  1. OMG - 65 years and the Lions have won exactly 1 playoff game, and the media and fans that I know are hyping and excited that this could be the year. I think that the delusion begins to die tonight, but honestly it never dies for the diehard Loser err Lions fans. I gave up my Lions fan card when I moved to Houston, and can tell you the only thing worse than being a shitty franchise is to have your team sneak away to another city. Anyway, Mahomes will do enough to win (or else the locals here will be unbearable)
  2. If you are posting in this thread then it is likely that you should be used to it by now. For reference see - IBRX, BPTH, AMYZF, etc, etc, etc ...
  3. UT 27 Bama 24 Bama yards 238 Bonus pick Saban has a heart attack on the sideline
  4. It is always good to see what PHD has to say about the upcoming weather events
  5. BBC has an article on NIL (no idea why Sparty is in the banner) but they mention the NIL deal Texas collective has for the o-line, and other UT references as well; disappointed there is no mention of the Tight Ends deal from a collective of online degenerates https://www.bbc.com/sport/american-football/66713731
  6. Donald made his picks and Team Euro is (OWGR): Automatic qualifiers Matt FItz (8) Ty Hatton (13) Viktor (4) Robert MacIntyre (54) Rory (2) Rahm (3) Captains picks Ludvig Aberg (90) Tommy Fleetwood (14) Nicolai Hojgaard (78) Shane Lowry (37) Justin Rose (34) Sepp Straka (23) for comparison Team USA OWGR Scottie (1) Wyndham Clark (10) Harman (9) Slowpoke Cantlay (5) Max (7) Xander (6) Burns (20) Rickie (26) Brooksie (15) Morikawa (19) Jordan (12) JT (25) On paper the US should be tough to beat, lowest rated player is 26, avg just under 13; Euro lowest rated player is 90 with 5 players ranked lower that than Rickie, average ranking is 30. The Cup is won on paper, Team RWB had better come ready to play - and unless they play this weeks PGA event it will likely be a month since they played a competitive round.
  7. It is just part of the head games - I wanna see if the Euro's pick straight down the line, which means no IJP or any other LIV'r
  8. I am seeing rumors online that JT is in (not too excited by that, but it could be worse)
  9. Team USA Captains picks scheduled time of announcement and where to watch/listen On Aug. 29, the golf world will have its eyes on Frisco, Texas — not for a major championship, but to decide who completes the 2023 United States Ryder Cup Team. With the conclusion of the FedExCup Playoffs and six automatic qualifiers locked-in following the BMW Championship, Captain Zach Johnson will select his six Captain’s Picks at the Home of the PGA of America in Frisco. Johnson’s six picks will join the six other players and five Vice Captains at Marco Simone Golf & Country in Rome, Sept. 29-Oct. 1, as the U.S. looks to win the Ryder Cup for the first time on European soil since 1993. Here’s the details you need for the exciting announcement later this month: Time — 10-11 a.m. ET Location — Home of the PGA of America, Frisco, Texas How to Watch/Listen — @RyderCupUSA Social Channels, Golf Channel, RyderCup.com & SiriusXM Radio Channel 92.
  10. You must have hated listening to the announcers yesterday explaining who was and was not going to make the field of 30 playing in Atlanta.
  11. Tempted to sell some SPY calls (3-4 week expiry, near ITM) and buy some 2-3 week puts that are $10-$15 OTM. Do you think this is enough to correct the market?
  12. If they wanted the common weekend duffer to identify with it then they should just give the #1 seed 10 mulligans, #2 gets 8 mulligans, etc. Or call it the Patrick Reed Open and you get 2 foot wedges, a lost ball miraculously found, 3 grounded clubs in a bunker, and you can steal a wallet from the locker room.
  13. Refresher on how they handicap the FedEx Club Championship (for the record, I think it is a very regarded way to appease the simpleton fans)
  14. I may be wrong about the Ryder Cup auto qualifier - Xander T8 might get him above Brooks, and Max will pass him with his 7th; will be very close pointswise - I am not against Brooks being on the team, not against him being off the team either (but potential is better with him on the team) Good luck Zach with these choices.
  15. For all the drama that seemed to be hyped - the FedEx Championship changed this week with Matt Fitzpatrick moving up with a T2 from 40 to 10 in the standings and Chris Kirk going from 29 to 32 with his T29 this week. Lots of hype, little actual movement into/outta Atlanta next week. Without looking, my guess is that this also solidified Brooks Koepka in the Ryder Cup with 4 of the top 7 being non-US players. Scottie, Max, and Harmon already in as qualifiers.
  16. then again seems like Texas, and the plains could use a little rain
  17. seems like an area that can use some rain - not all at once, but should help Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam reservoir
  18. Wow - this makes me feel old; I moved to Houston in 1981 left in 1997 and Alicia was the only named storm to roll through while I was there. Road it out in my apt off Winrock, then went downtown but the office was closed so had a great lunch at a mexican place in Midtown that had no power but they cooked fajitas on the gas grill and they were selling beer at 1/2 because it was cool (not cold because the coolers were off).
  19. Holey Shit - this is a great strategy to stop losing money
  20. again with the bad reporting using the notional value of the underlying stock, which I get but that is not the value or cost of the options he bought. I will say that I was tempted to jump on that bandwagon, but haven't yet.
  21. Yeah - it sucks that they can make that play, but I've seen Ackman to public to discuss (aka promote) his latest position
