  1. They won't be stuck because the Pac GOR and media contract end July 2024. Therefore, they can go wherever the hell they want after that point, without penalty. They don't have to give a prior notice of some certain length of time because they can simply say, "we are not signing this new deal, goodbye and good luck."
  2. I think the schools in the Pac will wait however long it takes to see a media deal presented to them. They will wait for this deal because their preference is to stay in the Pac. What intrigues me is the game of chicken that will take place between UOWU and the B1G after that deal is presented. Even if teams start leaving after this media deal is presented I don't think UOWU has a spot in the B1G. However, they might wait in the Pac 8, 6, 4 forever just hoping for an invite.
  3. Perhaps, but I am not certain what that means for them. Does that mean playing all their games on BTN and Peacock for 6 years while making pennies compared to the other teams in the B1G? Are FOX, CBS, and NBC going to pony up for them 6 years in the future, just out of the goodness of their hearts? Will these schools in the B1G actually vote them in if it means less exposure amd no increase in revenue? Consider me skeptical. We have already witnessed the difference between expectations and reality when it comes to schools in the Pac. Why didn't the B1G just add them when they took the LA schools?
  4. I am thinking they are exhausted. How could they get in during this contract cycle? Is money going to drop from the sky? Is Minnesota and Wisconsin going to give up their seat on NBC to play their games on Peacock or BTN?
  5. So, they would choose not to be on tv for home games, and maybe not even for away games with the sort of schedule they might be able to cobble together? Unlikely.
  6. It isn't that simple. Otherwise they would be in the B1G already.
  7. My question is, at this point how would they get into the B1G? The B1G schedule for 24 is set and the media windows are well saturated. Who in the B1G is going to want give up their network window to play on the conference network or Peacock? Who in the B1G is going to want to make less money at this point?
  8. It definitely is. SDSU is simply begging for some favors from the MWC while they hope and pray for something to happen with the Pac media negotiations. Whether that means the Pac gets a deal or schools leave, they are hoping that something, anything, happens. The MWC stated that they took these communications from SDSU as their official intent to withdrawl. SDSU has now said that it is not their official notice.
  9. SDSU has not been told a thing by anybody. They are only shitting their pants because their exit fee triples on July 1st. They sent a letter begging the MWC to extend the deadline to notify the conference, to decrease the exit fee, and to please not withhold their conference payout until they give their official notice of leaving the conference. The SDSU rationale for these requests is, "Circumstances within other conferences that are beyond our control."
  10. Eh? Almost two years ago now. That was quite a different team than last year.
  11. You can watch the video from the board meeting, dumbass. I don't agree with a lot of his opinions and don't enjoy most of their comedic chatter, but the dude has given valid information through his prior connections with ESPN and his familiarity with West Coast schools. He also has guests once in a while that are somewhat high profile.
  12. The twitter media coverage of that WSU board meeting on Fri or Sat gave absolutely no context. Apparently, it was much worse than what was posted. This Monty Show episode lays it all out in the first 20 or 30 minutes. It was pretty bad, to say the least.
  13. SIAP, but It was posted by Greg Biggins 2 hours ago and I haven't seen it on here.
  14. Anyone remember these statements from Mandel? Seems so silly to read them now.
