  1. Blue. I like actual color on a guitar.
  2. I almost picked up a UN Freak a few years after they came out for a great price. Then I imagined actually trying to use it as a watch. It was pretty amazing though.
  3. Thanks for putting up a great listing Goredho. Nothing drives me battier than reading about a ding or scuff and the the seller not showing a single image of the actual issues they describe. I hope you get top dollar for it. It is a great looking guitar. Unless you sell it to someone on here. Then, I hope we can see more pics and a description of how they basically stole the guitar from some sucker desperate to sell..... I agree with the consensus above. Cherry is simply sublime.
  4. It sounds like you just need your hands free and back pack mode for the airport. If you are not actually using it as a backpack around town, check out the Patagonia Black Hole MLC. It's the max 45L for carry on, the back pack straps are very comfortable, but you can also carry it by a handle or shoulder strap if desired. The design makes it easy to live out of at the hotel vs digging around in the bottom of your back pack for stuff. We never check bags. I can easily put a weeks worth of clothes and an extra pair of shoes in it. I've found it to be the best compromise of useful carry on with comfortable backpack mode option.
  5. There is also this..... My initial thought was stick with C shape and 9.5 radius. However, some of the top contenders are 9.5 with a Soft V or 7.5 with a C shape. I can try out a few locally, but not all. I know that necks are very personal preference, just wanted to get a few trusted opinions before jumping in.
  6. I need some assistance from the Telecaster hive mind. I am possibly dipping my toe back into the 6 string realm for dorking around at the house. May even resume some lessons etc. I have normal sized hands (not small or stubby bear paws). Any thoughts on 7.5 vs 9.5 radius? C vs U vs V profiles. I have my eye on a few and would like some perspective likes/dislikes. etc. Current contenders:
  7. Bring it. And since Deej and Bogey are trying to scoop the bass, pics of the Charvel? Pointy headstocks are my jam.
  8. And an acoustic. Well, and a P-bass. Also, maybe a Gretsch with FilterTrons and a Bigsby.
  9. I have a guy, but like most good ones, he is busy. I passed on the guitar, so no PLEK need after all.
  10. Has anyone had a guitar PLEK’ed? Thoughts on if it was worth the expense?
  11. Westone tried it in the 80’s with a bass guitar.
  12. Already exists. Let us know when you get a shipping number. https://reverb.com/item/28939055-wild-customs-gyrock
  13. Expensive, but the nerd in me is impressed with the design.
  14. Technivorm has an option for a manual drip stop model if you want to avoid having to stir the beans to help with initial coverage. I kinda regret not getting that option so I could let the beans bloom a bit with the initial drip. However, I also know that on more than one occasion, I would probably forget to flip the switch and end up with coffee spilling out the brew basket while I'm distracted making breakfast.
  15. New arrival? I feel green guitars do not get enough love.
  16. Blacklab: "Sorry Prepuce, Ben says it's a POS" PoD: "Damn. Thanks for saving me from buying a money pit. Venmo sent." Blacklab: "Any time man." 2 weeks later - Blacklab: Hey guys....
  17. Bass related, but: https://basscentral.com
  18. You win.
  19. It is easy to tease out income from the data points in the actual application. Married, 2 kids, father-investment banker, mother-pharmacist vs Single mom, 3 kids, mother-housekeeper at Embassy Suites hotel. We didn't fill out FASFA until after the applications were submitted, but I know for a fact that the schools could pinpoint a solid range for our family income/socioeconomic status beforehand. I have no clue how much that truly factored into any acceptance decisions, but it's fine if it did.
  20. We just went through the application process this year. The applications have family marital status, number of siblings, educational level of both parents and if they are currently employed/what is their occupation. Most of the essays have an option to discuss how you dealt with or overcame adversity. There is ample information for schools to take an educated guess about a kids socioeconomic advantages or disadvantages. I am perfectly fine with schools factoring in data like this. The rich kids will do just fine. If they didn't get into UT, I am sure they got accepted to about 5-10 other schools that will provide a quality education that their parents will pay for and they will come out debt free on the other side.
  21. Agree. Just take your dog for a hike. He doesn't need to drop into a double black.
  22. Maybe in "Two Corinthians".
  23. Champagne room. Platinum room. Whatever it takes.
