  1. I wonder if Majors was back to full health though. I seem to recall reading a report that he'd play this game but might be toughing it some.
  2. He's a pocket passer first. Not very mobile. That doesn't mean he can't run at all, but he is in no way a VY. He might be better in a QB sneak situation assuming the OL gets some push. Unless a QB is just a statue, I personally think they should all "take yards that are there" when it makes sense to do so and be sensible in how many they try to take vs giving themselves up. Likewise, some timely and judicious designed runs or draw plays can be useful, IMO. Nothing like Herman would do though. Just my opinion. We'll see what happens.
  3. can’t wait for competence I think quite a bit of holding goes uncalled in the SEC. Likewise PI, but I think the real issue is it more even handed. Time will tell, but I'm optimistic that calls will be more even handed. I certainly don't expect it to be worse than the Rig 12. Likewise, SEC reffed games seem to flow better. That in itself should be a huge improvement.
  4. The Spring game told us little because his greatest completions were against backups. He does have moxy. From the outside, we have almost no knowledge of his command of the offense, recognizing protections and reading defenses. He's got a cannon that needs tempering, which perhaps may dial in with increasing, consecutive reps and possessions. It's really tough to have a clue how he'll fare should he be the one taking snaps next week or thereafter. He does seem to play with confidence and steps up in the pocket. His height certainly can't hurt either. I both fear him starting and yet, wonder what he's capable of if he's prepped repping with the one's knowing he will be the starter and a gameplan schemed with his strengths/weaknesses in mind.
  5. It was their strength against our weakness. Our secondary is lacking. Watts being out is huge too.
  6. Maybe. Maybe not. No need to portend doom just yet.
  7. Let's not forget all the missed holding calls or the BS personal foul called on Ant Hill. Nor all the ridiculous spots we've gotten across many games. They have taken far more than they've given.
  8. Holgo might have saved his job with this. Between the ball spot and how close the game was.
  9. Maybe. Maybe not. No need to portend doom just yet.
  10. Our underseated band making themselves heard. Hook'em!
  11. Notice how much more successful the sideline passes are when the QB gets the ball there quicker ...
  12. This. Completion rates and INTs don't tell the whole story with Quinn. He's got a lot to work on and I honestly can't say where he ends up. He has the physical tools. It's upstairs that's holding him back at present.
  13. Bullshit call. He tripped into the player. Just football accident there and it wasn't a hard hit either.
  14. Backup QB is in ... he might need to get in rhythm.
  15. Taaffe giveth, and taketh away. Same can be said for Thompson.
  16. And Ewers still didn't wrap the ball up there. Yes, he didn't fumble, but no excuse.
  17. Majors got absolutely destroyed in the sneak. Pushed right back into Ewers’s face. Wonder if he is still not 100%. Not that this hasn't been an issue for him previously, but if he's less than at full health ...
