  1. Not sure after the kiss and make up announcement with PIF. It could just be that for being an auto qualifier & Donald can pick LIV, or maybe not. I don't give a shit about their team
  2. I get that - and the real issue is that the media is reporting the $1.6 billion notional value of the stocks underlying value. As an example I bought 20 SPY calls at the end of June - so 2,000 shares with a $440 strike, so I had a notional value of $880,000. My total cost was under $850; now these were 2 day expiration gambles that I guessed right on 1/2 of them and made $2,400. My total risk was less than 0.10% of the value of the stock. So Blurry could have a couple of million, maybe $10-$20 million riding on his bet, but it is misinformation when the media highlights the story with the $1.6 billion bet headline. Then again if yesterday is any indication, looks like he scared some folks and his bets gained value.
  3. As far as I can tell he is hyper-Wally on this bet, he is convinced that there is a correction. It would be interesting to see the strike and expiration dates. I mean you can buy out of the money puts than are near dated for $0.10. I would guess that he has them at least 6 months out, maybe up to 2025 (which is much more expensive), but you don't want to be right about a correction but miss out by having your options expire before the fall. It is not an easy game to play; it can make you rich and/or it can also drive you crazy.
  4. Today's stonk lesson from wall street is that no matter how poorly your stonks have done this year; always remember that they can go even lower.
  5. Anyone want to discuss Michael Burry buying $.6 billion worth of puts (see attachment and look to QQQ and SPY), I have not been able to find the strike price, expiration date(s). But buying puts on 2,000,000 shares of SPY and QQQ each is a big time bet. So is there a Surly sentiment to be anti-Burry (very similar to the reverse Wally strategy), to be pro Burry or to sit back and watch either the economy or to get a beer and watch it burn (it being either the the market/economy or Burry and his big timing it here) https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1649339/000090514823000689/xslForm13F_X02/informationtable.xml (just thinking out loud - with an outsided position like that shouldn't someone be able to track where those options are sitting?)
  6. no idea - but if they don't pick IJP then they aren't trying to win; that dude lives to play the Ryder Cup
  7. Does anyone know how the points work - my question is can Brooks drop to 7th if Spieth and/or X win the next couple of weeks. I don't mind Brooks being on the team, but wonder if he would be picked as a Captains pick as a LIV guy. Seems like fans love him or hate him; I liked him a few years back if for nothing else besides his beef with BDC. I think that right now my guess at Captains picks is X, Jordan, Morikawa, Rickie, Burns and some one who is hot (Lucas right now). I just don't think JT's playing well enough right now, sure he fits but it isn't a personality contests; and not getting picked could light a fire in him for the future. And again I want to point out how the points are not a great way to choose a team when Will Z (who hasn't played since January) is #18 in points.
  8. Well there is a reason it isn't called Bangcunt

  10. There is truth in this; also well known that 5G cell service and the vaccine chips make targeting the energy beams much more accurate.
  11. Combined with the 60+ mph winds related to the hurricane
  12. good to see Jordan doing Jordan things
  13. LOL - OBV question is not written by someone with knowledge of how the Army works. When my son finished Basic he had about 18 hours to report to AIT. Now after AIT I think the correct answer would be all of the above.
  14. Name that Surly poster..... @Brisketexan nice bike dude
  15. Yeah but is more impactful that saying previously 99.71% of participants did not take a hardship withdrawal but that number decreased to 99.64% did not take a hardship withdrawal; which is a 0.07% decrease in the number of people not taking the withdrawal. I mean that isn't going to be a news story anywhere.
  16. I can agree, having been to multiple B1G cities, and now all they need is a team in Florida to be coast-to-coast and border-to-border. I guess this is what you can put together when you have a $7 billion broadcasting deal. I have a kiddo living in Seattle, so this could give me another reason to go out there, and I can now look forward to that 10pm B1G kickoff for a conference game every week.
  17. I can neither confirm nor deny that rumor; however it should be clear that I did not pull the trigger and double or triple my number of shares held.
  18. DJ Casper (58) - they gonna bury him with the following instructions slide to the right, one slide to the left, criss cross, one hop this time, take it back now
  19. Stonk "investor/gambler" question of the day - if you have a stonk that is down over 90% do you: a) sell and get a little cash out of it, because that is better than nothing b) hold and hope to recoup some of your losses c) double or triple down because when it comes back it will certainly be worth it d) buy at least 5x at these low prices, so you can trade into the coming upside and still keep more than your original investment What say you Surly (for the record not IBRX, but rather BPTH) oh, I almost forgot - asking for a friend
  20. and you know that Phil would have had the pin out or tended, because FIGJAM gonna FIGJAM
  21. 1+ year update - sold my first 1/9/2024 BRK.B $350 call today for $26+, still have 2 of the $350's, 2 of the $360's and 4 of the $400's. I am up over 100% of the $350 & $360 and with today's action the $400's are up 65% today which gets those to down about 45%. Overall up about 65%, but need to sell into the BRK.B rally, as the options pricing will start to slow as we get nearer the expiration date. I may let 1 or 2 of the options fill and increase my Uncle Warren holdings, but I have a few months to decide on that (still think that Warren or Charlie dying will become a buying opportunity). Gotta take some profits while you can (if the reverse Wally scheme worked perfectly then everyone would do it) Current BRK.B option holdings below
