  1. I think the line is drawn somewhere between the kitchen and the dining room table. For many they choose to not eat meat, it is an option. My son says it is a healthy option; I have yet to find any vegatables that are substitute for good BBQ.
  2. because of the loss of a large dairy herd? you should be more worried about that milk shake price
  3. gotta love #stonks - lots of excitement on a less than 2¢ move in AMY
  4. Wait to you see what happens to a gallon of milk, or a quart of ice cream (which will now be sold in 22 oz containers)
  5. dah fuk? It is like you have never heard of the Ford family, or the Detroit Lions
  6. no he used his scale, that he has for repackings his coke bricks into street wraps, to weigh some dimes
  7. the weight is right, but his language is wrong - 1 million dimes = 5,000 pounds, while $1,000,000 in dimes is 50,000 lbs (I'm sure there needs to be a Yo Mamma so fat joke or something about South Austins Mom in this thread somewhere)
  8. The NFL and the league’s players union have announced a newly-designed helmet specifically for quarterbacks to wear in an effort to reduce the severity of impacts that can cause concussions. https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/13/sport/nfl-quarterback-helmet-concussion-spt-intl/index.html I found the leaked photo that they are going to use as a prototype - just have to make a few adjustments from a ball cap to a helmet
  9. Ah yes - the old pink sheet pump and dump report (I remember those days - the only people making money were the printers)
  10. mid-30's is a hypenated word, it is supposed to be above freezing for the high temps in about 10 days - it will be 50 degrees warmer than this week more ramblings below - I don't want to thread hijack, but I may post later after my son hits the ground
  11. Seems like an awesome game - love the webcam And it hits close to home, somewhat. My son is taking a "summer" job north of Fairbanks, on the Tanana but further downstream. His job got delayed because it is still winter, like winter-winter. He was supposed to go there about 10 days ago to do prep work inside before the work moved outside, but it was -20 this week and they postponed the job and he doesn't leave until next week end when it is forecast to warm up to the mid-30's. I am not sure he is really ready for it, but he thinks he is. I hope outsiders can buy tickets, because I am now interested to see when the river starts to flow. For those of you who haven't looked this is the 2023 ice measurements at Nenana - as posted on their Ice Contest Site Update - well crap, just saw that the contest closed on April 5, guess I should have been paying more attention to this thread. Good luck Moose - hope Mrs Moose guessed right this year! -- --
  12. Nah that has become to uppity, they are making a event for the common folk - so they are going to Herrmann Park, and with each ticket you buy you get a day at the zoo and one free ER procedure at Ben Taub
  13. Is there a pool for how long it will be when TxTow gets arrested, after whenever it is he gets released
  14. Holee-Shit Now it has been over 25 years since I left Texas (well Houston), I've been back every few years or so, and I've driven to SA, Austin, Brenham, CC, etc) so I've seen Buc-ee's before. In March we drove to Fla for spring break (13 of us & I'm too cheap to fly them all), but people are bat shit crazy in Georgia about a Texas sized convenience store, with 100 gas pumps, maybe that many bathroom stalls/urninals, all kinds of crappy snacks & drinks, a million kitschy souvenirs though they do have decent sandwiches for travelling. Hell there were traffic jams getting out of the parking lot, had to drive around to find an open pump; I swear these are the same red-neck idiots who will stop to see the worlds biggest ball of string.....which we would also stop at for Mrs. Fairway. And yes she did buy Buc-ee nuggets to bring back home to friends and family FML (sidenote - I cannot believe there is not a thread for all things Buc-ee's on this board, or maybe I couldn't find it)
  15. but have you checked to see what Frankie has to say?
  16. Don't know how I missed that, but IMO it is pretty shitty from a players perspective - having to play the week after a major. That has traditionally been a week many players would take a down week, but I know the Tour is trying to reengineer the schedule and coerce everyone to play in elevated events.
  17. Got an email today - about a stonk that I had completely forgotten - WKHS - looked up my trades, bought a few shares around $18 and out $23.50...now trades at $1.10 stonks gonna stonk Anyway - maybe there are a few pennies to be had if you want to join the action. https://www.workhorsesecuritieslitigation.com/ Stay informed about a class action lawsuit involving WORKHORSE GROUP INC. 18. I can't really get into the next couple of events - RBC, Zurich (partner/buddy event), Mexico Open. Not elevated status, coming off a fairly boring last day in Augusta, with little to no drama, Brooks never put pressure on Rahm, Phil (& Jordan) didn't get much screen time and by the time they got low they had run out of holes. Just one of the least interesting Masters I can remember, no fireworks, only 1 lead change and that was fairly early, no huge numbers, no eagles of significance....too much announcers blathering on. I'll catch back up when they play Wells Fargo for $20 mil purse then Byron to warm up and off to Oak Hill for the PGA
  19. Congrats Went to Monterey about 15 years ago - didn't stay on property, couldn't get PB tee time, played Spyglass, Del Monte and Links at Spanish Bay; also played Pacific Grove in Monterey (the back 9 is awesome, the front 9 is very pedestrian) . We did the whole trip including airfare, lodging, meals and greens fees for less that the 2 night minimum and PG green fees. I plan on doing the PB trip once I retire, as I have heard great things about the course and experience. Also - highly recommend dinner at Mission Ranch
  20. I may have to sell all my stocks, and put it 1/2 into CD's and 1/2 into my mattress; just read that the market may start to react negatively to bad news. WTF - why did I not get this memo much earlier, I thought good news was good and bad news was good (but maybe not quite as good). I no longer have a lucky coin to flip when making investment decisions, S&P 500 (and therefore my SPY holdings) is a joke as the top 10 holdings are almost 30% of the index (may have to switch to SPYV (but super limited options to trade). Next someone is going to tell me that buy the hype then sell the news is not tried and true investing advice. Is the 4% rule out-dated (now relevant again as you can get 4% interest bearing returns), is buy and hold back in vogue, I guess the real question is - Is it possible for ME to invest using the reverse Wally method?
  21. Like I said Phucking Phil
  22. And now the real challenge starts - back 9/Sunday
  23. Jordan gonna Jordan Yeah - fuck that guy
