  1. Kenny, all these big companies write off everything.
  2. Be sure to update us in three years.
  3. Tickets for Cain's went on sale at 10:00. There's Cain's tickets already on Stub Hub for $445-$1,069 each.
  4. I struck out on all the tickets for Billy Bob's and Cain's. I had tickets in my cart for both nights twice and it crashed both times. One time it came back up and said my request had timed out. That was on my computer. On my phone I've been verifying I'm not a robot for 30 fucking minutes. It'll give me a green check mark but won't add the tickets. Then asks me to verify I'm not a robot. Pretty frustrating.
  5. Wow, that’s really a brilliant job by Kirby and the coaching staff. Of course, maybe someone with a lick of sense should have told them to go ahead and beat Bama the first time and you wouldn’t have had to worry about them even being in the playoff.
  6. Sort of this. Conference championships should mean something, and for them to mean something, you need AQ for expanded playoffs. Or, only conference champions get in the playoff. The handwringing that would have happened because UGA wouldn't be in a playoff because they lost the SEC title game doesn't bother me. I'm aware CFB is hard to compare to other sports because there are 130 teams playing very different schedules, but the reality is there are only a very limited number of teams that have premium talent rosters. The Yankees won the World Series in 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953. But 1954 the Yankees didn't make the World Series despite winning 103 games because Cleveland won 111 that year. Cleveland got swept by the 97 win Giants in the Series. One could argue the Yankees were the best team, but they weren't the most deserving. Maybe the Yankees should have won 112 games that year and they wouldn't have sat home. 11 win NFL team might miss the playoffs while an 8 win team gets in because divisions are different, and that's okay. Sorry 12-1 UGA, you stay home while 10-3 Utah goes to the playoff. I imagine UGA is better than Utah, but Utah actually won their conference game when they HAD to get a win. The SEC championship game didn't matter to UGA because they were in even with a loss. The 2017 Big 10 championship didn't matter either. tOSU won it to finish 10-2 Big 10 champs but they missed the playoff in favor of 11-1 Bama that didn't win their division. Why? Because tOSU had the stones to play an OOC game with OU and came up short. Play strong OOC and win you conference and you get to stay home while non-division winner goes to the playoff. Some moron will say "well Bama won the playoff because they're the best team so they should've been there." Maybe tOSU would have won it if they were in. Maybe Bama should've beaten flipping Auburn if they wanted to be in the playoff. CFB is a dumb, dumb sport these days.
  7. Not that my position matters to the system, but I couldn't agree with any expansion that doesn't have automatic bids for conference winners. If you have 8 or 12 it'd be absurd to have a committee picking all the teams. This bullshit about picking the "best" teams over the most "deserving" teams because a room full of biased people use their "eye test" to place teams in a playoff is unnecessary with the 8 or 12 playoff model. After the auto bids for conference winners, that committee can do their normal contradictory mental gymnastics to add the remaining spots, but auto bids should be a requirement.
  8. He spent one semester there. That upper level stuff quoted isn't introduced until grad school.
  9. Expanded playoff and we probably still get Bama/UGA. How many rematches would we have in an expanded playoffs? Do we have to watch UM/tOSU again? BU/OSU again? Bama and UGA are in that small group that simply has a much better roster than everyone else. I'm sure it's just nostalgia, but I was fine with the bowl system and the arguments about who would have won when the Orange Bowl and Rose Bowl winners split the NC. I was fine with the BCS because we still got competitive bowl games and a game between #1 and #2. Now, while we can still have some good non-playoff bowls (OSU/ND and BU/Miss), those games still don't always have the teams best players and most bowls are opt out filled meaningless games. You can argue most bowl games were meaningless before the playoff, but all the players played and "wanted to be there". Times change and I'll stop scowling at the clouds for now, miss what my recollection is of what college football used to be, and simply await for the years to add up until it's socially acceptable for me to yell at the clouds.
