  1. Been reading posts on facebook with the same tired and worn out reasons for avoiding any gun reform: "Criminals will always find a way to get them" or "the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun." etc. etc. etc

Exactly... Obviously a biased viewpoint here, but ISU brings more to the table than most give them credit for.

I see ISU as a lucky Colordao St, as they were simply grandfathered in with the P5 despite lack of on-the-field merit.    They're not exactly dead weight since they do bring regional value, but in terms of national appeal, they aren't ,much different.

I'd be fine with a P5 split as long as the few Independents and G5s (BYU, Boise State, UCF, etc)  that actually carry more of their weight and bring more value then much of the P5 are included (promoted) as they bring more to the table (in terms of interest and revenue) and the deadweight P5s (Rutgers, Wake Forrest, Oregon State, etc) are dropped down to G5.

Since it will probably be empty stadiums anyway, they could play the season in spring training facilities.  That would minimize player travel.  Families can live in FL/AZ for the summer.  Test players daily.  Play it as Grapefruit and Cactus instead of AL and NL.  No interleague play.  WS is grapefruit vs cactus played in the teams' MLB stadiums.

They'are already talking about doing mostly that.

I think the Pac does have something to offer the B12.  They have some historic programs that have been run into the ground.  A takeover by the B12 will breathe life into these programs by offering legitimate administrative leadership which will improve their play and ratings which will be a revenue + for all.  They need to shed the leadership currently turning them into the Ivy League.

Are you implying that the Big 12 provides competent administrative leadership? LOL

Covid-19 may destroy the NCAA if no CFB is played next Fall or Winter 2021...

Heard talk on sports radio last week that now is definitely an opportunity for P5 AD's to come up with a new structure:  All of the P5 conferences could each have 14 Teams, agree to uniform scheduling rules,  and accept an 8 Team playoff system.

They would need to dump off the dead weight and promote programs of value in order to make it viable.

Ranger's new stadiums are jinxes.  In 1972 the first year of Arlington Stadium, the players struck and the season started late.  In 1994 the new Ballpark in Arlington the season ended in August when the players went on strike.  2020, the Rangers are ready to open their new stadium, the players are ready, but the Coronavirus shuts things down.  Batting 3 for 3 on not playing a full season in their new homes.

Adding to the jinx factor was them taking the homeplate from the old ballpark and planting it in Globe Life Field after the last game last season.  They did this in 1993 right after the season (taking the home plate from Arlington Stadium and taking it to the Ballpark In Arlington as part of a ceremony and looked what happened with regards to not having any world series titles in won during the rangers tenure in that ballpark.

I'm so sick of the "globe life field looks like minute maid" herp derp. If anything it looks like a new version of Safeco Field. I like the idea of air conditioned baseball in the DFW area but man this new park has little charm. Why is the roof red by the way? It looks strange with the dark green metal and lighter green seats. Might as well call it the christmas warehouse

I like the look of the green seats and fence, it provides a nice contrast to the red, white and blue of the color schemes.  I think it has a bit of charm, mainly in the angles of the outfield, the proximity of the seats to the field, but they could add some detail work to the arches, like adding some Texas flair (like stars or longhorns)  to the brick arches like they did on the facade of the old ballpark.  If they find a way to add alot of Texas-themed detail, this park could have alot of charms, the asymmetry itself gives it a head start in that regard.    I think this will be a better park then Minute Maid.
