  1. georgia and michigan (to some extent) have earned the benefit of the doubt in a way texas hasn't over the last few years. i suspect fsu fan boards have posters fretting over deficiencies in their games against b.c. and clemson that have to be fixed if they want to win a national championship.
  2. we still have a ways to go and i generally agree with the sentiment of your post. people are overreacting to beating a team that lost to texas state at home with a lot of zeal. i always find it pretty incredible how much this board overreacts in both directions to certain outcomes. in a sport that thrives on inconsistency even from very good teams (which is what makes cfb interesting), i have always found that amusing. but...for the first time in what seems like a long time, texas did not play down (or up) to the opponent. herman and sark are both horrible about that. instead, the horns went out and did what they were supposed to do for the most part. and quinn finally threw a truly accurate deep pass (yay)! despite being put in a shit situation multiple times due to the most boneheaded fucking special teams game since maybe ncstate in 1999 off the top of my head, the defense absolutely obliterated the soul of a team that should have been able to get something going twice. baylor is seriously horrible...especially the version we faced saturday. i can't believe dave has left them get so poor but that's another discussion. they had absolutely nothing. but, sark has a large body of work implying that texas goes out and has to win a stupid game that's closer than it should be on a couple of big plays to take baylor down 35-27 and instead, they dominated. that was refreshing. and if auburn can hit extra point distance field goals and xavier/jordan don't go full you know what on punt return, that is a 48-3 beatdown of a bad p5 team which has been a while. we have a lot of "good" teams left on the schedule. teams that can win if texas lets them. ou, kansas, kstate, byu, tcu are all slightly above average teams and a couple of them are arguably top 25 teams. scares you to death but so far, (knock on the biggest fucking wood of all time) we have only suffered one critical injury and have had good luck on that front...and the defensive line is playing at an exceptional, national championship contending level. quinn is getting better, sanders is dominating, cook and mitchell offering the defense something else besides worthy opens up all kinds of shit, linebacker play is best since gary johnson, and the dbs are doing "enough." the other big takeaway from the last two games for me is that i might have to admit that i was overly skeptical about brooks' ability to make a difference. he's been fantastic since the third quarter of the wyoming game. quinn still missed some subtle stuff (very minor relatively speaking) and special teams should be taken out back and shot but other than that, very little to nothing to complain about which is nice for a change. we disposed of the team that should be fighting houston for worst in the league this year. gets significantly more interesting from here. but at least it's interesting again.

Any single living soul that has the poor fucking taste and poor fucking form to ever root for ohio state playing anyone except for ou is at the top of my fucking list to be fucking euthanized when I become king. Along with north metroplex real estate agents, ohio state fans will be the first. Then people who hurt kids and animals.
  4. Tide came alive immediately after the reverse fifth down fuckup by the officials.
  5. Even the Deion haters had to be like “damn man” on that one.
  6. ??? I’m not a Deion hater or a Deion apologist. Just someone that realizes when you run your mouth, it is going to be ugly when you hit a wall.
  7. Deion haters having a borderline erotic day.
  8. Auburn, miss state, and Chattanooga are the only automatic wins i can find at this point.
  9. This Alabama team is bad. Never thought I’d see a tide oline this bad under Nick. QB is a terrible decision machine.
  10. As I said…auburn’s offense is possibly the worst in the country.
  11. At the lakes game, 7 for chaps is a good little runner runner but might be the most inaccurate passer I have ever seen throw a football in my life. Too bad. Got great size and decent vision. But man, gotta hit guys running wide open through the field.
  12. Maybe. I can understand the argument. But I just never saw him as the same as those guys despite the one season plus one run against ou in 2015.
  13. That put him at 10 instead of 11. Bergeron went crazy against tech once too.
  14. god i already miss him. he was amazing.
  15. started following horns in 94. off the top of my head: 1. Ricky 2. JC; Freshman & Senior Benson; Bijan 3. a fuckload of distance 4. Sophomore and Junior Benson 5. i guess Foreman maybe. 6. Hodges Mitchell, Selvin Young (underrated, productive guys) 7. R. Taylor; Malcolm Brown; J. Gray 8. Shon Mitchell; Priest; Roschon; Ricky Brown; 2008 Fozzy 9. Other years Fozzy; Cody Johnson; Ogby; Bergeron; 2005 Henry "Shelton;" Tre Watson 10. Tre Newton; Vondrell McGee; Warren; Keontay Ingram; Ivan Williams 11. Daniel Young; Kenny Hayter; Victor Ike; Toneil Carter; Chris Robertson 12. Will Matthews 13. Fuckload of distance. 14. Kyle Porter obviously, if i had followed horns prior to that, Earl, Leaks, Gilbert, and Metcalf would all be 5 and above.
  16. it was so unwatchable, i stopped watching and went to fucking bed with cal up despite being jazzed up from the texas win in tuscaloosa.
  17. leaves are turning in austin too. but it is just because the trees died.
  18. i suspect it is more of a commentary on auburn than the agros. the auburn-cal game was the late game of the week a couple of weeks ago and auburn truly did look like hammered dogshit in that game. they had no business beating cal. They threw for a total of 94 yards and had 230 total yards on the day. auburn turned the ball over 4 times and the only thing that saved them was that cal turned it over 3. they were out-possessed by ten minutes and looked foolish. freeze and his no ethics shenanigans will soon have auburn competitive again but it is first year stuff right now. they are pretty terrible. i suspect the agro front four will have their "get the fans hopes up" day this week. on the other hand, this game can be wild and auburn will certainly be the first breathing defense that weigman has to face.
  19. Elderly Woman was really good the first night too…as was even flow. Between the two nights, the only song I wanted that they didn’t do was Just Breathe 4th&Five told me today that across 8 shows on this mini tour, they played 105 unique songs. That is utterly insane.
  20. 119th in passing success rate. 129th in rushing success rate. 120th in 3rd down success. we really need an explosive game, for the run blocking to elevate, and for quinn to find a consistent groove.
  21. yeah, it's not close to the secret world or growing up tours. not near the level of theatricality and energy but pete is old. no way he could do that anymore. it's honestly kind of miraculous he can still move as well as he does and hit the vox registers he does. feels like a swan song tour for pete so going to take as much advantage as i can.
