  1. Common law marriage doesn't exist in California for any reason or length of time (that's actually the majority rule in the US - only 10 or so states still have the concept). But California does have a complicated domestic partnership law that has some rights that occur automatically, and some you have to contract for in writing. Depends on the specific issue.
  2. Hey, a legal thing I know. This is correct. There's not a specific time frame or test - it's less concrete than that. Family Code 2.401(a)(2): Sec. 2.401. PROOF OF INFORMAL MARRIAGE. (a) In a judicial, administrative, or other proceeding, the marriage of a man and woman may be proved by evidence that: (1) a declaration of their marriage has been signed as provided by this subchapter; or (2) the man and woman agreed to be married and after the agreement they lived together in this state as husband and wife and there represented to others that they were married.
  3. I guess. But it just doesn’t seem likely that there wasn’t any hint of this type of thing before now.
  4. How on earth can he be that dumb/out of control/crazy and it just comes out right now like this?
  5. They believe every offseason. Because that's when the bad news stops.
  6. It's actually not as many as I expected - yet.
  7. Is Cincinnati a better job than Louisville?
  8. I don’t know. 4 straight playoff games in random cities is a lot to ask of my job. Would have to probably quit. Oh well. Kids can borrow to pay for their college I guess.