  10. On a crisp fall evening On a career bound for nowhere I met up with a Gambler We were both too drunk to sleep So we took turns a-stumblin' Out the bars into darkness The booze overtook us And he began to speak You got to know when to screen 'em, Know when to slant 'em, Know when to punt away, And know when to run. You never count your scores When you're drinkin’ on the sideline There'll be time enough for countin' When the drinkin’s done.
  11. She’s obviously an Arians operative. EXCLUSIVE: Fired Bucs star Antonio Brown smuggled OnlyFans model - who went viral for licking a toilet seat in 2020 - into his hotel for a steamy sex romp and told her to watch 'what I do tomorrow' - the night before he stormed off the field https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10367913/NFL-star-Antonio-Brown-snuck-woman-hotel-room-night-meltdown.html
  12. I know what Brandr is. I'm saying it's incredible simple to state "strategic leveraging of NIL opportunities" means approving such things for Caleb Williams and other players. How do you feel about: IMHO "strategic leveraging of NIL opportunities" is a very benign statement to try and assign a violation of any rule, including the highlighted portion in your post. There isn't an athletic department in the country that isn't presenting recruits with information about how they can maximize their earning potential at X University. I appreciate you taking the time and I won't derail any further.
  13. So, you don't think that statement can be something as simple as: "As we continue to evaluate opportunities in the new era of name/image/likeness for all of our student-athletes, working alongside our legal counsel, I am thrilled to announce a new agreement with Brandr for group licensing on Texas-branded and officially licensed merchandise bearing the NIL of Longhorns student-athletes," UT Vice President and Athletics Director Chris Del Conte said. "Now fans can purchase Texas Longhorns items like jerseys and t-shirts and support their favorite players, which we have never been able to do before, and the student-athletes are able to profit from those sales through their agreement with Brandr."
  14. I promise you spend infinitely more time on NIL dealings and the rules behind it than I do, and know infinitely more than I do. Can you explain to me what rule, law, or statute you think that statement indicates is being violated? I honestly do not know and am curious to learn.
  15. You seem to be reading a lot into "...and strategic leveraging of NIL opportunities." I doubt it'd be very hard to find a CDC (or any other AD) statement about how the University can provide tools for athletes to their NIL branding.
  16. I'm not sure I understand your point. How is Arians telling AB to go into the game preventing AB from trying to reach incentives? Is it your belief Arians and the Bucs would rather save $1M than have AB on the team when they're already down Godwin and Evans is banged up? Arians took the heat by ignoring his "one strike" mandate after AB's vaccine card fraud and you think now Arians is doing this to look good?
  17. Pretty and vindictive? You're going to make some dude very happy and very miserable.
  18. The director's cut is even better. Although the whole story kinda comes apart at the end there. Out of nowhere there's this lone dancer who appears to be injured. It's a disturbing image.
  19. And OU is apparently honoring retired coach Lon Kruger at the game tonight. Would seem odd to detract from that previously scheduled event by announcing a football coach. I'd say no one knows the status of a potential hire and doing the typical poo slinging in an attempt to be first to report a development. That said, I just can't see a scenario that both Rhule and Brady wanted to be in the NFL and would bail 1/2 a season in. Makes absolutely no sense and can't image it ever happening.
  20. I think my favorite part of LSU's game winning touchdown, is aggy has a corner who should be playing safety and a safety who should be down in box (or not on the field at all). And everyone but aggy knows it.
  21. From your prior post, Pelini was at OU for only the 2004 season. Mike returned after getting fired at Arizona because the defense was good with Mike and Brent, not so good with just Brent. When Brent left with hurt feelings, Mike's defenses weren't any good either. Brent somehow had great defenses without Mike. Brent wasn't doing anything different at Clemson than he did at OU. The difference makers at Clemson were better than at OU and the offenses in the ACC weren't as good at the Big 12. Pretty simple that the best coaches seem to have the best players.
