  1. The system discourages anything other than a 5 star rating, at least in my opinion. I had a driver who was less than stellar and iirc wouldn't take directions or something. Anyway I doled out a 4 and then the system wanted to know why, why would you do that? Did they kill a pedestrian? Rape your grandmother? The questions! The questions!!! It's just easier to give a 5 and get on with my day.
  2. I don't know who Robert Luke is but he speaks the truth. Firefighter but not really, merciful health care worker of sorts ministering to the elderly, NASA program volunteer (did apply, right?), now policy maker. Her drive for recognition, aka attention whore, is boundless. I would say she has a drive for respectability but the cam whore thing kind of short circuits that thought. She's not unique but as has already been mentioned, at this point in time it's a feature and not a bug. Oh, AND she's the mole. Chinese plant. Maybe lizard people. Chinese lizard people.
  3. Funny thing about the part I bolded, wrt Aranda having some success and leaving. I was thinking along those same lines but didn't post my thoughts so I'll share since you brought that up. I disagree with you I think. From what little I've seen and heard about the guy's personal life i.e., his Christian beliefs, seem to be quite sincere. He talks the talk at least and in a convincing way. I don't recall a recent coach at Baylor who so openly embraced that aspect of their personal life. Mulkey, Scott Drew, Art Briles, Matt Rhule - all gave some lip service but Aranda really seems like he feels at home at a Christian branded university. Baylor has proven themselves to be patient with their first time coaches (Mulkey and Drew both are first timers). They are also quick to reward success, both Briles and Rhule were given raises and extensions at the first glimmer of hope. Financial compensation will not be a barrier to retaining Aranda and the environment may be a plus for his personal reasons. Once the Baptits had a taste of what sort of financial boon football success could provide with the RGIII Heisman (est. 300MM in donations and from various revenue streams and does not include the monies for McLane stadium, housing and training facilities) they seem committed to providing facilities and infrastructure that will continue to entice a segment of athletes that previously would not have given Baylor much thought. All this to say that unless Aranda is as mercenary as most of his brethren in the profession, I think he could with marginal success become a fixture here. I'm withholding judgment on his HC abilities.
  4. Did this strategy or the process include a reference to any character in the Steinbeck novel "Of Mice And Men"? j/k I listened to the game on the radio (die JMo, please) and heard Jalen Petri's name called early and often. IIRC he was the only Briles recruit to stay once the shit hit the fan, the rest of that class bailed. He's a senior now so I'm thinking that every other player is a Matt Rhule guy. Rhule hit the ground running, hired a few Texas high school football coaches for his staff and cobbled together a small class of mostly last minute grabs. The offensive production was already falling under Rhule and was pretty damned anemic last year. It took some divine intervention in a couple of games for Baylor to compile the record that they had. With the struggles of Brewer this year and his history of head injuries I have been surprised that his backup Bohannon didn't see more playing time as the season has worn on. But to your mention of processes, it was clear to me in the last quarter with some of the play calls and personnel on field that Aranda is using every opportunity to continue evaluating players to determine who is or will be an "Aranda guy" going forward. I still can't help but remind myself though that the last DC Baylor hired as HC was Kevin Steele. And with that historically bad hire in mind I find it less than likely that Baylor has managed to hire 3 good (not speaking of morals here) football coaches in a row.
  5. Baylor offense is not ept. Not ept at all. The defense shows promise though, given all of the starters that were lost from last years team. OSU, your turn, please bring some lube, k?
  6. Well. That about does it right there. Bravo and gracias.
  7. Close game thru the first half but Baylor managed to pull away down the stretch to beat Illini.
  8. Same year the Baptits started allowing dancin' on campus. I blame exposure to the northern heathens.
  9. She says she "enjoyed the opportunity to have had the chance". Doesn't say she actually showed up. She's a word warlock.
  10. The author was a guest on Coast-to-Coast AM one night a week or so ago. I think their stuff is available on their website if you cared to listen.
  11. I call my penis "The Big Guy". He's fine.
  12. Those make me think maybe I should go back to the original blue and white gravel that I started with. A sort of Dallas Cowboys biotope.
  13. Haha, well if homemade gag greeting cards are the standard by which we're being measured then I'm in the lead here.
  14. Baylor has #5 Illinois scheduled on 12/02 and #1 Gonzaga scheduled on 12/05. The Bears ranking will change, one way or another.
  15. I spent the better part of 6 years afloat, first in the Navy and then as a merchant mariner. Those old accounts of life at sea are riveting. I recently downloaded and listened to a Jack London collection of stories he wrote based on his experiences in the South Pacific around 1908 or so. It was even then a territory inhabited by unrepentant cannibals. Also this year reread Michener's Tales of the South Pacific (WWII era) and just started Melville's Typee and Omoo (also set at about the same time as the Dana story). The full Melville "trilogy" is 44 hours in length. Pretty sure I'll have my salt water needs met if/when I finish this one.
  16. That's a good looking 'scape there. I have no eye for design or desire to grow plants, lol. I have simple stuff that gives my tank a little bit of character, nothing as challenging as what you've got there. Looks good and best of luck!
  17. Notre Dame is the Catholic OU. Have some history, currently do well in their regular season, get invited to the dance where they proceed to trip on their ball gown and fall flat on their stupid face.
