  1. Putin, yes - but also remember that Ukraine may have not been destroyed if it truly was a 3 day operation. Most of the destruction, rape, torture, kidnappings and other atrocities are occurring because it has been a prolonged fight - I don't think Crimea was destroyed in the same manner. PS Don't take this the wrong way - I'm just stating this from a historical perspective.
  2. That sounds bad for Gavin Holmes and Jay'Vion Cole - I guess they haven't developed as hoped.
  3. Do y'all think the US wants Ukraine to win the war or just not lose it? It seems to me like the US wants to negotiate the end of the war at some point.
  4. Do y'all think our wide receivers will be more productive this year than they were last year?
  5. Speaking with a psychiatrist, inpatient acute mental care is all about alleviating a crisis. Its goal is suicide intervention and short-term prevention. It isn't intended for any meaningful long-term treatment. That requires regular treatment from a psychiatrist/psychologist. Based on that, I figured that they would load the patient up on haldol or lithium or some such on admission.
  6. Well, that sounds like a very important data point.
  7. Oh, you mean like you must be racist if you don't like her - Because that is what started the conversation. And then you follow it up with And don't get that some people just don't like cocky, narcissistic fools who have no sense of humility. But, I do think the press has played a role. Muhammed Ali was entertaining in his cockiness. The media pretty much hid Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan. With Simone Biles, it was on display for everyone to see. Meanwhile, Suni Lee who took gold in 2020 over Simone Biles and bronze this year had to take a backseat - This is after quitting the sport in 2023 due to two incurable kidney diseases including CKD. That to me is more indicative of a GOAT.
  8. You sure have invested a lot in trying to get me to change my opinion. I get it - You love her. I don't. Not everyone has to agree. I'm fine with that.
  9. Can someone grab a few buckets and bring some of the good stuff back to Lake Travis?
  10. Of course I know the twisties are a real thing. I called in sick twice with them just last week. Because she was the best ever and changed the sport. And after that perfect 10, she had 6 more in the Montreal Olympics that year. The scoreboard wasn't even programmed to go up that high. And she did it yips and twisties free and never wore a Goat necklace or handed out Goat stuffed animals or acted like an entitled douche.
  11. Nadia Comăneci is the best of all time. How old are you?
  12. We need to incorporate that play into our repertoire.
  13. As someone who treats adults with intellectual disabilities, I can tell you that it can be challenging. The caregivers get shitty pay and the work is beyond difficult. It takes a special person to do it with a passion for decades. So, most of the caregivers are short-timers who don't put in the effort. I can imagine that mental health facilities are somewhat similar. Most of the capable personnel move on to better jobs. I'm sure there are some with a passion to help the mentally ill, but I am equally sure that there are many unmotivated workers.
  14. Nah, Pasadena and Deer Park are part of Baytown.
  15. That's when my wife became a fan. And for a lot of people, it showed a different level of determination and will than other players of his era. I grew up in Houston and knew the Phi Slamma Jamma guys because I knew Reid Gettys who played on those teams and my dad knew Guy Lewis so I was allowed on the court. So Drexler and Olajuwon had some special place for me as a fan. The Bulls were the enemy. But that game made me a believer.
  16. Question about MJ - I never followed him other than watching him on the court. Was he shielded by the media much like Tiger Woods? I saw this on Quora:
  17. Your first comment on this subject was idiotic and then you follow up with this nonsense. Michael Jordan didn't quit in the middle of the biggest competition of his life. And his claim to fame was Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals when he became ill. In this flu game, Jordan played 44 minutes and finished with 38 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. If you are referring to Jordan's stint in baseball, his dad was murdered and he pursued baseball as a new challenge and a welcomed distraction. I can't see any way to compare the two people.
  18. Police Tragically Shoot Four-Year-Old Boy August 2, 2024 by David Jones Public outcry has been reignited in western Illinois following the release of a new police body camera video this week. The footage documents the tragic shooting of a four-year-old boy, Terrell Miller, by local law enforcement in March. This incident took place roughly 84 miles from where Sonya Massey was fatally shot, another event also recorded on body camera footage and made public just over a week ago. On the evening of March 16, Macomb police responded to a domestic violence call. Upon their arrival, officers heard screams coming from inside an apartment, leading them to force their way into the residence. Inside, they found a woman with stab wounds and a man, later identified as 57-year-old Anthony George, brandishing two knives. The body camera footage reveals George briefly disappearing from the camera’s view, only to reemerge with young Miller in his arms. George was seen holding a knife to the boy’s throat, which led one of the officers to fire a shot. The single bullet tragically claimed the lives of both George and Miller. The incident has led to protests across Illinois, with demonstrators demanding justice for Miller. The boy’s mother expressed her devastation over the decision not to press charges against the officers involved. A special prosecutor conducted a thorough review and determined that there was no basis for criminal charges against the officers. The prosecutor’s office stated that Miller was being used as a human shield by George at the time of the shooting. Additional information has surfaced suggesting a potential familial link between Miller and Massey, the woman killed in the earlier police shooting. Reports suggest that the two may have been cousins or shared some other form of kinship. Investigations are ongoing to confirm this potential family connection.
