  1. The entire premise of "Us" is a plot hole. I don't even know where to begin.
  2. I'm not saying you are wrong, just maybe not 100% right...Lou.
  3. So, it wasn't clear in the long form, but... was the lady being a millionaire heiress (and owning $$ property in Cambridge and Paris and NYC) to some C list celebrity part of the scam or was that part real?
  4. I'm not sure I agree 100% with your police work there, Lou.
  5. “That’s our concern, dude” seems to be a popular refrain here. This summer I’ve been saying a lot “Well come on inside and get ya’self something cool to drink” a la Big daddy from Django walker
  6. A #FreeRocky hashtag? Geez, Trump just might get a slice of the Bougie vote.
  7. Tagging Brickhorn, a guy after my own heart who routinely weaves wrasslin’ analogies and metaphors with wit and grace.
  8. lol nah, you are smart and funny and well-liked, I was just commenting a bit on the irony (your self-deprecation notwithstanding).
  9. Before my time I guess, but I wrote a lot of $10 checks to Magic Wok. I bet that place is long gone.
  10. This is maybe worse than David's digging in in defense of Pelosi not doing a good job for us. Nobody digs heels into a poorly thought out opinion with weak support like DD, though. Kudos to him.
  11. I binged 1 and 2. first season was awesome; I don't even really remember the 2nd season at this point and for sure wouldn't remember the details and intricacies in another year
  12. It's like you've never seen the motion picture "VICE (2019)" starring Christian Bale as a VP who rewrites the playbook for the position and with a stunning performance by Steve Carrell as a Donald "Rummy" Rumsfield.
  13. Hate to say it because he's my fave candidate, but I think he's done. He's peaked. He's too intelligentsia in this era of politics. It's like being a refined technician in the Attitude era of WWF. You have the best pound for pound wrestler getting no love because he doesn't grab his crotch. Ugh.
  14. Really the Villas at Guadalupe ushered in that era visually/tangibly, but the war was over when Grande Mart was ended. We were probably in West Campus the same years it sounds like and I'll tell you, driving through West Campus last month and seeing how pedestrian friendly it is over by 26th and Rio Grande was weird. I guess next to die is Hole in the Wall and then West Campus will be dead, (though Cain & Abel's will never die).
  15. Says the guy from a self-proclaimed "little ivy". Some of these comments you guys are making are downright hilarious. Also, what is the point of sex if you aren't shooting, as someone termed it. Seems like a frustrating endeavor.
  16. I don't mean prescriptive, "how to", but more business books that inform while telling a good story. Think like, Liar's Poker (really any Michael Lewis), Too Big to fail, Bad Blood, Shoe Dog, etc. Anyone read anything good lately?
  17. I was thinking today-- I was in my last year or two when Austin tipped into modernity and I can name the exact moment it happened. The closing of Grande Mart on Rio Grande. That's it. That's the tweet. That's the autopsy and that's the inflection point. Grande Mart's closing was what pushed the scales and took Austin to 51% over the event horizon and what we've seen the last 15 years has been a hurtling at the speed of light into the spaghettification that we see now.

  19. Thanks for this will look into it. As far as the 4 main parks, which one is more older kid friendly, if not Epcot? Kids who are pre-teen and teen and not into Disney princesses and things like that?
  20. Spent a week in Nashville last week; Hattie B's ain't real "Nashville" according to my hipster friends who live there and so I didn't care to try it. Ate at the Southern Steak & Oyster and it was good. Ate at George Jones Bar which was awesome to see be inside of, but the food was worse than mediocre. Broadway is fun at night; it's like a Redneck Las Vegas. Saw a ton of homeless people. Nashville is weird because it's small but it's also very congested and traffic was pretty bad at almost all hours of the working day. In fact it wasn't so much traffic as it was people just drive so slow. My friend ordered Hatti B's on Uber eats and had it delivered in like 10 minutes instead of waiting in a horrible line. Am in Memphis this week; ate at Uncle Lou's Fried Chicken (a 'hot' chicken place), obviously Rendevzous, but also A&R BBQ and Corky's. Caught a Memphis Redbirds game (I like to check out minor league games in random cities we consult in and collect the hats). Memphis just feels sad and poor, but there is room and space at least.
  21. Old Austin is dead to me now. This is the one that did it to me.
