disruption of communication infrastructure that continues to push them backwards into more and more archaic and less efficient mechanisms. they had already pushed them back to the early 1990's. completely new installation of communication protocols which takes lots of time and money. further paranoia and guarding against a non-stop feeling of threat. attempting to enhance security is extremely expensive and laborious. slows things down considerably. that also leads to a temporary operational hurdle that makes them extremely ineffective or agile because they cannot coordinate efficiently. the feeling that you are under threat 100% of the time regardless of where you are, when you are, who you are, what you are doing...demonstrating that they can get to you and instantly kill you by means you've never previously imagined and in your home with your family. it's psychologically deteriorating. it, of course, further hardens the confrontation and ensures no peaceful coexistence in short and long term but unfortunately, we seem to have crossed that threshold for good. eta: on the coordination point above, i do not think it is a coincidence that today we are seeing low level fighter jet flights over beirut and bombing runs all over southern lebanon in the immediate aftermath of them likely abandoning all their existing primary communication protocols.

quite possibly the stupidest "analysis" ever published from whatever the fuck "informa connect academy" is. https://informaconnect.com/academy/companies-entering-trillion-dollar-club-in-2024/ lulz. the fact that this gets turned into "elon musk is about to become a trillionaire" on here is a perfect microcosm of how idiotic our media and media consumption has become. eta: their analysis was so careful and precise that they list musk's 2024 net worth to be 1.195 trillion already on their table even though they say he's three years away. awesome work.

i work in the industry and routinely provide clarification on industry custom and practice in o&g. i have to say that in my years on surly, debating whether or not midstream and downstream are part of o&g may actually be the peak of utter fucking stupidity in the debates that exist here. anyone that does not think that midstream and downstream are part of the o&g industry need to have their fucking heads examined because that is genuinely some of the stupidest shit i have ever read...and a bizarre hill to destroy your credibility over. midstream companies are not just tariff chargers. they often purchase commodities at the wellhead under purchase contracts where title and risk of loss transfers prior to them gathering/compressing/processing/treating/transporting. dcp, oneok, etp, enterprise, kinder, and on and on and on all have thousands of these contracts. they also act as service providers but that doesn't make them part of o&g for fuck's sake. y-grade ngl transportation from processing plants to mt. belvieu or conway for fractionation is absofuckinglutely part of the o&g industry as anyone that is not a complete dipshit knows. e&p, field services, midstream, and downstream are all different but all part of o&g. i genuinely cannot believe this is something being debated here. weird that the oil and gas journal's front page sections out general, e&p, drilling & production, midstream refining & processing, and midstream/downstream pipelines and transportation right there on their homepage. https://www.ogj.com/ here, a federal government agency violates rex's law of being an idiot by laying out an overview of the oil and gas industry beyond e&p: https://www.epa.gov/natural-gas-star-program/overview-oil-and-natural-gas-industry dumbshits at deloitte's oil and gas industry outlook includes focus on midstream and downstream? how? https://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/insights/industry/oil-and-gas/oil-and-gas-industry-outlook.html library of congress overview of oil and gas includes what? https://guides.loc.gov/oil-and-gas-industry even a cite for idiots like investopedia understands: https://www.investopedia.com/investing/oil-gas-industry-overview/ more basic cites for idiots: https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/career/oil-gas-primer/ https://www.oilandgasiq.com/strategy-management-and-information/articles/oil-gas-industry-an-introduction https://www.petrosync.com/blog/oil-and-gas-industry/ truly bizarre that this is being debated.

Football National Championship or Trump Loss
sidis replied to The Original Greaser Bob's topic in Cloak Room
there's a bit of a linkage between texas winning national championships and terrible shit happening. we won our first national championship in 1963 winning the cotton bowl in dallas just a little more than a month after kennedy was assassinated. 1969 was the year nixon became president, manson family murders, Vietnam war kills 22k americans, santa barbra spill, . on the other hand, apollo 11 and woodstock. 1970, nixon was still president, the beatles break up, vietnam still going strong with 23k dead americans, the bhola cyclone, marshall football team plane crash, kickoff of economic malaise. 2005, w is president and we are idiotically fighting two wars in afghanistan and iraq, hollaback girl is the number one song, the commodity and housing market bubble is fully engaged. -
eanes had one the week before last. they arrested the little shit-for-brains. anonymous tipline came through on that one. send them all to siberia.

