  1. NCAA bylaw 13.6.2.4 NCAA bylaw 13.6.7.2 Source: NCAA regulations for official visits While the SEC has said since they renewed the game in Jacksonville that they would submit legislation to modify 13.6.2.4, but I don't see that's been done anywhere. This is all legislative proposals relevant to all of the official visit language https://web3.ncaa.org/lsdbi/search?bylawId=11594&ruleId=896&refType=proposal
  2. There are a few in the mold who he did not land that are actually playing good football. Johnny Wilson, Rome Odunze and Elijah Higgins have all gone over 1k career receiving yards as WRs. It's the ones that he did land that were busts.
  3. We don't use speed in the slot now. Everything Whittington does is off of a curl or long drag. He's not running go routes, and Greathouse could very capably fill that role. That said, I don't think we would see him there as a freshman. More likely they use a transfer, Red, or more 2 TE sets next season.
  4. A long yes: https://www.on3.com/teams/texas-longhorns/news/2023-4-star-derion-gullette-announces-commitment-to-texas/
  5. All good here, man. I was referring to this handwringing: If I'm defensive for calling out doom posting, so be it.
  6. My only point was that the handwringing throughout this page is pre-emptive at best as we're still in good shape to close a full class of priority hs targets. A point specific player doesn't do as much to fill the guard dearth in '24, and maybe I'm overly optimistic on Johnson and Stojakovic, but losing Elmarko to Kansas feels like a big 'meh' to me.
  7. Ironically, GT doesn't even have a coach. Now I'm debating whether Tom Herman and Todd Orlando are better than no one, and there's not a clear answer
  8. Elmarko was not/is not the top of our board Gerry a month ago Percentages aside, Gerry's list is our current hs prospect board. We didn't offer any true PGs. AJ Johnson is the clear preference, and we are positioned better in that recruitment anyway. Not to say they wouldn't have taken Jackson's commitment, I don't know that, but that Johnson fills the same need as a likely two year player. I will be curious to see what they do if we miss on baby Peja. There were recent notes about select family pushing for Stanford (local, sister vball, etc) and if they win out, I would assume we hold on a hs SF until '24, but they also have Malik Presley visiting this weekend, so who knows. https://247sports.com/Player/AJ-Johnson-46114381/ https://247sports.com/Player/Andrej-Stojakovic-46117544/ https://247sports.com/player/malik-presley-46103342/
  9. Off-season reports had Whittington leading his group in max acceleration in mph, I think. There are tweets out there somewhere. By running ability I assume we’re talking slasher stuff too like high school. The amount of insurance required for paying for an extra year would be nuts for both parties. Really, really expensive idea for anything under the 6th round
  10. Gerry says they will likely look to the portal for S and not prioritize Roberson.
  11. Gerry in response to percentages on priorities I think Texas takes 4 HS prospects, unless Beard determines to stretch it to 5. That's not his M.O. with the portal and wanting to marry experience with very talented freshmen, but we shall see. I'll go somewhat conservative on guys as visits are still ongoing ... Ron Holland - 53% AJ Johnson - 52% Andrej Stojakovic - 50% Samson Aletan - 50% Wesley Yates - 50% Elmarko Jackson - 33%
  12. Who? We would take both Damon Wilson and Vasek. Is there another national elite we've been recruiting, or would this be a fresh relationship beginning in October?
  13. Vasek: I'm going to visit Texas for the Alabama game Venables: Uh...well...I can understand that. I bet your dad has season tickets. Vasek: Yeah, he does. Venables: ..........are you going to sit with your dad? Vasek: I am not. I've got recruit tickets. Venables:
  14. Johnson was singled out in spring and camp reports constantly for his progress and work ethic. While he's not the most athletic player on the field, he's a good technician that knows the calls. That said, I would expect that an elite prospect (see closing speed) will outplay him and supplant him on the depth chart. If they keep Brooks at cb, he's probably the most likely candidate next offseason, followed by MM if he sticks. Brooks was 16 when he enrolled. He'll break out in a major way. Austin Jordan acquitted himself well. Ish is on the 3-deep. There are options on campus, it's just that Johnson is the best of them.
  15. I don’t generally like Aaron Torres, but this is phenomenal https://www.aarontorresonline.com/post/nfl-gambling-picks-odds-lines-points-spreadbetfred-sportsbook
  16. Yes, I know who Jalen Brown is, thanks. I don't know how this is some sort of rebuttal, though. It certainly doesn't diminish Kyle Parker as a prospect. They're also starkly different and would profile to different WR spots. I think it's mostly clear whom Texas could have a shot with if LSU continues to shit the bed. Jalen Brown isn't one of them and the staff wont waste their time there.
  17. 23-341-3 doesn't "move the needle much" lol I like our committed class, but if we end up with Kyle Parker, that would move my needle quite a bit.
  18. One does not simply sign with an LA agency and defect to CS.
  19. There are no New Jersey football fans in Central NY, as far as I'm aware. It's Syracuse basketball, Bills, Sabres/Leafs, and Mets/Pirates/Blue Jays
  20. Yes https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/college-football/5-star-2023-cfb-recruit-reportedly-lands-8-million-nil-deal-media-fans-react/ We fucked the Vols on Neyor, too. Should be a fun time.
