SEC talking heads, "The SEC just 'feels different' this year with more parity".
'Horns need to put an end to that narrative over the next two weeks. Fuck errrrrrrbody. This is our league now!

I'd expect nothing less from these shitheel, okie dirt burglars. It won't help, though.

Because some people don't want to watch two NFLs. We already have one. Lots of those smaller schools have great traditions, great alumni and fans, awesome towns, and are fun to watch because they'll try anything. I don't want to watch 36 teams who all run the same offense and defense and call the same plays and coverages. That's boring.
And I'm not getting any of the money so I really have no clue why some of you care about athletic administrators and sponsor companies making more of it.
Colossal upsets like Vandy over Bama are what makes CFB great.
It doesn't happen often, but it's glorious when it does. You've got Vandy students parading 3 miles down Broadway to dunk the goalposts in the river. Unforgettable

If everyone is a blue blood...
Then no one is.
The thing is, you need some Larry Krogers (need the dues) without a bunch of Flounders
and new rule, if you're not a blue blood, your cheerleaders MUST be hot.
I'm not advocating for FCS scheduling, but it can't be Texas vs Bama every week.
But, maybe that's just me. I don't watch or follow the NFL and haven't for years. I find it boring, corporate football.

Putting H-Town on anything is stupid. What really needs to happen is for the Adams family to have some bizarre succession crisis until the team lands with someone who will sell the branding back to the franchise. In a vacuum this looks great but it also hurts too much that it isn’t the Oilers.
Agreed
Abbreviations and airport codes always look half-assed. NFL teams shouldn't have any wordmark on their jerseys.

It’s flabbergasting that schools with such a good base template for uniforms would rather fuck around with unremarkable looks instead of establishing a “brand”/recognizable look. Their unbeveled Tt and with black helmets and black shirts is a fantastic look.
Agreed
I like their old school, red jerseys with black hats too. The beveled logos need to die.

I don’t think we’ll ever get to USC vs Texas games weekly. I see your point, but there are some schools that don’t belong at the highest level of competition and it’s blatantly obvious they’re happy cashing a check with minimal effort (Wake Forest, Purdue, Vandy, etc.)
Does TV want a bunch of .500 teams like the NFL? I hope not, bc that will suck.
The cannon fodder serves a purpose.

I give the Texans the benefit of the doubt that it’s a long game play. Adams family won’t give up Oilers name/logo/colors, and threatens legal action against any Houston team (including UH and Rice) using any similar color scheme. Texans tried to get an “H-town Blue” colored jersey and helmet approved, and apparently the Titans had veto power. So Houston used it as an accent color in a color rush uniform they are marketing the shit out of to establish it as one of their official colors, so they can hopefully make it a primary uniform color in a couple years. Silly and stupid it has to work that way. The Adams family is still so bitter they revel in trolling millions of football fans in the city of Houston, people who had no part in the decision to build Bud a new stadium or not.
Woof
I guess the kids like it.

In this hypothetical, would the SEC runner up be in the playoffs if they have 3 losses (Notre Dame, Texas, Texas) and never played Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, or Tennessee?
Their best win in that case would be...I guess Missouri or LSU depending on how they finish.
There's absolutely a chance that the committee makes the argument that A&M only made it to the CCG because they avoided the top teams in the conference.
Who gets in between let's say 2 loss Bama (Vandy, Tenn), 2 loss Georgia (Bama, Texas), 2 loss Ole Miss (UK, UGA), 1 loss Tenn (Ark), and 3 loss aggy?
Plus a 1-loss ND (that beat aggy), potential 1-2 loss Big 10 runner up, potential 1 loss Big 12 runner up...
Competition for that 11-12 seed (depending on G5 champion) is going to be crowded.
Top 2 in TV ratings get in. As usual, aggy gets fucked on any tie-breaker bc fuck aggy.

Game week 2024, week 7 Georgia @ Texas
in Football
I doubt Smart will be suspended, but it will be glorious if he is.
The aggy wailing about how "UT has Sankey in their back pocket" will only get louder. Fuckin' gumps.