i suppose that could go in the lulz category with 10 corn/11 agro but it wasn't as satisfying as the other three where we beat their asses or played a crazy great game. being 1-4 and losing 50-7 to "no damned tcu" the week before made it difficult to enjoy other than it was bitch ass baker losing.

there is no need for pedantry (says the guy dropping "fewer" memes) for anything that covers the period from 2010 to 2022 in texas football. the fact that swoopes, haines, money, watson, herman, etc.. all were associated with he school at all is enough to just say other than the 13 ou, 18 ou, 18 uga, and 22 ou games, the entire portion of our lives should just be forgotten for the perpetual nightmare it truly was. eta: oh, and 2010 nebraska/2011 agro just for the lulz.

while i primarily share others' responses of "why are you giving us updates on your ambivalence to attending home games," i would say that i can totally empathize with the decision to avoid 8 hours of driving the next two weekends for these two rent-a-victim games...BUT, i also share the wtf response to the fact that you have apparently made said 8 hour drives happily to watch tyrone swoopes, dylan haynes, and kai money play football coached by shawn watson and now you can't be bothered to show up to watch a real football team coached by real football coaches execute at high levels? sounds like maybe you're just getting old (something else i empathize with). good opportunity to give your tickets to kids or people less fortunate to go enjoy themselves though.

2024 Presidential Election Thread - Let's keep the party going.
sidis replied to bolverk's topic in Cloak Room
if tim walz doesn't have a prepared point in the vp debate to drop something like "i understand mr. vance shrugged off taylor swift's endorsement of our campaign stating that her billionaire status disconnects us from the interests and problems of most americans...a point i find ironic given that his entire career has been predicated on being multi billionaire peter thiel's errand boy in his quest to destroy democracy by being the vice president to a pretend billionaire who routinely demonstrates not just a disconnect from most americans, but disdain and disgust with anyone who is NOT a billionaire," then i will be very disappointed in this campaign. -

nothing but good experiences for me. everyone was super nice and friendly. most were also somewhat resigned to their fate beforehand. any of the smack talk was relatively good natured and it would take a really sensitive person to get pissy about anything we encountered. zero problems with anyone or anything michigan from the weekend. not even in the same solar system as the rat fucking shit-for-brains at ohio state. those piece of shit can all go fuck themselves into oblivion for all i care. i hope they all lead miserable fucking lives.

You can really get a sense of how much orange there was in my vid of the eyes. It was a lot.

Part of that is wisner, blue, and gibson sharing the load pretty evenly. the other part of that is that the one thing mich does extremely well is defend the run up the middle so the rbs were instead tasked with receiver duties which they did a ton of for strategic purposes.

A story about a pathetic man's downfall [34 Felony Convictions]
sidis replied to Francisco 2.0's topic in Cloak Room
when i was in undergrad, i worked at the law firm that represented the verve in their lawsuit with the rolling stones over bitter sweet symphony. not that cool a story bro. -
what outcome are you getting that is coming up short? what is it about your product that is making it "mediocre?' texture? flavor? visual? this is probably an easy fix.

I’ll just say, there are very few marks for grifting like the goofball agros and since we know that is the entire raison d'être for a certain strain of folks (/no cr), I think it was probably one of her more clever and likely profitable evenings.

Man, Everton could not embarrass themselves more than if they tried today. This is pure relegation shit. these idiots are not professionals.

god damn, i can't imagine letting someone from this (or any) site get in and own my head and life so bad that i go around taking pictures of a child's stuffed animal posed to reflect what i am doing all day in some sort of attempt to passive-aggressively, yet ineffectively, degrade that person on the site in some sort of transparent effort to try really hard to appear aloof. that is a lot of effort and bullshit to just demonstrate that you are pathetically obsessed with an anonymous person on surly. all i know about scholz is that he likes ugly chicks (good for him) but jesus fucking christ that dude should offer out some leasehold on your head. that is the most pathetic behavior i have ever seen on this site and this site's most prolific posters include futureman.

you guys do you. i subscribe to the pierre gagnaire thomas keller, grant achatz, daniel humm, paul bocuse philosophy on olive oil being a flavor fat/accoutrement or critical ingredient to be enjoyed for its natural flavor, not as a neutral cooking oil/fat. if you are getting high quality olive oil like the manni i linked above, you ain't using that to fry shit or even pan fry at high heats. but i'm not going to stand in anyone's way of happiness. do your thing, people.

I suppose it was a whoosh moment but my experience of you as a poster is not as sarcastic so I guess I wildly misinterpreted your post. Either way, Rex is an idiot.
