Which is....?
Yeah, I'm still waiting on "reasons" - plural - other than BYU won't play on Sundays and "they're pricks" with no context.

There are a lot of reasons BYU was never previously invited to a major conference. The Big XII is about to FAAFO about what a pain in the ass they are to have as a conference mate.
What reasons other than no play on Sundays?

If Arena Football is a marginal, minor league, this will be even lower on the totem pole.
People watch football for the violence. Hell, the Lingerie Football League, or whatever it's called these days, has a better shot at relevancy.

...and I don't see anyone developing the stranglehold that OU had.
This is what will make the Big 12 competition interesting and fun.
There's no reason UH can't surprise people if Fertitta and their money supports NIL at a high level. They've won the SWC 3x before and have given UT fits at times. Errbody recruits Houston for a reason - it's one of the top HS talent producers in the nation.
If TCU can do it, so can UH with financial backing and a few breaks.

Josh Pate,
Quote"If A&M thinks the only thing holding them back from a championship contender is the head coach, they'll buy him out regardless of the cost..."
Narrator: It's not, Josh, but they still can't afford the buyout.

Most AAC teams are in a region that gives a shit about football. Same reason Big XII looks like it will get significantly more than the PAC. The interest just isn't there west of the Rockies outside USC and UO and UW to a lesser degree.
Yeah, but...

This article says $4M per year. Of course SDSU wants a better deal, and whatever the PAC gets will be significantly more than a MWC payday.
I'm surprised the AAC teams each get $7M. Advantage, SDSU

Last I read, the new Big 12 teams will be making more than $30M per year, and the last numbers I saw from AAC payout per team was like $7M per year. So no, there is no real comparison as far as interest and ratings which is what the media companies are paying for.
But, how does the AAC media deal compare to the MWC's?
SDSU may need another home soon.

If it is sold, probably. And if sold, it will be for pennies on the dollar, like $100m. It provides Apple a linear channel in 14m homes with a lot of production equipment and the personel to use it. Though it would cease to be PacNet and would become linear Apple TV.
With their MLS and MLB regional agreements and the implosion of RSN, where rights can be gobbled up in various markets, they could expand the footprint more than the Pac ever could.
Well, then Kliavkoff will have earned his keep if not a medal. He inherited a shit salad from the assclown, Larry Scott.

In contrast, I gained a great deal of respect for Fouts during the '05 and '06 broadcasts at the Rose Bowl.
Against Michigan, you could tell Fouts only knew Vince from highlights and cheat sheets and hadn't really watched him play. By the fourth quarter of the USC game, you could see that Fouts recognized Vince's greatness and knew that Vince was going to win.
"Never seen anybody like him in my LIFE."
"You can have the perfect defense called, you can force him out of the pocket, but you're not gonna beat him. In-VINCE-able!"
Dan knew what was up.
Dan Fouts was the fuckin' man both on the field and in the booth.

I'm guessing the later. Either they are the smartest people in the room or this is going to implode drastically. The best expansion property on the board for them is now off market and ESPN is down to one window left and is cost-cutting at a remarkable pace.
I'm still under the belief that the reason this is taking so long is they are going to sell the PacNet to pay off their issues and regain some lost investment, which will look like increased revenue for 5-10 years. If someone leaves now, they may miss out on recouping that cost.
Who the fuck would buy PacNet? Apple?

When are uniform designers/manufacturers gonna learn that light color numbers - vegas gold, silver, etc. - get washed out on white jerseys? I see PA announcers are in for a hard time calling UCF road games. This minimalist design sucks, anyway.

Seems like a horrible copy of the version where Texas and blOU are announced moving to the SEC...
Indeed, it is.
Why would Cincinnati shit on The American, anyway?
