Shit I've Cooked Lately
I can fathom someone not having enough on hand for unexpected guests on short notice. While I've managed that on occasion, it's stressful and could catch one low on stock. But the deliberate invitation of two couples with four children instructed not to eat prior to showing up is a bridge too far and incomprehensible. Even more so that they ate the majority of the food prior to your arrival. Makes one wonder if they're in the early stage of dementia or mental decline. So as not to be totally off-topic, here's some breakfast tacos I made today with HEB Hatch Chorizo. Salsa is homemade. Tortillas from HEB bakery. Double meat cheeseburger with mustard, grilled onions & mushrooms, pickled jalapenos, lettuce & tomatoes from yesterday evening served with a mug of Founders Porter.

Founders - Porter, 6.5% Alc., 👍 Have posted this combo before, but damn if it wasn't worth a revisit. MyFitnessPal need not apply, taste buds front and center. Fantastic news. First I've seen anything definitive about Shaw's knee issue. This puts Clark at the 2nd heaviest RB behind Baxter. I don't agree on him being the only RB able to make people miss. Simon's HUDL tape shows some good shiftiness. He doesn't show the extreme cutting ability that Bijan did (who does?), but he has excellent vision and nimble feet. More of a cut and slash style, he is elusive weaving through traffic. Have yet to hear anything about the RB's behind Wisner regarding QB protection. With pads coming on next week, maybe we'll start to hear more about it. Some have mentioned wanting to see whether Gibson has overcome his fumbling issues, but he was also a minus protecting the QB last season.- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again

Good discussion on the DL for those with the time and inclination. Brief mention of Myron Charles potential from Bobby. Be interesting to see whether he makes his presence felt this season. My thoughts are Texas will, or should be, tough to run against this season, not just for the DL but also with a seasoned tandem of Ant Hill and Leona Lefau in tow. Which may end up testing the secondary more as opponents seek the easier path. OTH, that ridiculous EDGE room along with Ant Hill getting after the QB should also help in that regard.- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
also “sleeveless tank” is redundant. Ditto for "cut off jorts".- Favorite Character Actor
I was thinking the same and so worth highlighting your comment. I'd also add Linda Hunt to the list.- Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins

Our red zone issues were both QB and OL related last season, IMO. We couldn't get push in short yardage situations and while the threat of the QB running helps, it doesn't always make the difference. The biggest ? is the OL which doesn't really get answered until Aug. 30. Flood has his work cut out for him. Having said that, I think Arch helps our red zone woes with his arm as much as the run threat he poses. When the field gets compressed, his quick release and zip are more likely to circumvent the need to punch it in from inside the five.- Beer 2025: Merry Christmas Everyone, Including the Haters and Losers
I've no desire to try a peanut beer. Haven't totally ruled out IPA's, but the positive hit rate has been low for me. I generally haven't had good luck with unconventional ingredient or fruity beers, but not opposed to trying some. Pecan might be worth a shot, for instance. I tried Shiner Prickly Pear and wasn't impressed. Some years back I tried Shiner Wicked Ram IPA from one of their sampler 6-packs and liked it. They discontinued it -- go figure. I've been tempted to try Abita Amber, but frankly I'm unwilling to pay the premium they charge over local craft brewers. I don't mind paying more for more expensive to brew craft beers, like Commissar or a Triple. Likewise for German, Belgian, UK or Czech beers, but not going to do it for an amber lager from hop, skip and a jump away Louisiana.- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again

Some interesting commentary about Deandre Moore's confidence on yesterday's Coffee & Football. Linked to start at 34:56 and ends about the 37 minute mark. Hope he backs it up.- Shit I've Cooked Lately
Having a hard time wrapping my head around this. Seriously, WTF over! On another note, I'd love to have seen hidden camera footage of all this. There had to have been some comedy gold facial expressions, superhuman suppression efforts and stolen eye contact going on, LOL.- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again

We're getting to the point where you're going to have to stop criticizing my spelling and posting behavior. You have a head injury this week or something? ... 😄 Kidding aside, Barron is the kind of player that makes a bad coach look good. He's the total package -- athletic, smart and driven. He spent a lot of time watching film to refine his technique and play recognition. We can only hope the example he set was infectious.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

That pep talk was painful to watch. Cringe worthy. Looked like coach didn't want to be doing it, and only half believed in it. Had the smile pasted on his face, all while knowing there was a fairly good chance Bert would go full Bert right there. I'm sure Sark didn't know WTF to do at that time though - was worth a shot, I guess. - Shit HEB Makes (when its open).
