When I was a kid, my father told me, "Never hit anyone in anger, unless you're absolutely sure you can get away with it."
Yeah? Well, I got the shit kicked out of me in Wisconsin once.

Why? They aren't going to play in the playoffs because that would mean giving up the Army-Navy Game. What would be the point? Just give up bowl games and get nothing in return?
IDK, man, maybe actually competing for and winning an FCS Championship is better than playing in the Armed Forces Bowl?
I'm not going to argue their level very passionately either way.

Good Lord, Aggies. Show some respect. At least quote the man correctly…….“It's one of the greatest places to play on earth,” Leach said at SEC Media Days. “That stadium — when I was at Tech — that's one of the Carnegie Halls of football there. Kyle Field, first of all, is gigantic and holds a ton of people. The grass is impeccable. The Aggies are always highly motivated. It's a fun place to play. I've got some great memories of our games at Kyle Field over the years.
Then Leach offered up a bit of a parting shot. “It was a fantastic experience,” Leach said. “It helped that we won most of them.”
If the gomers would lie about a General Patton quote, they'll do it for a rival coach.
RIP, Coach Leach

That's too bad.
IMO, the service academies should drop down to FCS competition. That's a better fit for their programs and talent level.

Is this the modern day equivalent of calling Deion an Uncle Tom?
SWAC people should kiss both sides of Deion's ass after how he raised their profile the past 3 years with national media coverage they NEVER received.
But, they're used to playing the victim card.

The difference is that the CU admin and academic culture are overall hostile to resources being spent on athletics. That’s why the last few coaches have failed. I’m optimistic that this will be a wonderful disaster that we all get to watch.
This will also explain why Stanford will never be as good as they were before NIL.
Admin is satisfied with water polo and gymnastics titles.

This crossed my mind yesterday after Deion to CU and Samples and Carrington to ASU. Certainly seems like both programs could possibly be making plans for a move to the Big 12.
CU needs revenue to pay their coaching staff.
ASU just hired two recruiters with ties to Texas with 0 conference games in the state. Of course, ASU would have to share their future plans with the new head coach. I can't see that happening, unless the Big 12 announcement is happening soon.
CU, ASU, AZ, and Utah should make the move yesterday.

I loathed the Steelers growing up in Houston, but actually had the pleasure of meeting Franco once at a business function in Honolulu. He was one helluva nice guy.
