can back in faster than you can park forward.
  17. Willy Jack is hiding some huge tracts of land under her loose fitting clothing. I love this show.
  18. But probably too old to participate.
  19. It's an incredible time to be alive if we can navigate the societal changes. I wish I were a few years younger as I won't be around to see the really cool stuff.
  20. Commercial space flight doesn't just include tourism. The applications are virtually limitless if the price is right. Giant solar arrays that beam power back to the ground via microwave or some other medium are the ultimate in clean power. Years away but no longer just the realm of science fiction. Asteroid mining and in orbit processing and manufacturing would be a game changer. Obviously we're years away from that but smaller scale space industry is close to being profitable if the price of lifting material is reasonable. Not to mention it's basically an exponential growth curve once the first facilities come on line. You can build in orbit and thus your lifting costs are nothing except for people and people are light. You can even make your own oxygen and water. Still probably decades away from even beginning to be viable but we are watching the first steps. If there is a chance at a profit, industry will make it happen eventually.
  21. My neighbor is in that top picture. She actually sent the pic to me a while back when we were talking about NDT for some random reason. She still looks pretty much the same except older, married and with two kids. Cool chick.
  22. Paging @wd40 to the courtesy phone.
  23. Saw it Saturday and enjoyed it very much. Fun movie with some interesting themes that actually make you think a little if you feel like it.
