  1. Just back from our travels - 7 day cruise out of Seattle, 2.5 days before seeing North Cascade NP, 1.5 days after quick trip to Olympia NP/Hurricane Ridge & Dungeness National WR. Overall a good trip, spent with mainly with my wife's family & our kiddo who lives in Seattle. Didn't really try to keep up on the news, wanted to treat this as an escape ..... but holy shit, on Pres candidate shot, the other quit, bunch of airlines went to shit (only affected a couple of folks from our group), and luckily the fire in North Cascade was a few days after we were on the ship (I swear it wasn't me). We were lucky as our days in port were a break from the daily rains they have been having, but on the water it just looking at fog almost all day.
  2. IMO - due what you are comfortable with, unless it is reckless (individuals stocks, ultra concentrated funds, stonks, etc) . Also, make sure you don't have excessive overlap in funds, schedule out to holdings to make sure you know the investment overlap). Unless you need to catch up, it is difficult to get an advisor who can outperform the 1% charge, vs a well structured no cost portfolio of ETFs, CDs, money market, etc. On the other hand if you are under of how to properly balance your investments, pick funds/investments, or have to many people hounding you then. 1% or a fee only advise e can be with the piece of mind
  3. A not so shocking update, rejected again.
  4. 25+ years of losing at this game & and I have no rejection letter (yet)! {insert - so you're telling me there's a chance gif}
  5. Left in 1997, lived there for 16 years and really only 1 storm that affected me; and I left before the ice problems and heat lile Satan's playground.
  6. Trailer on FX, season 2 releases 9/12. (I think that's what it says) I'm in again, hope it doesn't go crazy or pointless
  7. What we really need to know is if the wreath fund has been hacked?
  8. For a PGA tour pro (elite?) going +1 on the par 5's for the day is indicative of a problem, with a total of 6 holes that have scores of 5 or worse is not gonna win any events
  9. Players just getting on the course, but some going low Sungjae Im - 4 birdies through 3 Denny McCarty - -2 through 2 Jordan - birdied the first, through 1 🙄 nobody on the back 9, yet
  10. Let us see if you have picked up any of the Wally touch - mention your transaction and watch it the trend reverse itself
  11. Now lets see if he can turn this into a top 10 (or better) - he will need to go deep tomorrow to make that happen
  12. The field dynamic for the field changed somewhat when it lost it's spot the week before the Open
  13. Comparing to 2007, with a 3.5 % return is not meaningful. I'd bet 50% of the index components were losing value in H1. Hell Nvidia probably added more value this year than the entire index did in 2007.
  14. more like Wally Wiff, or Wally shank
  15. none of this rules out @Nicole44 , just sayin what I am hearing other people thinking to themselves
  16. congrats to Max, for increasing his points lead & getting a huge media increase in coverage for the upcoming events. he is going to crush everyone for the next month.
  17. Surly posters need to promote Harrison Staffords positions like the media covers Keith Gill; first we need a catchy poster name (like Roaring Kitty and Deep Fucking Value). Looking for suggestions to promote the Surly Stonk Savant to the financial media; and of course we can all go along for the ride.
  18. I agree with you, but the other side of that equation is that I don't think that Biden's performance in that debate is going to get the vote out. I am afraid that there will be people who will be okay with being able to say that they didn't vote for either. Voting matters, but so does not voting - particularly in battleground states. Michigan is a great example; Dearborn has a large Muslim population that likely will not support like they did in the past, students (who were all promised loan forgiveness) may not go out to vote as they did, etc. The MAGA supporters and the Never Trumpers will all get to the polls, but Michigan will depend on the fringe not on the core supporters. I would think Wiscy, Georgia, Pennsylvania as similar
  19. Well, as I read the tea leaves and headlines, that good president did a bad job of convincing people who watched the 1st debate that he should get their nod. And, if you believe the media, some (many/most) in the democratic party are ready to hit the eject button for their presumed nominee. Just remember that in 1992, President Bush was the presumed winner and Clinton was nominated because many Dem front runners didn't want to get run over like Dukakis. And then he said no new taxes, and his reelection defeat was set in motion. Nobody should think this is a lock, there are many hours, days & weeks to go - but after Thursdays mumblefest DJT is on much more solid footing. Not that I like that, but I recognize it for what it is.
  20. Good to see I'm not the only one with the ability to jinx
