  1. looks like a fairly small complex - I hope this doesn't go to shit, escalates to the Fed's and they burn the place down. Pretty sure Koresh didn't want LEO on his property.
  2. I just did 2 minutes due diligence on the Sanders comment, and I believe he made it. And rereading it I realize what an asinine perspective this is, that money managers will ruin democracy; all while he serves as 1 of 3 senators who are declared as independent (though he caucus's with the Dems lest his platform be lessened), and 0 representatives are independent. Not to overtly CR this thread, but having only 2 strong political parties seems like it is tearing apart democracy in this company.
  3. Prime music went to hell about 6 months ago - they took play lists and basically made them into suggestions. You cannot play the music you want to listen to without some algo playing something that is in your "liking". I didn't cancel prime, but I did start useing Spotify (because my daughter - lol, no pics - pays for the family plan, so now she can monitor what I listen to ). And I could get the same service as in the past for something like $9.99/month or maybe it was more. So I just quit using it. And about Kindle - look into a free book app. I use both Libby and Hoopla; Hoopla limits you to 7 items a month. Libby is unlimited, but seems to be a slimmer selection. Both are free, but you have to link the app to the Library where you are a member (oh btw, most of those are free).
  4. That has been around for a while, my son showed it to me a couple of months ago - asking what I thought about it. And then I explained to him how mutual funds and EFT's worked, and that there are actually millions of owners, and the owners investments are managed by by the companies that Bernie mentioned (not even sure if this is real, since X and social media) I like SPY, because it is actively traded. So that is what I have in my account that I play in the options market; for long term investments I have VOO and some FXAIX, depending on where the funds are sitting.
  5. Have you been to a movie recently - the whole time before the show time is local commericals, then at the show time they start an entire new group of commercials that the distribution company sells; so how is that better than when the actual movie started when they said it would start. And in reality is that the streaming services that have been around for about 10 years, have adopted the TV experience. You still have to watch commercials on TV, cable, etc. If you don't want to watch commercials then buy a dvd. And it is about price - because you can (usually) pay to get the no-ads version. Step up to the Surly 1% and don't be poor.
  6. okay boomer, or X or Y or Z'er I'm an old man (not @Armybrat old but still old enough) This isn't any different then saying - I used to go watch the moving picture show for a nickel - I used to to the drive in picture show for $2 - I used to get gas for my car for $0.50/gal jump for ward to the late 90's - the internet is ruining everything,, now the 2000''s and Amazon will kill all local businesses Now - get off my lawn, and go yell at the clouds in your yard
  7. I may kill the rally by going long on st SPY calls; don't underestimate my power as I'm holding the bag on my 7-13 month BRK calls. I killed all of Uncle Warren's momentum. Maybe, nothing for sure yet. I have to figure out how much stupid money I have laying around
  8. All I know is that the more I read and hear about how bad 2024 will be, all as the market continues to move back towards all time highs .... well it makes me feel okay about staying invested. Because it shows they are guessing just like the rest of us - guessing about valuation, fed timing, economic corrections, geo-political influences, debt ratios, earnings ratios, etc. . The only thing I am fairly certain about is that a civil war will not benefit the economy; but that is all I have to say about that before being banned for CRing on this board.
  9. jeezus quit posting that garbage - now we need a puked in my mouth reaction emoji
  10. maybe we should start a related thread where you pick 10 people over 95, and get points for people who don't die - call it a Celebrity Death Cheaters pool
  11. This is very true, but there are also separate threads for each of the majors & the Ryder/Presidents cup. This is a niche board for orphan sports that don't have anywhere else to go (kinda like these guys)
  12. I'd better do this before I forget: 1. OJ Simpson - 76 2. Larry Nassar - 60 3. Rudy Guiliani - 79 4. Vlad Putin - 71 5. Hillary Clinton - 76 6. Matt Gaetz - 41 7. George Santos - 35 8. Bruce Willis - 68 9. Dennis Rodman - 62 10. Clint Eastwood - 93
  13. we don't have to worry about that, no gain, no pain AND no taxes
  14. Majors are Augusta, Valhalla, Troon, Pinehurst followed by a bunch of hyped limited field $20 million purse events, which includes a revamped Pebble event with only 2 courses being used. A few things to look forward to for 2024, Tiger walked four rounds in the Hero and said he didn't feel pain. So I expect he will compete in all 4 majors, and 5-6 others . And of course the ongoing saga and drama that circles around the LIV circuit, and the proposed invesment/alliance with the Saudi PIF blood money. On the Senior Circuit - Angel Cabrera returns after serving 2 years in an Argentine prison (let's see how he is received in Augusta) Here is the schedule, stopping at the Tour Championship
  15. Just load up 3 or 4 C-Rams each onto some barges and let them escort the commercial vessels, or park them along the way. No need to risk major assets to worry about these little fuckers
  16. That is why the Saudi's are now trying to develop influential positions in global soccer and golf; clearly that is a power play for economic influence
  17. Texas 2 - Washington 0 or Texas 102 - Washington 100 Actual Guess - Longhorns 45 - Huskers 38 Penix 27-46 346 3TD's
  18. I keep him off my list for this exact reason. Also we are now in the 2 week window before the official window for picking closes
  19. https://www.cnn.com/2023/12/16/politics/matt-schlapp-cpac-sexual-assault-allegations/index.html you grab one's guy's junk in the car and they label you as gay for the rest of you life. it must be tough running a conservative PAC, trying to keep the Christian right - all while having sex with other dudes (nttawwt - well except for the hypocrisy)
  20. Sounds just like the Penn State guys I knew 30 years ago; they were going to join the B1G and become the powerhouse, those schools had no chance against titan power of JoePa. Now we sit and see them cherish their 4 conference championships ( most recently 2016), and they are clearly a 2nd tier, upper 2nd tier but still. Corn is the same thing, been here a dozen years and still relishing past glory and claimed blue blood status, and no conference championships. Go ahead, post some retort about MSU sucks, okay - but we've figured that out. I am past it, and see everyone thinking that the new Head Coach can turn things around, maybe (but I doubt it, having to compete against OSU, UM (cheaters), USC, Oregon, etc) but the climb up that hill is getting harder, not easier. The B1G should reach out to FSU, and maybe TCU, Texas Tech or UH - why? To get a solid recruiting base in Florida and Texas. But then I they didn't call me when I sent in a letter of interest in working in the Commissioners office.
  21. yeah but Perez is a makes a great case - he likely earned 10-20x on LIV as he could on the Tour, so why not? He wasn't going to win a major, be in the Ryder Cup. Another good example, and I am waiting to see what happens with him, is James Piot; played at MSU, got hot and won the 2021 US Am, which got him into a couple of majors but he had no standing on any tour; so he says why not. Played the first 2 years, but nothing at all of significance, but he made $1.9 in 2022 and $2.2 million in 2023 (plus whatever he got for signing, rumored to be $2-3 million) but he got cut. So I am interested to see where he goes. He never had PGA Tour standing, so I don't think he was ever banned, but he will have to play a satellite tour and maybe some Monday qualifiers. But hopefully he banked 1/2 that money so he can afford to find a place somewhere.
