  1. No idea and not looking it up, saw it on his list of publications that Xian posted from UT"s website: https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/classics/faculty/thubbard
  2. He got his first academic award before most of us were born (1979) so he is using a picture of himself from, at best the '90's, which is amusing.
  3. i feel like you can perhaps infer that if there can be any interpretation of pro-underage (as we call it and know it) in his publication called "''Sex in the Gym: Athletic Trainers and Pedagogical Pederasty,'' 7 (2003)"
  4. Lisa at 15 reading "The Bell Jar" when Sylvia Plath puts her head in an oven "I think I'll go by Lis, pronounced "Leese" to commemorate becoming complex and multi-faceted today." This is kinda fun; I see why you enjoy it BT.
  5. Lis and Pete went through weird teenage phases where they were Donnie Darko weirdos and read every book written by Chuck Palahniuk then went to college where they studied hard and used academic success as a cover to never have to think of their crippling sexual identity issues except that one time they shamefully cruised in a bathroom or hooked up with a bro, respectively, and I promise you neither has ever finished Infinite Jest. They are the worst.
  6. This is embarrassing scholarship from my Alma mater and while it may be protected speech and I'm principally resigned to be on the professors side on this one, I think the students are right here and I'm rooting for them from a moral perspective.
  7. Worse, I think an unintended consequence of being extra-woke to the point where it causes more harm and division than any sort of awareness and change, is that from what I've seen and heard all the Peloton owners and fans of the brand are digging in and circling the wagons to defend Peloton/the brand/their lifestyle and product versus returning their bikes or canceling their memberships (unlike what happened with Equinox when the were outed a few months ago because owners through a Trump fundraiser, which is more in line with twitter/woketivism).
  8. I chortled when Danish said "I basically rewrote the whole thing" after the rousing success of Son of Anton + middle out compression = 150% network strength and a huge hologram. It was said almost quietly that you could have easily missed it and it was the perfect Danish-ism coming off of his "This is not my fault, I barely touched it" when the AI was the problem.
  9. To be honest, I understand how sensitive people (not even fat, but maybe just an average amount of chubby/unhealthy and not just poor folks, but solidly middle or lower middle class e.g. not LifeTime or Equinox afforders but maybe LA Fitness or the other cheaper gym memberships) could get their feelings hurt by these and other ads (the aforementioned Lexus December to Remember, etc.) and they have the right to speak out, to boycott, to voice their hurt, etc. I also think that luxury or aspiration companies who cater to a segmented, very defined demographic (e.g. certain wealth, lifestyle, luxury, etc.) should be able to target their demographic as they see fit as long as they aren't purposefully hurting or offending people and so I appreciate Peloton's non-apology apology. "I said what I said and if you don't get it, our product isn't for you and that's okay for all parties involved. Maybe it will be for you one day or maybe one day we will come out with a product for you and then the message will be different."
  10. Seriously!? I’d like to see ol Donny Trump try to wiggle out of this all the while engage in the exact same thing that has got his neck in a noose
  11. Agreed he will, and when he does he will solidify the Dem candidate for 2020 and it will be a poor man’s Obama/Biden centrist decorum administration that loosely follows the Trump dementia theme where Kamala the cop is probably the Dick Cheney running things while old Joe is waking up at 4 am to walk the whitehouse in Skechers like it’s a mall.
  12. She was a garbage cop first. Liz >> KH.
  13. Come on guys, this episode was hilarious. I lol'ed at "You never kiss me" and "we coulda run this town but you brew it, mister" jin yang to monica.
  14. DFW: Terminal A has Salt Lick at the skybridge (A16?). That's always solid. CLT: Decent BBQ too, forget what it's called.
  15. The non-demographic for Peloton bikes are upset at an ad for Peloton bikes! For more nonsensical outrage, tune in at 9!
  16. I'd Like to See Ol Donny Trump Wriggle His Way Out of THIS Jam!
  17. Also Yang is super likable and approachable (no tie, doesn't take himself so seriously, but is smart).
  18. For those who do a fair bit of travel but might be going to a new city/airport, perhaps some good insights might be helpful. I type this because I had one of the better airport meals at MSY at Emeril's Table. Great gumbo and excellent pork chop. Destroys IAH's Pappadeaux offering.
  19. Tons of brilliant Indians and brain power like any other individual basis, but from a macro perspective you've obviously never worked with TCS, infosys, Wipro or HCL eh?
  20. Surprised this guy wasn’t done under by a rogue person. Do you think he rolls around with security and personal body guards? Crazy 180 from being accused of murder to suing for $100mm dollars. Even if he has a legal/technical case for something, if he sees one red cent the optics are going to be horribad and you’ll see blood in the streets I’m sure of it.
  21. Ah, I thought we were talking about millionaires children’s, not <$999k. I kept seeing the word millionaire In the tweets and posts.
  22. New to the debate so a bit confused; are we saying it’s wrong that millionaires kids don’t qualify for free college but middle class folks do? That seems like a weird take. If we are committed to progressive revolution and we hate millionaires and like guillotine talk, why the pushback here? Millionaires can pay their own inflated tuition bill for Smitty to have Fajitas and ‘Rita’s before limping into grad school or a comfortable first job due to millionaire connections, right?
  23. It might quite literally be all she's got. It's sad.
