  1. Well then there is always next year for Shane, or maybe 2 or 3 years from now. Rory is great, but he has had to overcome some bad memories of victories that slipped away.
  2. Shave does his best Rory impression to allow Sepp to pick up another win
  3. Man o'man - I really hope you are right. But this feels different than in the past, but maybe everything goes that way. I don't think the US government has ever embraced the leaders of business (oligarchy) like it is now; this country was built on immigration, but the last comprehensive reform package passed by Congress was in 1986, parts have been tweaked but no major bill since then. I live in an agricultural area, and many specialty crops will go unharvested because of fear of ICE. Before that there were high school and college kids who would pick fruits and vegetables next to immigrants, but the US youth don't want to do that work today & the immigrants can't get the VISA's they did in the past or fear they will get rounded up. Many of these were families, and the came for the harvest and went back to Mexico (this was years ago), but then Mexico became to violent so they stayed...but with no real path to citizenship or permanent status. MAGA throws a blind net of murderers, rapists, etc and ignores those who produce for our economy. I don't know the answer to this problem, but blindly shipping them "back" doesn't seem like the right solution. I know some people who view this as a Trump problem, but I fear he is really the figurehead, a TV spokesman, who could rally the votes. They think that once he isn't running that balance will come back to the political system. I think there are powerful people actually pulling the strings, and changes are being made to how elections will work that will keep these people in power for many more cycles. No one should just throw up their arms, but I do think that people will take personal peril to challenge the party (we have really already seen this when powerful politicians have ceded their voice to Trump (and his shot callers), people like Rubio, Cruz, and many others; along with the group that were able to get elected because they worship at the feet of MAGA (Taylor Greene, at least 3 here in Michigan that I could name, Boebert, etc. I guess we will wait and see how the mid-terms go, with the economy stalling, tariffs on the horizon, inflation returning (if tariffs hit), the market caught between Presidential announcements, and potentially lower voter turnout. But hey - American Pope, born in Chicago, did a stint in seminary high school in Michigan and a Big East grad so go Pope (though to be honest I was really hoping for Cardinal Pizzaballa....because I like to say it)
  4. In an interview, the Assistand Secretary for Public Affairs DHS stated they would arrest members of Congress 'We're not playing': DHS spokesperson reveals plans on CNN to arrest members of Congress - Raw Story And yet this President pardoned those who participated in the Jan 6 2021 insurrection; compare and contrast these two events and the MAGA reactions.
  5. Americans are also called Yanks (short for Yankee) by Brits, so are all Texans also Yankees? The Gulf of Mexico is called the Gulf of Mexico by every, except MAGA. So which is it? And water is wet, except it is not. It is a liquid, that when it is on another substance, them that substance is wet. So the real question is can a liquid make itself wet? H²O is not the only liquid, any liquid you come in contact with gets you wet. Perhaps I am a liquid, because I made South Austin's mom wet, before...well, the rest of that story is not going to be posted in a Papal thread.
  6. That show is about my stonk investment performance
  7. The correct answer is Dire Straits, Walk of Life - as demostrated here https://www.youtube.com/@wolproject2952
  8. I am hoping that if Pizzaballa is elected he chooses Pepperoni I as his Pope name. I mean who wouldn't like Pope Pepperoni Pizzaballa?
  9. I'm still hoping for Cardinal Glick, from New Jersey get the votes
  10. that chart make me haz a sad; when I think about what could have been 😢
  11. Yup, he's been doing it for 60+ years. His job consists is reading financial news, reading financial reports, talking to senior executive from Berkshire operating companies, and recently taking an afternoon nap. It isn't like he's working in a mine, running a press, or out mowing lawns in Houston in the summer.
  12. and I will say it again - he isn't even retiring, he is giving up one of his titles. anyone who thinks he won't be involved is fooling themselves. then again, this tells me to have funds available when he dies and/or cant sit at a desk anymore reading the financial news.
  13. Good move (hopefully), but I think it shows that there will be another opportunity when Uncle Warren can't be the Chairman. Because, IMO, him stepping down as CEO is a mere window dressing, as Chairman I think he will still go into the office every day...after stopping at McDonalds for breakfast, so he can read the WSJ, have his breakfast sammy and his first (or second) coke of the day.
  14. Quail Hollow is home to 4 wins for Rory, so after winning the Masters is the co-favorite at +500, along with Scottie (shows what a dominant week can do for you) Jordan looking for his career grand slam; JT returning to where his won is 1st major (FWIW -8 was the winning score in 2017); Bryson looking to prop up the LIV crewe, and for fun Michael Block (of the 2023 Block party fame at Oak Hill has qualified. I have great hopes for this to be a close event with big names dominating; and Jordan with a chance (for the 9th time) to get the slam. 18th hole is 494 (from the tips) and makes for a challenging finish. Quail Hollow Club
  15. Good thing he didn't say accountant
  16. Christ man, you should write a movie.....or did you already?
  17. UK and India above a new trade agreement, that was negotiated over 4 years https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5y6y90e5vzo President Huff and Puff gonna get 75+ done in 90 days....NOT
  18. You just want me to say, so you can take the other side. Amirite?
  19. da'fuk - time to start sniffing glue
  20. I need 30 dolls, or even 2-3, so this doesn't affect me. Let's face it, "we" are just dumb fucks, let by a mainly backward facing media, and a loud mouthed mouth breather cult leading morning, and in 6-9 months they will all be surprised that no one saw it coming.
  21. He's not going anywhere, IMO it is all window dressing. Warren will continue to be Chairman, go into the office and do what he wants. I'm not complaining, but I think this is meant to ease all those who worry about his age & what happens when he dies (or can't go into the office)
  22. that costs extra, but it is worth the price (or so I've heard)
  23. Ruth Buzzi, 88 - might just be me and @Armybrat who remember laugh-in
  24. Jeez, that sounds like a lot of effort, how about we just throw rocks off overpasses (like the normal posters)
  25. It might be #2, I still put his shot at Pebble from the cliff side as #1 Jordan being Jordan shot (for just another ho-hum par)
