  1. Meh - only down to -7° here this morning, slight breeze at 10-15mph gusting to 25+, puts a little chill in the air. Supposed to get up to 45° on Sunday, that'll be nice; and by nice I mean a sloppy, slushy mess which will refreeze early next week.

Only 3 more months until I get out on the golf course again.

ST. LOUIS • St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly M. Gardner on Monday questioned whether police tried to block drug and alcohol testing of on-duty St. Louis police officers who were present when an off-duty colleague, Katlyn Alix, was shot last week.

The letter to Chief John Hayden and Public Safety Director Jimmie Edwards says there was "probable cause at the scene that drugs or alcohol may be a contributing factor in a potential crime."

In the letter, released Tuesday, Gardner says a police lieutenant erroneously told her office that a hospital would not honor a search warrant for the officers' blood. Gardner wrote that hospitals commonly accept search warrants in criminal cases.

The letter says urine and breath tests were later performed, but not a blood test, which can be more exact. They later learned that the samples had been obtained by internal affairs in a way that may block their use in a criminal prosecution. Officers generally must comply with internal affairs investigations, but that compelled testimony or evidence can't be used against them in court.

Also - her mother released more photos, too much head tilt; would not bang, bang, bang (instead of holding the duck she should have learned to duck)

  3. Alex Smith's devastating injury will likely prevent him from playing in 2019 (source - https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2818019-the-94-million-question-can-washington-replace-alex-smith-in-free-agency)

Alternatives listed in the article include Colt (also injured), Sanchez, Josh Johnson, Bortles ....

So surly add your suggestions for the 'skins QB in '19

clearly on the list are VY, Johnny Football, could RGIII, GG go back to Washington?, get someone back from the booth (Bradshaw, Romo, Brady Quinn), Flutie ..... maybe Brian Hoyer, he's on a SB roster for the 3rd time this year?

I find it hilarious that a team gets into this situation, but QB contracts are what they are

Just another example of the olds wanting to stamp down the exuberance of youth. Who the hell wants to live to be older than 55 anyway? Amirite? Who the hell expects to have any of their mental facilities or cardiac function left after age 55? Amirite?

FWIW - 55 is young, quite young actually

Now get the hell off my lawn!

Low of -34 predicted for Wednesday AM.  High of 34 on Saturday.  Just your typical 70 degrees over 3 days temperature swing.

6" of snow last night, and another few more shots predicted over the 10 day, after this cold snap ends.  Should be good conditions for the fat bike, snowmobiles, and skiing.

"Perfect" weather for a buddy of mine who does the Arrowhead 135. It started today when it was about -10°, it is supposed to hit -25° tonight and the high tomorrow is -18°.
I think it's crazy - 135 miles on trails mainly through Arrowhead State Trail in Minnesota, you can follow progress along the way http://www.arrowheadultra.com/

Spieth's search for distance + the yips = no bueno, he'll get it back on track

Yeah - I was looking at this weeks OWGR, and Jordan is now at 20. He has 1 top ten since last years Masters, and 4 missed cuts.
I sure hope he can put all the pieces back together, win some events & make a run at a couple of majors getting the career slam

  7. Haven't seen on of these in a while.
I think I'll respond, and then invest all of it in lottery tickets
    What could go wrong?

I think I'd rather have a glass full of squirming flesh-eating worms than watching that movie again.

Anyway, a quick reminder why one's speed should never exceed one's visibility.

That guy is an idiot, because at the start of the video you can see 2 cop cars with lights flashig going by as he enters the freeway. Where did he think they were going on the highway, a donut shop. He deserves to get his CDL pulled for that shit. Driving faster than you can see, following emergency vehicles, in a snow storm and being the 2nd or 3rd idiot into a chain reaction ... this is how people die, when you are hauling tons of freight and you aren't in control.

Makes me ragey - as we typically have several chain reaction accidents each year somewhere in the Midwest because of blowing snow and idiots who don't understand driving conditions.

Not great but oddly, the OC position is the least of our worries right now.  Our coaching staff and kids were so unorganized over the last 8 years that we need to just get that fundamental organization down.  We were calling timeouts coming out of the quarter breaks in almost every game this year.  If we can instill confidence in the kids, get them to obey the basic rules of football, and practice hard (yes this is a problem for us) then we will start 3-0.  We've got Indiana State, Coastal Carolina, and BC in the noncon.  Just being an organized team that plays hard gets us through that.  We can beat baylor and we can beat tech and we might be KSU, all are in Lawrence and the fans will be interested again because of Les.  We have a tough start to conference play (WVU, @TCU, OU, @UT) but the end of the year is stacked with games we can compete in and show good progress with.

The sky can't fall any further down so there is a lot to be encouraged by.  Fuck, we might just keep this guy for a year and then dump him if the up and coming offensive assistant is all he is touted to be.

Good luck buddy - I've been there before, hoping Bobby Williams and John'elle Smith were going to right the ship, but it can happen; hoping for you and KU fans that Les is more.
