  1. Oh, I know. I got an email from Tone Shop in Addison today. 20% off a good portion of the store for an after Christmas sale though Friday. Trying not to cave and go in..... My son is off to college next year and it has me looking around and realizing that if we want to downsize at some point, I actually need to start selling some stuff. Watches, guns, instruments... Then I think about the hassle of dealing with buyers. Baby steps, but I am getting there.
  2. 1 acoustic, 4 basses. I am on a continued gear purge. Just sold off an acoustic and 3 basses earlier this year. My goal is to get down to 2 (possibly 3) basses.
  3. At your upper end, Omega would be my choice Frederique Constant makes a great watch at an amazing price. Another option would be to start looking at the used market to get a bit more bang for your buck. https://frederiqueconstant.com/collections/7-8-index-automatic/products/classics-index-automatic-1 https://frederiqueconstant.com/collections/heart-beat-automatic-classics/products/heart-beat-automatic-fc-310ms5b6
  4. I'm so jealous. We had tix several years ago when we were in NYC on vacation. He got sick and had to cancel that night.
  5. Your choices were a Les Paul or a Porsche? I am sorry, but you picked the wrong option.
  6. It’s mostly the color. I was specific that I wanted Daphne blue and not Sonic from the first email. I even sent multiple color examples to them. I also did not want the artificial cold checking nitro that most of their builds use. They missed on both fronts. I caught the cold checking issue when they sent me a final build sheet before final assembly. It went back to the paint booth. They sent me pics of the repaint and it looked Sonic blue. We talked about it and they went ahead and sent it for approval agreeing to repaint if I didn’t like it. it is great, but it’s the wrong color. We are now 10 months in and they are willing to make it right, but say it is easier to build me a new one instead of refinishing the current again. I am kinda done at this point. I plan to call them today to see what my options are. First world problems, but the point of a custom build is to get exactly what you want.
  7. My Fenderbird plan has not gone well. I am planning to reach out to the builder today to see if I can cancel and get a refund. If that happens, I am eyeing that burgundy NR Thunderbird so I have been on their page a bunch lately.
  8. https://reverb.com/item/48152938-gibson-les-paul-classic-honeyburst-modified Those pickups may be more metal than you are looking for, but there are a ton of other really cool factory modded LP's on Gibson's reverb page.
  9. That is my concern with the internet sites. I have heard that before about C&C specifically. I am in DFW, but thought about driving to Austin and meet at Bernard to let them look in person. I have thought about listing individually. I used to be pretty active buying and selling on Timezone back in the day, but that place is not what it used to be. I think WUS has usurped them. I have an account there, but I have lurked only so not a lot of street cred built up. Honestly, dealing with multiple listings, shipping, wire transfers, scams has resulted in me losing interest every time. It's a hodgepodge of stuff. IWC titanium aquatimer 2000, Speedy Pro sapphire sandwich, GO Sport Evo panodate, Rolex Pepsi GMT2, IWC Portuguese 7 Day. I want to keep one or two, but having a bunch of safe queens is no good.
  10. Has anyone had experience selling to Bernard or other big used watch sellers (Bob's, DavidSW etc)? I am ready to downsize and am exploring my options.
  11. Gibson Demo Shop has a lot of really nice stuff up on Reverb right now https://reverb.com/item/47531156-gibson-les-paul-classic-honeyburst-modified
  12. Not guitar mill. It's similar company that builds Fender and Gibsonish style guitars and basses. They will sell bodies but most of their business is complete guitars. They also do refinishes, repairs etc if desired. They actually make everything in house (bodes, necks, many of their pickups are wound in house unless otherwise specified like my Lollars) Without having the bass in hand, I hate to name them publicly. Things may be great when I get it. They have a really good reputation. They also have been totally willing to repaint it and have said multiple times that they will do whatever to have me be 100% satisfied. So, while frustrating, I know they will address it if necessary. Feel free to PM me for more details. Once I get things sorted out, I will be more forthcoming. I just hate to complain publicly about something that may not even be an issue. This was the color I was shooting for.
  13. P-bass style with Lollar Thunderbird pickups. I wanted a T-bird, but just hated the ergonomics. Of course, right after I ordered this in April, Gibson released the non-reverse T-bird with a thicker neck, better ergonomics and a nicer set of pickups...... I have decided that I am never going to custom order again. This has been a long wait and a pain in the ass at times. It has already had to be repainted once because they put the wrong nitro lacquer on it. It may go back again after I receive it. This was supposed to be Daphne Blue, but it looks like Sonic blue in the pics. Shop has been good with being willing to make things right and are willing to repaint to a true Daphne if it is lighter than I was looking for. They are nice guys and build great guitars and basses, but have dropped the ball a couple of times with the finish unfortunately. I hope the camera just washed out the images, we will see tomorrow.
  14. This is how you end up with a favorite driver.
  15. Scheduled delivery: Wednesday, 12/15/2021 by end of day IN TRANSIT Arrived at FedEx location NASHVILLE, TN Merry Christmas to me.
  16. It looks good, but I am saving up for a Surlycaster......
  17. Must be nice to have a guitar tech on call at 0700 MST. Way to humblebrag there pal.
  18. Yeah, I followed the link. Went to look up the seller to see how reliable they were. Back to the sale listing, and gone. Hopefully Goredho has a tracking number for us soon.
  19. Sold! Let us know when it arrives Goredho
  20. Watch Drive to Survive. There is a lot more to root for beyond the individual driver. I know there is heavy editing involved, but seeing each team and driver fight for every advantage whether you're first or fifteenth on the grid has made it a lot more fun. Nobody is safe in F1. Drivers are always a few bad races away from losing their seat. Team principles are under tremendous pressure to find financial backing and to move up the ladder from back marker to mid-level or up from mid-level to fighting for podiums.
  21. Depending on what the difference between private buyer and Caravana/Zoom. I would take the best offer from Carvana/Zoom/Carmax and enjoy the Bronco. Trying to eek out a little extra is not worth dealing with the flakes, low ball offers, meeting at the bank to confirm the deposit clears etc. If you are going the private sale route list it everywhere (Autotrader, FB market place, Craigslist etc). Lots of quality pics at good angles with a good background behind the Tahoe
