By the way, Saban mentioned he has been walking practices, viewing the team, etc. He already has an office he still uses. That does not sound like a healthy situation to me.
DeBoer was a fool to leave U-Dub for this situation. But he'll enjoy the buyout life for a while before he lands his next gig. The money and Bama's pedigree were too good to pass up.

Amazing what one can see when he goes back and watches the tape with the benefit of pause and replay. You'll often find that player execution, or lack thereof, had more to do with outcomes than the plays that were called. There's a reason coaches defer answering specific questions about plays or players until they've had a chance to watch the tape. No one can see everything that happens in real time.
FWIW, I did watch all of Manning's passes on YT the day after the game. I just can't watch the whole game twice. But, yeah, that's why coaches gotta watch the tape to diagnose the plays and performance.

Does the B12 have value? We’ll find out how much in the next media contract. Until then, Cody Campbell will try to drive national media revenue sharing. 😂
If any Left Behind wants to play a non-con game in Austin, or maybe even a 2-1 split, I suggest they begin their call with CDC’s assistant with, “Thank you for carrying us for all those decades”.UT's home games are all sold out, correct?
We'll see how the actual gate and revenue get hit with the 3 spares we have lined up: SJSU, UTEP, and Sam. Personally, I wouldn't be opposed to a 2 for 1 with Tech or Okie St. UH, TCU, and Baylor can rightfully fuck off, though.

I've gone back and watched the game twice now, because I hate myself. I am in complete agreement with you. Sark started off with a somewhat vanilla game plan, although not nearly as vanilla as people have been saying. The more I watch, the more I see open pass catchers that Arch didn't even try to hit. And that's on top of the times he made the right reads but fucked up the throw.
Why do this to yourself? I must say I admire your intestinal fortitude, though.

A few of my fellow Alum friends aren't big fans of them pushing the Star logo this year but I think its cool, we pretty much wear a different helmet every game so next time we wear white they will be happy to have the Super Cat or Script Cats back...
Do your fellow alums think it makes y'all look like Cowboys' wannabes? TSU has always had the Star in its seal, right? FWIW, I like the SuperCat logo too.

I think the House settlement also had a "clearinghouse" for NIL to evaluate whether the payments constitute legitimate NIL value and aren't just booster payments. It sounded really dumb and would almost certainly never even attempt to cancel an NIL deal. Even if it did, the name Manning itself would make his deals essentially limitless.
I don't know how you can accurately assess the "NIL value" of a player endorsement. That will always be a subjective, more opinion-based valuation. I mean, if Vuori is overpaying for Manning advertisement it will adversely affect their business. I've never heard of that brand. Apparently, they're based in CA.
Companies measure ROI for marketing differently, too.

I think all P4 programs are limited to $20M in rev share to players (for now at least). NIL is still the difference maker and I have no idea how Neby is doing in that regard. I assume nothing special since they still stink.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no cap on NIL earnings for players, right?
I've seen and heard that Arch is earning $6.5 MM this year, but I don't know if it's accurate. I mean, it's feasible with Red Bull, eyewear, clothing, and other individual endorsements from a car dealer, right? The NCAA can't crack down on these commercial opportunities according to the new law(s), correct? No, I haven't looked at this closely.

Volcano Vista? That’s a school?
Apparently, this is a real school. IDK where there's an active volcano in New Mexico, though.

The future is not going to have even media distributions.
Nope
The bluebloods and ratings-drivers will want a commensurate piece of the overall pie. This is why we broke away from the NCAA for TV contracts in the first place. OU, among others, was dissatisfied with its share.

Some guy who is full of shit
Well, yes, that's implied if he's an aggy mouthpiece. And who gives a fuck what they think?
I had some mouthy, dipshit aggy tell me how overrated Manning was last Friday night. I reminded him, "If talking were a sport, A&M would have 20 national championships and win the Director's Cup damn near every year". Sumbitch was right against tOSU, though.

The North sucked ass that year and OU and Aggy were both shitty. Baylor was old Baylor and OK State was also dog shit.
I don't think Texas is winning because the competition is better. It probably has more to do with Sark being a damn good coach who doesn't tolerate the shitty culture that had set in (see the bus rant after we beat your ass in '21).
Don't get me wrong, the SEC move is a clear success for Texas, but (pure outsider perspective) I think that has less to do with the SEC and more to do with Texas.
This whole "playing to the level of competition" narrative is tiresome, bc you're right. 3 outta 4 (or 8 of 9 using SEC methodology) national championships came while UT was a member of the SWC. The "jihad" argument is somewhat true, but look at our records against SWC foes historically. Did it matter overall? Not really.
Great teams beat whoever they're matched up against. UT has been far from great for a while, until the past 2 years. We've done well against everybody but UGA and tOSU.

2025 NFL season opener: Cowboys at Eagles, 7:20 on NBC/Peacock

Fucking ridiculous. Now I remember why I usually don't watch NFL games.
