"maybe you can cut it to a two TD deficit by half-time" ... Hahahahaaaa.- CFP Playoff Round 1: SMU @ Penn State - 11 am CT on TNT
Have no idea but clearly the HC feels whatever is at backup is not an option. He needs the world's greatest hypnotherapist ready to go during half-time.- CFP Playoff Round 1: SMU @ Penn State - 11 am CT on TNT
Stupid call going for it. Dumbass commentators agreeing with it.- CFP Playoff Round 1: SMU @ Penn State - 11 am CT on TNT
Blind official. Ground doesn't force a fumble.- Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor

Quinn is a decent runner when he's healthy and not playing hesitantly. He's demonstrated that on more than one occasion. He's not Colt or Arch good, but he can exploit open grass and escape when necessary.- 2025 DT Cole Brevard

Regardless. Multiple opportunities to score. The QB drives the bus. I'm not discounting that Quinn played better in this game. Not consistently, but he had flashes of poise and pocket presence not really evident for quite some time. But he also succumbed to pressure frequently. And I also think that we win without some of the boneheaded gimme penalties to the biased refs. And Guilbeau's lack of awareness on what would have been a pick six, or Auburn's two missed FGs and Bank's failure to have his crew ready for the fake punt. This game was razor close despite the skewed officiating and our mistakes. But I'm dissappointed in Quinn and think he's capable of better. He's made back some ground in this game and I hope he continues that trajectory in the playoffs.- Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
I think saying Quinn didn't play well in critical moments understates it. With all the opportunities we had to score in the red zone, ONE more TD out of all those opportunities was not expecting too much, IMO.- 2024 SEC Championship Game: Texas vs. Georgia - 3pm on ABC
Looks to me like Majors failed and so did DJ. Conner and Majors are double-teaming, but Conner doesn't get much in on it. Not really his fault though because Majors immediately allows #94 to sidestep and turn/pivot him sideways, instead of maintaining an effective squared up front WITH Connor, which essentially takes Conner out of it. If Majors doesn't engage at such an exaggerated angle Connor might have had more effect. He practically takes Connor out of it and since he isn't squared on the defender, he's immediately pivoted sideways. Great technique by the defender to thwart them, btw. They're trying to set him back on his heels and he's having none of it. With Majors completely sideways he easily slips off of him visually locked on Wisner right past Campbell too, who whiffs on the pickup and the failure is complete. I had to play that back a few times to see all that. Brute force wasn't the issue here. Technique, agility and the OL not playing in synch were the factors. It happens fast in real-time, so easier said than done.- 2024 Playoffs Round 1: Clemson at Texas
The last time Quinn Ewers and Cade Klubnik faced off⦠it was in the Texas HS State Championship š Cade Klubnikās team came out on top. Stats: Quinn Ewers: ⢠23/39 ⢠351 Yards ⢠3 TDs ⢠2 INTs, 1 fumble Cade Klubnik: ⢠18/20 ⢠220 Pass Yds ⢠97 Rush Yds ⢠1 TD pic.twitter.com/bQToQJfqPi ā College Football Report (@CFBRep) December 8, 2024 To be fair, a missing stat in that post: "The Chaps averaged 7.9 yards per carry, compared to 2.1 for Carroll". I didn't see the game, so have no qualitative input to add. Texas HS Football: No. 4 Westlake takes down No. 10 Southlake Carroll - 6A Division I title- Jonathon Brooks is a Bad Mother Fucker
Damn.- Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
Counterpoint - One more TD cancels the missed FG and wins the game without ever going to OT. I think that TD was there to be had by a QB with more poise and pocket presence.- Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
Agreed. I think you're being diplomatic here. We shouldn't expect a big time comfortable lead. This was the conference title game against a team stacked with blue chip talent through and through. I don't care that they don't have a perfect record and struggled in some games they shouldn't have. The same is true of us. Kirby, his faults aside, is an intense coach who coached his ass off in preparation for both games and in the game. That guy dots his i's and crosses his t's. Pedestrian QB performance isn't a realistic plan to beat Georgia nor win the playoffs.- 2024 SEC Championship Game: Texas vs. Georgia - 3pm on ABC
Neither am I, but other sites I post on censor, so typing "chit" is a habit. I would think it hardly worth commenting about though.- 2024 SEC Championship Game: Texas vs. Georgia - 3pm on ABC
The off sides against 91 was brutal. jumping vs lining up is terrible, completely unacceptable. Totally agree. That one also made me livid. Those were some of the boneheaded penalties I mentioned in the game thread. Bond's holds, his offensive PI, Cam Williams false start and some holds. All that chit fucked us.- 2024 SEC Championship Game: Texas vs. Georgia - 3pm on ABC
That false start made me livid. I was dreading the second kick. MFk'r!- Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
His habitual mechanics suck. When he throws with good form, he can put zip on it. When he's flustered, he discombobulates and it all goes to chit. If he's playing hurt, that can also cause poor mechanics and less than perfect throws as well.- Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
Iām sure arch will be ok with sitting another year To be fair, he didn't say using his last year of eligibility at Texas. But that point has been covered multiple times before. Most agree Quinn is encouraged to move on, or if he were allowed to stay, he would have to compete for the position. I don't see Sark annointing him the starter at the expense of Arch Manning or even the message it would send to future recruits. Conventional wisdom says if the competition is close, you go with the new talent with the higher ceiling.
