  1. The White House's statement in full published at 12:59

Today, President Trump and President Putin spoke about the need for peace and a ceasefire in the Ukraine war. Both leaders agreed this conflict needs to end with a lasting peace. They also stressed the need for improved bilateral relations between the United States and Russia. The blood and treasure that both Ukraine and Russia have been spending in this war would be better spent on the needs of their people.

This conflict should never have started and should have been ended long ago with sincere and good faith peace efforts. The leaders agreed that the movement to peace will begin with an energy and infrastructure ceasefire, as well as technical negotiations on implementation of a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea, full ceasefire and permanent peace. These negotiations will begin immediately in the Middle East.

The leaders spoke broadly about the Middle East as a region of potential cooperation to prevent future conflicts. They further discussed the need to stop proliferation of strategic weapons and will engage with others to ensure the broadest possible application. The two leaders shared the view that Iran should never be in a position to destroy Israel.

The two leaders agreed that a future with an improved bilateral relationship between the United States and Russia has huge upside. This includes enormous economic deals and geopolitical stability when peace has been achieved.

The part I bolded is hilarious. It's just Trump and Putin on the call, so throwing in that line implies the nonsensical claim that Ukraine started this thing.

Wokeness has no place in America and I will not stop assisting President Trump in Making America Great Again! It all happened really quickly, but I believe the officers who sought me and deliberately entrapped me by pretending to be a child in need of help were trans!"

didn't he give his kids a full year of protection after he left office ?

"Former presidents and their spouses receive life-long Secret Service protection under federal law, but the protection afforded to their immediate families over the age of 16 ends when they leave office. But outgoing presidents can extend protection for those who might otherwise not be eligible for up to six months after they leave office, something Biden did for his children and Trump did for his family after leaving office in 2021. Former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush also extended protection for their families for a period."

That’s correct. Also, as a matter of “decency”, the past 5 or so transitions of the office have included the incoming POTUS extending that protection for adult children for 6 months, which is allowed. Trump, because he is Trump just couldn’t do that. It’s about 2 months early and the only reason to pull the details is to give his base new stuff for their spank banks.

Exactly. Trump gave his four adult kids 6 months protection after he was voted out after his first term. Despite all his bullshit trying to overthrow the free and fair election, shit on the Constitution and America, Biden didn't pull any protection. Trump is just the worst person.

A white minority group in South Africa has been a central focus for Trump.

Trump falsely accused the South African government of a rights violation against white Afrikaner farmers by seizing their land through a new expropriation law. No land has been seized and the South African government has pushed back, saying U.S. criticism is driven by misinformation.

I think Trump's policies are generally driven by misinformation. I think driven by misinformation could be identified as his entire political life's major theme.

“It’s really hurtful for the president to insinuate that you don’t exist or that your job consisted of sitting at home doing nothing and cashing the paycheck,” he says. “I’d like to see him sifting through spiny naiad in 120-degree weather looking for parasitic snails. He’s the one that goes golfing on the government dime. I don’t even know how to golf.”

Exactly. I'd like to see the golfer's reaction to a giant Slor! Many MAGA and MUSKS will know what it is to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!

Jack Smith was appointed in 2023, and not in 2021.. Appeals in all of turnip’s cases were not handled as expeditiously as humanly possible. And a failed coup ringleader was allowed on ballots and was elected leader of the free world.

Edited to say that the legal system performed less than admirably in the cases brought after the election of 2020. Sixty plus lawsuits? Outrageous. Torrent of lies, in effect, unchecked. Sure, turnip lost those cases, just as reasonable folks explaining fact counters any given propagandist lie. Cumulatively, the lie is believed.

I share the opinion Jack Smith should have been appointed in 2021 and not 2023. I'm not sure the end result changes, though. The part about the appeals not being handled fast enough isn't specific enough for me to comment, but I think we all wish the wheels of justice turned faster. In court, Trump was convicted of multiple felonies and found liable for sexual assault, so I tend to blame the American voters for electing the coup ringleader.

Regarding the edit: all the courts can do is rule on the cases brought, and as you point out, Trump lost those cases. The courts can't make people believe the truth instead of propaganda.

I appreciate you taking the time to rationally express your thoughts on the issue.

I have gratitude to the medical system, not disdain, for its handling the Covid crisis. The legal system has shit the bed in the most disgusting manner imaginable as it enabled turnip’s return to power.

I'm glad that you appreciate the medical systems handling of the Covid crisis. Did the legal system do okay keeping Trump from retaining power the first time? I'm happy to listen to your opinion on how the legal system shit the bed in the most disgusting manner imaginable enabling him to return to power.

I think you are understating reality. When it has been proven by actions that laws and the constitution that underlies them don’t have to be followed, I would posit that the entire legal profession has been turned on its head. Our judicial system is a joke and works to the benefit of the rich and powerful. If polled, what percentage of respondents would respond that they have trust in our legal system? I have lost all trust and I come from a family of attorneys, including a federal judge appointed by Truman.

If polled, what percentage of respondents would respond that they have trust in our medical system? Financial system? Local, state, federal government? Which of those systems works to the benefit of the rich and powerful?

I think you’ve got it backwards. Gleason is the patsy and Musk is the liaison with the hackers.

Apparently, I wasn't clear. I was opining as to the bullshit the lawyers would be forced to say to try and explain it.
