  1. I don't get all the Kawhi hate at this point tbh. Like it or not, we got like six or seven good years out of Kawhi, a defensive player of the year award, an NBA championship and another Finals appearance. He's a lifelong Spur in my book and I see no reason to still be bitter or laugh at his misfortu Just kidding--can you imagine? Seriously, fuck Kawhi, fuck his uncle, fuck the city of Los Angeles and fuck the Clippers individually and as an organization.
  2. It's good that Joker decided to play basketball, instead of just looking like one.
  3. That's called a 'future real estate agent who's pretty tall.'
  4. GD I've watched a lotta teams lose a lotta games, and that Clippers loss was one of the most sexually-gratifying ones I've watched.
  5. I have no ill will toward him and it's probably for the best on all accounts. You've just got to be good at something. You can be little and weak so long as you're fast. You can be big and slow so long as you're strong. You can struggle blocking so long as you can go catch passes. What you can't do is be a big, slow, non-blocking TE who can't beat DBs. I hope he lands on his feet if the rumor mill is true.
  6. Every year I like to fire up NCAA '14 and start a new offline legacy with the updated roster and shit on the computer for a few seasons. I made Alfred Collins a day one starter and I don't really play as anyone else on defense. Based on my projections, we should expect Collins to average a stout 10-12 sacks per game this year. Chris Warren III also won some Heismans (Heismen?) a few years ago, so maybe my system isn't perfect.
  7. I'm generally an off-putting guy in real life; I don't see why my online aesthetic should be different.
  8. Because Texas has its best QB in place since Colt McCoy. It seems like it's a good time to breathe a sigh of relief and have a bit of a laugh at our own collective misery.
  9. I remember Scott Derry because he played football for us a while back. If west side is a reference to DKR, all I can say is that I once sat in the student section, and now I sit wherever I can get cheap tickets, as often as my wife will let me. I've been called a lot of things, but this'll be the first time I've been called a Sooner. It hurts worse than I would've expected. Agree.
  10. Well, I can't say that I'm either in middle school or a nursing home. And I'll talk to you or anyone who will listen about Scott Derry any day of the fkn week.
  11. I should be clear: I think Yurcich is likely to succeed here. He couldn't have gotten off to a better start and it'll be hard for him to be unproductive with Ehlinger under center, behind an offensive line anchored by a first-round caliber LT, with that stable of running backs, and with good--if unproven--WRs. But I'm now just naturally wary against declaring any coordinator as "the guy" after a few impressive early showings. We were singing praises about Todd Orlando until teams figured him out. The wunderkind Tom Herman got predictable with his playcalling and teams seemed to figure him out. Hell, I remember after watching us hang up 50 points on Notre Dame thinking that we'd found our guy in Sterlin Gilbert (who to be fair was trash and didn't have a resume at all like Yurcich). So I have to think it's reasonable to temper expectations from a coordinator after one (albeit great) game against a bad Conference USA team, when no one is exactly sure what this offense is going to look like.
  12. I've got to be honest, I have no idea what that means. I'd assume it's an insult, in which case the answer is 'probably'.
  13. Then I'm probably misinformed. I was under the impression that he'd kinda been brought in to put his 'spin' on Tom Herman's offense while taking over playcalling duties for the offense rather than installing an offense that was all his own. I was also under the impression that Mike Gundy has a significant voice in OSU's offense. But I could be dead wrong.
  14. Do you think there's absolutely no reason to be skeptical whether Yurcich running Gundy's offense = Yurcich running Herman's offense? I tend to think there is.
  15. That's okay. My rep on message boards isn't really super high on my list of priorities, and if I'm being honest, trying to convince you that I'm not a bitch isn't that much higher for me. I gave you a "Hook 'Em" thing and I hope you have a good rest of your evening.
  16. Agreed 100%. I know I used cruel and obscene slurs like "never lived up to expectations", "made some of the best and unimaginably worst plays of the last decade", or "wound up playing WR" when describing some of our past QBs. It looks like the punishment for these crimes is to have my rep completely wiped out like @immamac suggested, which is already well underway. So be it.
  17. What's interesting to me is that this thread is currently right above another one you commented on filled with four pages of people shitting on Spencer Rattler, insulting his appearance, making all types of jokes about him sucking dick and generally being a homosexual, and you didn't call anyone in that thread an asshole. I think my post is pretty tame in its criticism of former QBs compared to that one of a current QB--Sooner though he is. Interesting choice of when to clutch your pearls.
  18. ^ This. Once every Big 12 coach has several games worth of tape on this offense and we're still humming like we were on Saturday, I'll be ready to start the hype train. Not before.
  19. For anyone who's curious, I found this documentary about Kai Money.
  20. Which is interesting to me. I was hoping for a lighthearted discussion looking back on the team's QB woes in the early-to-middle part of the last decade. It didn't strike me that such a thing would be met with the amount of vitriol that it has, but I cede that I was 100% wrong. I'll take my negs and try to do better next time.
  21. I don't think any player is above criticism either. But other than that, I completely agree, and I definitely wish I would've named this thread 'Rate the Texas QBs of the Last Decade', which would've better promoted the discussion I was trying to invoke without unnecessary and unwarranted negativity toward any particular player. I tried to explicitly refer to an accomplishment from each player I mentioned in the original post to avoid seeming like this was the goal, but I should've been more thoughtful. To be clear, every player that's mentioned or not mentioned in this thread received a scholarship to the University of Texas to play football, which means they're tougher, harder-working, and more talented on their worst day than I am on my best.
