  1. Lagway doing this spot while Rashada sues the beJEEZUS out of Napier is hilarious. Also, good for Lagway. Pretty damn cool. Also, also, the graveyard of failed 5* commercials and media filmed before they bust will be a treasure trove for internet snark.
  2. Starting at the top So....you're saying it's super different from the bag game, then. The mechanics of schools paying players directly are not close to being settled. That said, while schools may very well be able to pay players directly in the near future, collectives are absolutely not going away. If the role of a collective is to generally promote athletes, the AD, recruit donors, and facilitate events and activities pursuant to these goals, than it's reasonable to believe that collectives will be essentially folded in as university affiliated fundraising organizations. For demonstration, let's use Texas Exes (which sponsors more scholarships than any other affiliated org) as an example. The University of Texas is not funding scholarships promised by Texas Exes. They fundraise for the capital and write checks. Does that mean that Texas Exes is writing checks to students to cover tuition? Of course not - it's a sponsored scholarship setup with the school and the check is made out to the University. Scholarships, in this application, are sponsored offers of employment contracts. The major issue here, imo, is the difference between deep pocketed schools like Texas finding couch cushion money to pay players 1M each or something insane and needing a cap for fair play v. a continuation of exactly how it works now - collectives fundraising to pay athletes. Endorsements are endorsements, but collectives contracting players for community service isn't that. It's a clever way to inflate what you can pay them. Imo, that stays, but as a requirement of their employment.
  3. It is when your NIL program is the equivalent of tiger droppings
  4. Looks like he has some very recent context for that position
  5. And our unwillingness to meet demands like this for Toppin is why he's not coming, so................
  6. The only power 4 caliber PF/C options still in the portal are Trevon Brazile and Coleman Hawkins, both 6'10 PFs. Coleman is a scorer and Brazile hasn't been fully healthy in awhile. Hawkins is likely to Arkansas, but idk anything about Coleman's portal recruitment. Too bad we didn't get in on Ven-Allen Lubin who committed to UNC today
  7. Where does Brad Stevens fit in here
  8. Gerry is conceding Toppin to tech. Said it hit 7 figures and Texas walked away. Will still add another through the portal
  9. Not sure I've seen much, if anything about this guy, but reportedly... 4* Edge, Marco Jones (CA) is OVing the June 14th weekend https://www.on3.com/db/marco-jones-174804/
  10. Y'all are really working yourselves into a pretzel on Sanchez. Good salespeople know that closing a deal, won or lost, is equally valuable toward efficiency of action. Why call the one who isn't reciprocating interest (but marketing 247 loves this lead prospect!), when you can invest that time in a deal more likely to close?
  11. Because there must be a better option than playing for Elko MHP 2.0
  12. https://www.on3.com/db/dijon-lee-157947/ On3 prospect "analysis"
  13. Looks like Quinn's bag was a little heaver than the general population
  14. Yes. Would be incredible. Unlikely, but incredible.
  15. That's not very nice to Moore. Merrill is the trade equivalent of a bad contract
  16. Can't say I've ever seen a UVA/Cleveland Cavs mashup logo before. Can say I don't care to see one again.
  17. Allow me to scroll up for you In reply... To which I replied with a small selection of "top DT transfer candidates" that would be regarded higher than Savea and Norton, both. The circumstances in which they entered and exited the portal are not relevant to the reply.
  18. Off the top, Alexander, Toia, and Nolan would be more highly regarded
  19. That may work fine for you, but the 99% is the football board - know nothing reactionaries that need to be told what to think. Bobby is good for them because his conservative outlook tempers SHOW ME A LOSS expectations. Those who do know *literally anything* about football and the team can filter accordingly
  20. Right, because we've got the pitching coach thing totally figured out.
