- So I got a WSM...
Not a good idea to cook neither pork nor poultry medium rare. Reserve that for red meat. When I was a poor student at Texas fueling my weight lifting, the Hancock Center HEB meat sales were how I funded my protein needs. Many a sirloin from the bulk packages were grilled or broiled to great effect. My best strength gains came then with no so-called "gear" required. As for cheap pork, HEB often sells pork butt shoulder roasts for around $.97/lb and in keeping this relevant, it's hard to mess them up in a smoker. They are well marbled and made for smoking IMO. I prefer smoked brisket, but a properly smoked pork butt shoulder roast isn't far behind for a little less than one third the cost.- Beer 2025: Merry Christmas Everyone, Including the Haters and Losers
I'm not a big IPA guy either. I've disliked more that I've tried than those I've liked. For me, the dislike is less about bitterness and more about citrus flavor. If citrus character comes through too strongly, I won't like it. In fact, increased bitterness might help to balance out an otherwise intolerable citrus presence. So I've been trying them on occasion and perhaps there is also a bit of becoming more accustomed to them involved as well. Saint Arnold Art Car IPA, for instance, was awful to me. It tasted like grapefruit. I can't stand grapefruit.- Beer 2025: Merry Christmas Everyone, Including the Haters and Losers

I really like it. Very well balanced and a definite favorite of mine. Being a seasonal offering, it may be a while before it's back on shelves. I haven't seen any at my local HEB for a month or so. I did see some larger 24 (I think) packs at another HEB a few weeks ago. There may still be some stock around somewhere though.- The Gun Owner’s thread
And then there's my 444 Marlin. Glad I loaded up on brass, bullets and powder way back when. Bought 600 1x-fired RP cases on ebay way back when for $99. Add to that several boxes of Remington factory ammo and I'm good, but not plinking with it. Wondering if Ruger will ever do a limited run of them ... maybe through Grice or Lipsey's.- Beer 2025: Merry Christmas Everyone, Including the Haters and Losers

Who is the "I" in "I was told over the weekend"?- Hunting 24/25: big bucks and a lot of ducks!
Would it be worth installing some kind of foundation to prevent it from happening again? Not talking about a slab, but maybe sink some pressure treated or creosote piers in some post holes and some means of anchoring the feeder supports to them.- Dallas Cowboys 2024 Season Thread -- Jerrah the Asshat Rides Again
One would think fear of losing his meal ticket should be enough motivation to fix that problem. Hopefully his coaches emphasize it and he takes it to heart.- Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
What does this even mean? CR bullshit.- Official Coach Sark Thread of Dominance—haters back off
Ok Tiger.- Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
Quinn himself has said he didn't really approach the position with the right work ethic the way he should have initially. Strength and conditioning in particular were weak points for him and had he approached that more seriously early on, he might have been more resilient and less prone to injury. I've also always had the impression that he was a bit coddled and unaccustomed to tough standards. True of a lot of kids these days (insert curmudgeon comments here). His drop to late 7th round pick may well be the biggest reality check he's ever experienced. If he takes the right approach and earnestly applies himself addressing his weaknesses, he may yet overcome them and achieve success in the NFL. Not a prediction on my part, but I hope he does.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

- Texas Offseason 2025 - Archmania Is Upon Us
I think we will see this year that with Arch behind center red-zone play-calling will cease to be an issue. if you know what I mean. We might get better interior push this season too. Remains to be seen, of course, but neither Majors nor Conner were road graders.- Texas Offseason 2025 - Archmania Is Upon Us
