  1. I certainly hope that fucking Greg Norman is not part of the group going forward, seems like he personally burned a lot of bridges; and he isn't that well received by the Saudi's lately either. I think my personal tribute to the Great White Skank will be to donate all my shirts with his logo to a homeless shelter. I'd burn them but someone can really use them (well maybe burn one in effigy)
  2. Seriously? I'd be pissed to have passed up 9 figure offers - however, if I was an LIV guy, I would be tempted to roll up to the first PGA event and act like Al Czervik
  3. Nice Jinx - Glover goes 63/73 to get first alternate from Columbus Ogletree goes 65/71 missing a spot by 3 shots Leishman goes 68/74 missing by 3 shots Michael Block (impressively) goes 69/66 missing by 2 Ludvig Aberg goes 66/70 finishing 1 behind Block anti-jinx player Sargent goes 64/67 medalist in GA by 2 shots
  4. WTF - I was busy most of the late morning/afternoon , and the market was up when I last looked?
  5. Ding dong the witch is dead - this guy had it coming, considering how many "assets" were lost because of his fuckdumbery
  6. Lol - you should have tried watching Jordan for the past 2, err I mean 5 years
  7. Longest day in golf - post interesting stories about it here - background and links to each site https://www.usopen.com/2023/articles/123rd-u-s--open--final-qualifying-storylines.html

  11. Those green boxes just keep getting bigger & bigger - so much for diversification (1 month S&P 500 heat map)
  12. oh look - there is another one https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/30/us/florida-carnival-overboard-search/index.html oast Guard crews are searching for a 35-year-old man who went overboard from a cruise ship in the Atlantic Ocean on Monday, officials said. Ronnie Peale Jr., of Crimora, Virginia, went overboard, his partner and his mother told CNN. He fell from the Carnival Magic early Monday, according to the cruise line, and a search was taking place about 185 miles east of Jacksonville, Florida, US Coast Guard Southeast said Tuesday. Peale and his partner, Jennilyn Blosser, went on the cruise to celebrate her birthday, and it was his first time on a cruise, Blosser said. She went to bed Sunday night, and when she woke up on Monday around 11:30 a.m., she was unable to find her partner, she told CNN.

  14. If you can pay for all those subscriptions, then this thread really isn't for you. It is for the poors. Personally, I might have to get another subscription (I currently only have Amazon Prime, and not for the streaming or music but they are part of the package); I use my daughters Netflix and Disney+ (she used to have HBO Max but dropped that when I was 2 seasons into Hacks); Mrs. Fairway & I tell ourselves that we really only use them when our grandkids are here so they can watch "their" shows. But we all know that isn't really being fully honest. If I have to we will probably get Disney+; but my daughter and her husband are really the target for the Netflix change - on their account they have their residence and phones, our house, 2 other of my children (one in Seattle, another near Ann Arbor), his father, his mother and either his uncle or his sister - so they have 7 residences using the same Netflix account. I haven't tried to get into that account in a couple of weeks, guess I will need to do that. Should I be pissed that I might not get to freeload off my kids?
  15. Thankfully - I partially exited that as it marched past $7 (now past $65; split adjusted) and got out of the rest on the way down. This is still the best #stonk that I traded in/out of, but only because I got all the way out - and still I regret that my first purchase was at about $0.075 in June 2020, took a loss on that in Sept 2020 at $0.041 before getting back in early Dec 2020 for about $1. Had I kept those first $25,000 shares It was a great ride - thanks @RCRanger03 most of the money I have in other #stonks is still from that initial success.
  16. Seeing this made me wonder about survivors of the USS Indianapolis - and there is only 1 https://www.historynet.com/how-sailor-survived-sinking-uss-indianapolis/
  17. Do you ever really look at what you own in your investment accounts, especially if it is primarily in ETF's, mutual funds and such? I have done this in the past, and tend to look if I go into a new fund (usually when I start a new job and need to make 401k elections; but yesterdays action in NVDA go me to thinking I hadn't do the exercise in quite a while. Back in my younger days I would put 50-75% of my investments in mutual funds, and the pick 5-10 stock to invest the remainder; I owned NVDA years ago and it was not INTC, AMD or Micron so I sold it. It was long enough ago that I'm not sure if it was 15 or 20 years ago. Anyway I thought I'd see how much I owned indirectly through funds - and it turns out, that NVDA is almost 3% of my portfolio; maybe 4% after yesterday. Just another fishing story about the one that got away
  18. Damn - i need to give you FAFO rep and Hook'em I like LBJ taking notes in the background - reminds me of the Mark Cuban gif)
  19. This is all true - I know because I only check the LIV event leaderboard to see how James Piot is doing. At this point you should be asking yourself - who is James Piot? And that is a great question, so let me tell you - he is a former Michigan State golfer who won the US Am at Oakmont in 2021. Played in the Masters and US Open with the invites that go along with the Am title; then jumped to LIV because guaranteed money. Not sure if it turns out to be the best decision, but he got paid and he hasn't been dropped from the 48 man roster. But nobody knows who he is now, and won't unless he makes it to the PGA tour. I am interested to see if there is a path to the Tour for someone like Piot who never had standing.
