Wilner is firmly in the "bargaining" phase until the Pac-10 dominoes start to fall

CBS has the best production value and announcers.
Yeah, and it makes sense that they'd want CFB inventory. But, Disney & FOX have the ACC, SEC, and B1G locked up. Leaves the PAC and and Big 12, maybe both, for the 3:30 EST afternoon slot.

Bold predictions:
I think the SEC and BIG will stay at 16. ESPN makes the money work to keep the PAC 10 afloat. ESPN+ could have some interesting programming with the PAC 10 and Big 12’s second and third tier game. The top ACC teams have to eat shit until 2036. Notre Dame makes a deal with one of Fox and ESPN’s competitors, and remains independent.
So, NBC keeps Notre Dame and CBS gets the Big 12's T1 rights?

A spokesperson for the UC Office of the President told the Hotline that the regents have no authority to prevent UCLA’s move:
“There is no requirement for a decision from the University of California Board of Regents or the Office of the President.”
Simple as that. Why would they inform or involve the political fuck.
Ah, so hair gel Newsom is just howling at the moon. Big surprise

I don’t think it’s unreasonable for the UC president to expect to be part of decision making process that has significant political and financial impacts on the state.
Exactly
No announcement should've been made without his review, input, or approval. How does that happen? Communication breakdown or UCLA broke protocol. Or maybe Cal went full aggy after the fact?

How does UCLA leadership not include on some level, the president of the UC system?
California governance = Clusterfuck

Interesting comments from some ACC leaders. Basically begging ESPN to give them money for nothing https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/louisville/2022/07/15/josh-heird-louisville-acc-looking-for-espn-to-look-at-media-rights-deal/65373480007/
"...University of Louisville interim president Dr. Lori Gonzalez declined an interview request from the Courier Journal on the subject, a spokesman said, because “she thinks there are too many unknowns at this time to speculate on the future of the ACC...."”
ESPN has no motivation to renegotiate the ACC's media rights anytime soon. It was the best deal available when signed and they got fair market value. Otherwise, the deal wouldn't have been consummated.
Get in bed with the devil...

It's lame to copy Alabama, and they also have numbers on the helmet to make identifying players from the side easier. The numbers on top of the shoulder last year were too busy and no numbers at all is too plain. Number on the side like during the VY era was best.
At least they lost the horn logo on the bottom of the neck which was awful.
Looks like Nike raised the stripes on the sleeves and now there's no room for TV numbers. I don't see how you can say we're copying Bama with this look.

Newsom is such a fucking scumbag
Yeah, I have a difficult time believing the UC Board of Regents didn't already sign off on this move. Typical politics, covering your asses once the public finds out.

I never denied that we lacked development. I even mentioned OU winning with offensive schemes and OL development. Outside of QB and OL, I think development is the least important aspect of college football. Offensive schemes, five-stars, good evaluations and S&C are most important.
Strength & conditioning usually is filed under player development.

I'll bet aggy doesn't teach this at Fish Camp either. I assume that prior to 1949, they were colloquially known as the Farmers.

The SEC is for sure tough, but the last 2 members who joined, A&M and Missouri, had 2 of their best seasons in the past 30 the first 3 years after joining the conference.
A&M went 11-2 and 9-4 their first 2 years, They have only won 9 games once since 2014
I have yet to meet an aggy who can explain why A&M's best SEC team was their first - 2012. A team that was built to compete and win in the Big 12. I don't acknowledge their 9-win, 2020 Covid team as meaningful.

The good doctor says his math was off in the original Tweet. Regardless, the PAC is in deep shit. He claims UW/UO are more valuable in the Big 12.

Berkeley may want a cut of UCLA's largesse after all.

The FCS games are less about the easy wins and more about not having to schedule a home and home. The extra home game every year makes more money than scheduling North Texas over Missouri State would.
True, but fun fact - UT has played UNT 10x with every game in Austin.
I don't see any P5 team playing in FCS stadiums. If they schedule FBS, non-P5, it's usually a 2 for 1 deal.
Realignment talk not going away
