  1. So Burton has dropped the odds of landing Harrell to 40% and raised the odds on Ash to 90%.
  2. Here’s a pretty cool article about Bijan, didn’t want to cause panic and put it in his thread. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2866444-he-will-be-a-hero-to-a-lot-of-people
  3. Man, I bet the famous Jon Favreau hates this shit.
  4. In actual recruiting news, Roach is hearing that Ty Jordan could flip to Utah.
  5. FWIW, Burton is still leaning Ash as the next DC and puts it around 80%, but does mention Odom as a potential hire. He didn’t put any odds on Harrell and in general there seems to be very little to report.
  6. Damn, he’s telling Slovis he’s leaving via Twitter. That’s cold.
  7. Something tells me he’s a coach on the field.
  8. Chip (I know) is saying that they’re getting conflicting info on Harrell and to keep an eye on Lashlee.
  9. The world is a prison yard and we’re the shot caller. At least for now. So pay up bitches.
  10. Too often people confuse an alliance with friendship. It’s difficult to be someone’s friend when you’re paying them for protection.
  11. Oh, I didn’t mean to mislead anyone on this issue, my apologies. I think there are Republicans to be had, but I’m definitely not one of them. Trump is a means to an end, that’s about it. I can’t remember a presidential candidate that I’ve voted for where I was excited to cast my ballot and it certainly won’t begin with Trump. It’s a binary choice and there is no Chrispy party, so my choice is fairly limited.
  12. I live in a very red area, they’re out there for sure. If they Democrats move to the middle, things could get very interesting.
  13. So Trump took Obama’s success and continued the upward trend, exceeding most prognostications? Why one wouldn’t want this unprecedented success to continue is beyond me, I must admit.
  14. A but Obama? You don’t hear that very much anymore, that’s impressive. Almost as impressive as the current Trump economy. I’ll mark you down as a maybe for MAGA 2020? Anyway, my point was that there are Republicans concerned about some of the same issues and could be had, even during these good times.
  15. I think there’s reasonable debates to be had about all of those topics, well except international standing. These countries grandstanding do make me chuckle, though, as they stand in line for milk from our tit.
  16. I’m not trying to sell you or anyone else in this thread on anything, I think many of you are too dig in, including myself. I say tinkering because the latest jobs report was better than I anticipated, unemployment is at a 50 year low, and stocks an all time high. Times are very good, but I also understand there can always be improvements, as there is no perfect system. Especially when it comes to the wealth disparity; I think more republicans are willing to listen to this issue if the Democrats provide a cogent argument. Government isn’t the enemy Reagan made it our to be, but it also isn’t the savior the modern Democrats make it out to be either. They seem to be missing their opportunity, though, with these silly ideas of free healthcare, free college, Green New Deal, etc.
  17. I’m sorry to hear you’re no longer a Republican. I’ve spoken to more than a few Republicans that would favor some tinkering wrt economic theory, as the feeling is that trickle-down seems to have underestimated our inclination towards greed. Or properly estimated, depending with whom you’re discussing. On the other hand, I will also say that the revulsion towards the Democrats on this topic is almost palpable. The sense that they want to throw the baby out with the bath water is the overwhelming conclusion, so it’s a no go. Some Republicans are there for the taking, to be sure, but the Democrats have alienated them for the most part.
  18. I’m not telling anyone to do anything. Fundamentally, I agree with you, it’s just that it isn’t realistic. I understand why people disengage from politics, hell I have myself lately. Politics move terribly slow, are very toxic, and there’s a whole lot of losing and/or not getting what you want. Even when Republicans win, the excitement is very short lived because it’s on to the next battle. It can be very draining. The cynical part of me understands why the the Democrats played it this way; so as to file it in the “at least we tried” folder and people can move on fairly quickly.
  19. I chuckled. I know Republicans aren’t welcome here, so I’ll keep my interaction to a minimum.
