  1. Agreed. I think you're being diplomatic here. We shouldn't expect a big time comfortable lead. This was the conference title game against a team stacked with blue chip talent through and through. I don't care that they don't have a perfect record and struggled in some games they shouldn't have. The same is true of us. Kirby, his faults aside, is an intense coach who coached his ass off in preparation for both games and in the game. That guy dots his i's and crosses his t's. Pedestrian QB performance isn't a realistic plan to beat Georgia nor win the playoffs.
  2. Neither am I, but other sites I post on censor, so typing "chit" is a habit. I would think it hardly worth commenting about though.
  3. The off sides against 91 was brutal. jumping vs lining up is terrible, completely unacceptable. Totally agree. That one also made me livid. Those were some of the boneheaded penalties I mentioned in the game thread. Bond's holds, his offensive PI, Cam Williams false start and some holds. All that chit fucked us.
  4. That false start made me livid. I was dreading the second kick. MFk'r!
  5. His habitual mechanics suck. When he throws with good form, he can put zip on it. When he's flustered, he discombobulates and it all goes to chit. If he's playing hurt, that can also cause poor mechanics and less than perfect throws as well.
  6. I’m sure arch will be ok with sitting another year To be fair, he didn't say using his last year of eligibility at Texas. But that point has been covered multiple times before. Most agree Quinn is encouraged to move on, or if he were allowed to stay, he would have to compete for the position. I don't see Sark annointing him the starter at the expense of Arch Manning or even the message it would send to future recruits. Conventional wisdom says if the competition is close, you go with the new talent with the higher ceiling.
  7. Maybe. Maybe not. There's no telling how the game would have played out had those FGs been made. That was early enough in the game that Georgia could have responded differently. Not that I'm excusing Auburn here at all. He's been flaky on longish FGs this season. A false start didn't help on one of those missed FGs either. I think Quinn's impact was certainly greater and that shouldn't really be debatable given he's the QB. A single TD with an assumed extra point certainly outweighs two FGs. I don't know to what extent his injuries/lack of recovery affected this game, but whatever the reason, he squandered many opportunities. And I thought he started out the game relatively well overall (commented on that in the game thread). He exercised some poise in the pocket and maneuvered to extend plays early on. But he seemed not up to the moment end of Q4 and in OT regardless of what one thinks of the play calls. Really annoyed with a lot of the shoot-ourselves-in-the-foot, legitimate penalties too. I think those were probably the difference in the game alone. This was a razor thin close outcome.
  8. He has definitely stacked blue chips in the top 3 level for enough consecutive years to have as good a roster as can be had. Having to contend with Saban and his also thoroughly blue-chip teams threw a wrench in his goals more than a few times. But, I'm sure he's had a learning curve to headcoaching that is required above and beyond having the talent. Sark is taking his lumps now. We'll see how far he goes. Does a lot right, but from the comfort of my couch, he has lessons to learn too.
  9. 37 carries for 147 yards isnt exactly running it down our throat… Once PK adjusted and the D started playing contain, we limited him breaking free quite a bit. Despite that, we did leave the middle open a few times for him to sneak through or dump a screen off at critical points. As for their rushing game in general, their RBs broke some big ones off after the backup came in and I'm curious if holding helped open any of those running lanes, but I'm not making the accusation. Tough to see everything going on in real-time.
  10. I hear you. I absolutely hate the notion that two teams would meet three times in a single season, even if technically once it is during the post-season. Conference title games in the playoff era are questionable but super-conferences are a counter to that argument. I actually thought the round robin Big12 schedule without a conference game was a superior format, but irrelevant at this point and obviously not perceived that way when we had it. Despite the biased (intended or not) officiating, we had multiple opportunities to win this game and didn't make the plays when we needed to.
  11. That backup QB played well. Just another example of how deep and talented Georgia is. And while Kirby is a whiny bitchass on the sidelines, he's a good gameday coach otherwise.
  12. It's a shame the offense and special teams let our defense down tonight. It's also a shame the refs aren't more evenhanded. I don't expect perfection from them, but they were blind to Georgia holding and PI for the majority of the game and then made a few token calls at the end. The roughing passer call was absolute BS too. Having said that, we had some legit penalties that were absolutely boneheaded stupidity and I think those alone were some of the 2 to 3 things that could have made the difference.
  13. No, we hoped they would. We aren't bitchass dripping cunts who lose hope at the first sign of adversity in a game. Until time and circumstances negate any chance for a win, we hold out hope the team steps up. Lots of players stepped up and made going to OT possible. You are either a plant troll or the absolute worst example a fan could possibly be.
  14. Play calling is highly marred by subpar QB performance. Lots of play call criticisms are a result of poor player (not just the QB's) execution. And it's tough to really judge it live. Watching film allows a far more thorough and objective analysis.
  15. He has been a big disappointment overall. So much potential demonstrated in his first two seasons. Such a regression this season instead of taking the next step. I guess we can hope he redeems himself in the playoffs. Maybe he heals up and does better then. I'm not holding my breath on a switch to Arch and that decision is a risk all it's own this late in the season.
  16. When your QB isn't hitting open receivers and instead chooses to checkdown to the RB with the furthest route to the endzone, I can understand hitting the FG and hoping your D that's played really well comes through. They just didn't have another stop in them. I'm angrier about the FG call that Auburn missed earlier. Should've punted with his track record for longer FG's this season especially after he hooked the second attempt after the false start earlier.
  17. A lack of execution by the QB had a lot to do with it. Quinn played better than other recent games, but still a disappointing performance overall. He really fizzled at the end of the 4th Q and in OT. Special teams really screwed us and in the first half we had a lot of boneheaded penalties. Just absolute boneheadedness by those players. They killed drives and canceled great plays. Our defense did their part though. STs and offense are the culprits.
  18. And the third was on Quinn because there was a better option open that probably gets the TD if he'd passed to him.
  19. We need to drop some ball carriers for a loss here badly.
  20. Well, 1st and goal. Keeping them out of the endzone is going to be really hard now.
  21. Our defense has got to be tired. If we don't pull it out, it's not their fault.
  22. Finally some tackling because the first missed tackle was atrocious.
  23. Way to put pressure on the D. Had a receiver open in the middle on that last play with a better chance to make the TD.
