2 Ford plants closing due to workers testing postive

Ford Motor Co. confirmed Wednesday that it was forced to temporarily shut down production at two of its plants — one in Dearborn and the other in Chicago — because of workers testing positive for COVID-19.

"When a Dearborn Truck Plant employee who returned to work this week tested positive for COVID-19, we immediately began to notify people known to have been in close contact with the infected individual and asked them to self-quarantine for 14 days," Felker said. "We are deep cleaning and disinfecting the work area, equipment, team area and the path that the team member took."

In Chicago, two employees who returned to work this week tested positive for the virus. The same protocols were applied in those cases, and Chicago Assembly now is running again. Due to the known incubation time of the virus, Ford said "we know (these employees) did not contract COVID-19 while at work."

Gonna be a lot of starting and stopping production businesses that have large a workforce and are doing testing

That river and most of its banks are already highly contaminated with dioxin, which is some pretty bad shit.

Michigan is just one giant Superfund site at this point.

meh - Midland (home of Dow Chemical) is like a love child of the Golden Triangle and the ship channel, but without the humidity

So really the question should be - Is a hot dog bun one piece of bread or is it two pieces of bread?

If you’re convinced that CVX will outperform XOM, then swap out. What difference does it make if you’re taking a loss?  Depending on your situation, it might even be beneficial from a tax standpoint.

Agree - too many people hold for sentimental or emotional reasons - don't want to take a loss, made money on it before, etc.....stocks have no conscience or memory, if you think CVX is a better opportunity then why not buy it from the proceeds of something with a lessor chance
(there can be tax reasons to not sell things with gains, as that can trigger tax liabilities...but to hold onto losses until you regain your entry point is mind bottling)

    Spoiler

None of you are in danger, and none of you are putting others in danger. Grow up and get over this fear.

Under no circumstance would I sit in a hundred degree heat with a mask on. None.

I'm just curious enough to ask how you've determined this, because I can't fathom this take.
But then again I have family and friends in the medical community - including a niece whose a nurse and lost a patient after 20+ days in ICU, and it is wrecking her emotionally.
But then again I have a DIL who works in the hospital as an aide, has seen the patient load from COVID and she's not sure its real and thinks she has some magic immunity (hope she does for her & her kids sake)

Today’s match made me think about the greatest skins shot ever.

Reminds me of the Par 3 shootout held at TreeTops from 1999 to 2006, which was a fun event - I still need to play their Threetops par 3 course; and of course Lee did this 200, to win another $1,000,000

    Always a fan of Lee

Saudi wealth (not wreath) fund went stonking buying half a million bucks of various blue chips here and there.

That seems odd to me - half a million buck is what the Saudis can find in their couch, can you link because I'm guessing it's more like half a billion, or in today's news cycle maybe half a trillion

  10. Rory/DJ v. Rickie/Matt Wolf on Sunday - skins game -

    https://www.pgatour.com/news/2020/05/12/how-it-works-taylormade-driving-relief-skins-match-rory-mcilroy-dustin-johnson-rickie-fowler-matthew-wolff.html

    HOW TO FOLLOW

    ● Sunday, May 17. Live coverage will air from 2-6 p.m. ET

    ● Television Broadcast: NBC, GOLF Channel, NBCSN, Sky Sports and other PGA TOUR global media partners

    Quote

    THE FOUR-BALL SKINS GAME

Two-man teams will play Four-Ball under Rule 23 of the USGA rules. Each player will play a separate ball. Each team’s score for a hole is the lower score from the two partners.

All money is for charity. The team of Rory McIlroy-Dustin Johnson will play for the American Nurses Foundation. The team of Rickie Fowler-Matthew Wolff will play for the CDC Foundation. Each team will start with $500,000 in the bank.

Each hole will be worth a Skin and in the event of a tied hole, the Skin and money will carry over to the next hole.

    • Holes 1-6 will each be worth $50,000.
    • Holes 7-15 will each be worth $100,000
    • Hole 17 will be worth $200,000
    • Hole 18 will be worth $500,000.

Example: If neither team wins a Skin in the first six holes, then hole 7 will be worth $400,000.

    NOTABLE PLAYING ADJUSTMENTS

Unlike regular PGA TOUR events, some interesting adjustments have been made for this competition:

    • Distance measuring devices (DMD) will be allowed. However, the use of slope and elevation features on DMDs will not be permitted.

    • All players may wear shorts.

    • No caddies are allowed. Thus, all players will walk and carry their own bags or pull a trolley. Carts will be used to transport players to the 17th hole in case of a playoff.

    • Players will wear mics. On-course interviews by NBC announcers will also take place.
