  1. Fuck yeah, dude. Saw that show in London a few pages back and seeing it in Austin in a couple of weeks. How incredible was that cellist/vocalist? Manu still brings it, his drumming on Digging in the Dirt at the London show was insane. couple of vids from PJ last night. IMG_5148.mov IMG_5153.mov IMG_5154.mov IMG_5156.mov
  2. Practically a dream setlist tonight from Pearl Jam for me. I went both nights and am glad I sat close for tonight. Great time.
  3. a very good post. that last lines are fairly profound and very accurate. i have had a harder time managing some instincts that steering me in the other direction over the last few years.
  4. just take the most unique and special environments of all of sports that is defined by it not being a home game or an away game for either team that are each other's most hated rivals and very simply replicate that for home games against wyoming. look, i am frustrated by the bizarre home game environment that i would describe as trying so god damned hard that it is hurting itself. it's like a dude at a party that is desperately trying to impress everyone as fast as he can. they need to chill. but acting like it's as simple as transplanting (imo) the greatest and most unique sporting spectacle in the country every year where the same variables are not at play is just silly. texas-ou is self-fulfilling because of what it is.
  5. keontay ingram, kyle porter, and chris warren vs. ricky williams, priest holmes, and shon mitchell. plus, the 2018 and 2019 defenses were brutal at times. plus, the refs royally fucked us in the 2018 big 12 champ game when ou's defensive backs suddenly became exempt from pass interference and defensive holding rules.
  6. well, when you consider the rest of the list... but seriously, of those guys, sam is the only one to play at a consistently high level for any period lasting longer than a week. sam played at a fabulously high level in 2018 from the usc game through the tech game. he wasn't bad for the rest of the season but he didn't play at a level of excellence like he did against usc, tcu, ou, west virginia, and tech. probably peaked against tech. played well against georgia at the end of the season as well. the rest of his career was pretty meh. everyone loves sam because he's lovable. i couldn't stand watching him attempt to throw...but his mid-2018 season has been the only more than a week at a time high level of qb play since colt got hurt against bama. buchele threw one hell of a pretty deep ball early in his career but had the worst coaching ever. case will always have the beatdown at ucla and the win against the agros. but he was terrible. gilbert should have been great. he wasn't. casey and heard flashed in random games but ultimately weren't great. i had irrational high hopes for heard. ash, swoopes, and whoever else don't merit consideration.

  8. for songwriter group, we did a robert johnson prompt with the option of doing 5/4 time per my request. never again on 5/4. what a pain in the ass. but i am doing two tracks on this one. the first one is my robert johnson track...i went with r&b this month. the final version will have some soulful "rapping" on top of it but not comfortable sharing that here so here is the version without the lyrics. careful with the subwoofers on this one. i did write a 5/4 track. i'm obviously not happy with it but i did it. it is more of a rock song...u2 style and will also have some lyrics on the final version but here is the instrumentation. even though it wasn't my intention, when i step back from it, it kind of reminds me of "exit" from joshua tree if exit hit you over the head with bass and sucked.
  9. the only thing saving them so far is that the bottom 5 of the league are all really bottom 5. there's some pretty bad teams this year. that said, they are completely hapless. i truly believed they would go down last year and was wrong by a single goal. this year looks worse.
  10. of course this has a lot of "trap game" variables in that we will get their backup qb, baylor's season is already over in any meaningful sense, it's hard to imagine them going above .500 in conference, and the only thing possible that could give them something to be happy about for the rest of the year is winning this game so we will get the nothing to lose kitchen sink from them. paired with texas feeling good about itself and me still not fully trusting sark and quinn, i'd normally not be able to help but feel that there's the potential for a wtf. that said, the thing that almost always overcomes that is great line play and we should be able to dominate them there in both directions. this would be a great game for the oline and a the rbs to get something dominant going which they obviously haven't yet. particularly because dave has been really effective at getting at our qbs under sark in the passing game. they will undoubtedly go three high-three down as much as possible so it's time for baxter, brooks, and blue to dominate and set some tone to the rest of the conference that 3high-3down isn't some sort of sark/quinn-defeating cheat code for the rest of the season. this is a great opportunity for sark to demonstrate he has exorcised his seven win steve-ness since these are the games he's always screwed up and hopefully for the running game to finally shine.
  11. read the original post you quoted again, plus all the stuff you very purposefully deleted in your quotation because you are a shit-for-brains troll, very slowly. see if you can distinguish me describing the central essence of the polarizing nature of deion and the mindset of those who dislike him from me expressing my own opinion regarding deion. i suspect you are not really capable of it but try anyway.
  12. you truly are the dumbest and silliest son of a bitch i have ever encountered on a message board, helo. not just for your idiotic and uninformed hot takes and being wrong about basically everything...but it is also clear that your reading comprehension level would be rightfully described as illiterate.
  13. i still say trixie is somehow to blame.
  14. say what you will about what a disaster strong was but man, that was funny as hell every week.
  15. jesus christ fox. first forcing texas and rice to play at 2:30 and now this stupid shit. they are too dumb to exist.
  16. yes, they were in 31 around row 60 or so. a group of five or six really shitfaced wyoming guys were itching for it and i was pretty impressed with the restraint most of the texas fans in the area showed because those guys were begging for a beatdown and the frustration from the shit performance on the field was gaining quickly. one dude that was the biggest talker was like maybe 5'4 and exuded all the cliche entitled dipshit who needs to catch a punch to the face for his own well-being long-term. they started with all the comedically unoriginal horns down nonsense at the beginning which no one really gave a shit about but after wyoming scored on the 60 yard run, they dialed it up to a "we are getting kicked out of this game" level. one of them finally was which was probably a fortunate thing for the group. the little twat and the rest of his groupies finally snuck out as quickly as possible after jerrin's pick. probably the best call they made all night.
  17. deion is deion...it's who he is. which is a highly polarizing guy who makes people that have a vision of how to act with decency should act view him with disdain. these people understandably view that decency as someone with humility, respect for others, class, no self-aggrandizing, hardworking without asking for accolades etc... most people are obviously like that. and they are going to find deion objectionable and take pleasure in his failures and the perceived comeuppance. i'm certainly not immune to a bit of it. on the other hand, it is going to make people who just want to be entertained entertained. especially young, stupid people. i think deion is a phenom. he was such an unbelievable athlete and would have been great at basically anything he wanted to do athletically. the bo jackson, deion sanders, bob hayes, dave winfield, jim thorpes of the world are truly a special breed. i used to really enjoy watching him play db and special teams for the falcons and 49ers... he's putting on a show at colorado...successfully so far but beating csu in overtime at home would be an embarrassment to any legitimate top 25 team. beating wyoming by 21 at home was an embarrassment. as a side note, it has been so long since colorado was anything but pathetic that most people have forgotten just how unbelievably bad a reputation their fans used to have for being absolute trash and i think people are about to get reminded about that. rushing the field after that is possibly a lower point than going a million straight seasons with losing records. deion's amassing talent but obviously the next three weeks are likely to be a reality check between a quick flash vs. solid teams with depth at most positions. his qb son is playing at a really high level so far...though he probably needs to check himself on being his dad's spokesman at the post-game coach's handshakes. he's looked really good in the intermediate passing game in particular so far against two shit opponents and one (likely) mediocre opponent. he's fun to watch if you aren't playing against him. i am extremely frustrated that hunter got hurt going into those games though. that dude has the potential to be the first charles woodson in a long time and i would have liked to have seen his individual efforts against oregon and usc. that is bullshit and i am pissed at the safety from csu for that horseshit play and depriving us the opportunity to see him in those games.
  18. umm, @oSuJeff97, @Homercles, @'stache, @Pokoloco what the fucking hell? is trixie not doing blowjobs for all the players anymore or something?
  19. CSU was so dumb not going for two. They hadn’t stopped them for a while.
  20. I apparently completely missed the OT rule change on not flipping who goes first on each OT.
  21. Gotta say, I was legit impressed with imma’s brisket and burnt ends. Nice work!
